Have you seen any of the real life gundams? I'm going to Japan next year and I'm sad that the moving puppet gundam is gone ;___;
fucking zoomer dogeza before kobe tetsujin
I went to Japan 6 years ago while the puppet was being built, so I only saw the Unicorn, sadly.IIRC, the puppet is currently a fixed statue kneeling at the entrance of the World Expo in Osaka
>>23518299 (samefag)I will always marvel at the sound quality of the japanese shows, like the Godzilla head in Kabukicho roaring
>>23510580>sad that the moving puppet gundam is goneAkshually, you posted a picture of it
>>23510580Must end life in classic Lorne Green pose from Battlestar Galacatica.. best death ever.
>>23518334>Akshually, you posted a picture of itbut it doesn't move anymore
>>23510580It was pretty lit. Turned me in to a diehard Gundam fan.
I saw the Yokohama Gundam like 2 weeks before they took him down in March last year. It was super fucking windy so it took like 2 hours for him to do the show display, but it was neat. Picked up some limited gunpla while I was there.
>>23524335>>23524687The marketing worked.
>>23528686it actually makes me sad how the west lumps gundam in with transformers
I've visited the Unicorn one. I want to go back and see the others. My only reason to visit Shanghai is the Strike Freedom.
>>23528686How ironic, that was the channel that aired Wing here.
>>23510580Same, going to Japan next January and already put Unicorn Gundam in itinerary. But sadly probabpy won't be going into Gundam Base after hearing stories about limited entries.
Expo will end in October, they have not said what they are going to do with the Expo Gundam yet.
>>23528843The RX-78-2 was very cool. There was actually a periodic event where they had a show with projections on the wall nearby, and the unit itself would move. The cockpit opened and they would project Amuro Ray inside the cockpit.
>>23529172where is the RX-78-2? I know about the RX-93ff, which I want to go seeis there a list of these things anywhere?
>>23531991>>23529172oh, you're talking about the RX-78F00/E at the Gundam Factory Yokohama Expo
>>23531991>>23531994No, I mean the original RX-78-2. Before the Unicorn Gundam was at Diver City Tokyo, there was an RX-78-2 there. It's cool when the Unicorn goes into Destroy Mode but the original Gundam was so much more iconic. They changed the RX-78-2 for the Unicorn about ten years ago or so.
>>23534050any pics?
>>23518334Only life size Gundam I have seen IRL. It's awesome and all but it's not towering over you since it's kneeling. I wonder if the Expo organizers put a height limit or something so that the Gundam isn't taller than the ring.
>>23534050ah yeah that one, I missed my chanceI agree it's more iconic and that the Unicorn sucks
>>23510580I've seen the big moving Gundam in Yokohama a few times, as well as the Unicorn a bunch of times. There's a cool Gamers store dedicated to Love Live a short walk away from the shopping centre with the Gundam Base that I recommend checking out if you go see it too.
