The show was doing terribly sales and viewership wise though so him and the writers were thrown out and Shirakura and Inoue took over which then made it start feeling more like the surrounding seasons to the people who actually liked the original version's dismay. Also they introduced a new characters that basically acted like an unwelcome house guest that decides they live there now and leave all their shit and rubbish everywhere.

Everyone showing up to help the kings and God King-Ohger pulling a TTGL was really hype, and King-Ohger sacrificing itself was a good scene, but I didn't feel much for the Shugods because they're more mecha than characters and the final battle doesn't feel as dire and suspenseful because they were already winning it by the penultimate episode. Saber had all the Riders going down one by one and the world ending despite the heroes beating the final boss, then we got all the videos the audience sent being displayed while Touma thanked them in a very heartfelt manner, then Mei's tearful speech before Touma surprised everyone by coming back, and that last shot of the pop up book at the very end. The most emotional I got with King-Ohger's endgame was when all the people showed up and Gira got teary-eyed, the rest of it was mostly a victory lap (a very epic one I must say) and although the epilogue scene with all the people coexisting was sweet, it was kind of a standard "and the adventure continues" ending.Also, like I told you, I don't wanna keep discussing Sentai here, so let's drop the comparisons and just talk about each show in their respective general.

Ultimately Saber managed to be a great show but overall feels like a lesser Drive.Unrelated but I really want King-Ohger's writer to do a Rider season, Zeztz's current producer Yanaka should be able to get him in the future, King-Ohger is personally my favorite toku even if the non-mecha action sucks and the second half has some questionable decisions.

Ever since Boonboomger, Sentai has gone back to being done by normal producers like Kamen Rider, Boonboomger and Gozyuger are both the first toku done by their respective producers, Matsuura seems competent at least despite being new.The other thing is that each Kamen Rider production since Zi-O has had a fuckload of bad luck. The causes for each season having a chunk of their show be poor quality is different each time. At least Gavv was somehow consistently good despite its myriad of flaws and Zeztz's producer, who's also doing a toku for the first time, is giving a good impression in interviews which makes me hopeful.

This is a thought I've been having for a while and I wanted to see if others think the same or know something about it, that being that the suits in agito are way higher quality than the ones used in kuuga, the craftsmanship is way better and I don't understand why, did they change who made the suits, did they simply have a higher budget or am I just biased? While there are plenty of suits in kuuga that I think are on par with the agito ones, the average quality for the kuuga ones seems way lower

With Kuuga, the kaijin vinyls sold really well so they gave more budget to the Unknown compared to the Gurongi. As for the Rider suits its just a matter of trying to make the main Rider trio feel really different from each other which helps them stand out more than most of Kuuga's suits, but there wasn't any change in the Rider suit budget as far as I'm aware.

Finally finished up Agito. Overall I liked it even if the final arc was kind of lame. Next to Faiz, it's probably one of Inoue's stronger shows and is definitely one of the top Heisei 1 shows. Hikawa is easily one of my top favorite secondary Riders now if only for how him just being an average Joe who's just dumb enough to not know how to give up ends up being a superpower in itself. The cast is pretty great with a couple of exceptions and the character interactions are on point. Agito probably has the most consistently good humor of any Rider even if it does tone it down as the series goes on.I really felt like they could have done so much more with Kino in particular. He's mentioned really early on but doesn't even appear until the final quarter of the show and then when he finally does, he doesn't stick around that long. If he had appeared and been a presence earlier, he could have created some interesting dynamics with the other Riders, especially Shouichi. Overall I'd say Agito is a solid 7.5-8/10 but that's really only if you like/are used to Inoue's writing quirks. I refuse to accept Inoue's "canon" that Ryo's puppy dies basically immediately after we last see them. The poor guy more than deserves a break after everything he's been through.Hojo is STILL a bitch.
