Although with anime in particular a big part of it is just the lack of availability in English. Really, how many B&W TV anime series are actually fully (or even just majority) subbed? Skaro Hunting Soc and Hokuto no Gun have been plowing through a few shows, but for the most part the shows lucky enough to get any translations just get a couple of random episodes
