I thought Beakkuma was basically his docile mode. Also lack of Guudebang being utilized just doesn't feel right for me, at the very least Byun Mach Robo was in every episode. The story goes on a standstill in the middle which is really distracting and pretty much makes no sense even if the cast is likeable and the motw are entertaining. While everyone in the cast gets a decent amount of focus, the red ranger and the 6th get way more focus than the rest, like more than usual, it makes the team including the 6th feel like the red ranger's pets. The world-building about the animal world that the 4 rangers belong to is extremely underexplored which really hurts the finale that the show wants to go for. The action is also kind of bad aside from when the 6th and red fights, it's more reliant on CGI effects than usual and when it isn't it doesn't do that much unique. And otherwise the show feels a bit too safe at times.All that said, the red ranger Yamato is among the best in the franchise, the 6th ranger Misao is among the funniest and most unique, the motw/cotw are decent, the other rangers are good, the core story is pretty good which some really emotional moments and the villains are kind of decent.

So I finished Goseiger a while back and I was wondering why the action choreography in that show was bad, like in Q1 some of Yellow's hits wouldn't even connect and most of the times the cards and heads would just serve as stock finishers. I tried looking up for an explanation but I couldn't find anything besides some posts claiming that it was due to the pilot director having a tumor but I find that far-fetched because he isn't the action director and still did some projects the year after before retiring because of the tumor, at the time of Goseiger there was nothing public about it.Does anyone know why the action suffered that much?
