>>23524861>Have you seen the videos of the "gameplay" on the website?no, id rather pirate the game and get mad for an entire afternoon
>>23524707Well, let's wish them (and us) good luck with the release of the game.
>>23523062I expect an answer from you, if you already declare that "Everything is different! You don't understand, it's different!"So far I only see clinging to words and formulations as proof of a "mistake". And your sending me to Kouki is not very serious - in one of the previous threads I was attacked for mentioning Kouki's words about the Sakaki government adding chemicals to the water supply system to brainwash the Japanese, like, "so that they would suffer less from memories of the past times of prosperity" or something like that. >>23523048>No fucking way IvanI see, so you have no sensible arguments "against", Dick? How pathetic are people who can only scream and swear.>>23522845>everyone lives in berlin?...other aircraft industries just fucking vanished and gave up?...Everyone knows that BETAs pose a mortal danger to everything flying, especially in the frontline zone. Everyone knows that TSFs were created to "replace" aviation and as an "alternative" to tanks. Everyone knows that F-4/MiG-21 and F-5/Mirage 3/Tornado are already flying on the battlefield and in parades... And only a strange aircraft engineer from the GDR somehow missed all this and looks at the "even flying" Su-11 as the end of its era? This is complete bullshit and nonsense.Just in case, I will clarify one point for people like you: bombers of different tiers are STILL used in aviation, but ONLY IF Laser-class is not found in the herds or BETA-Lasers were destroyed as a result of "Hunting" them and eliminating the danger to flying equipment. To claim, as a refutation, that this bad aircraft engineer did not know about the capabilities of the MiG-21 promoted by GDR propaganda or was too busy with work in a world where the role of aviation has significantly diminished, is an extremely pathetic attempt on your part to cling to some verbal inaccuracies as irrefutable evidence, simply because "you have to be right".Weak, guys, try harder.
>>23525370I'll wish good luck on Tactics R-18
>23525427PSA: ivan doesn't even watch the anime let alone play any of the games, he's a pure wikifag and not to be engaged.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPq4YlVoCIYNo, they didn't change much from this video uploaded months ago. They still haven't learned their lesson from Mikhail. BETA are formidable for how effective they are swarming, not how tough each is individually.
We must disengage with the Ivan. Avoid the Ivan. Ignore the Ivan. Create a better future for the general.
>>23524723Probably... not yet, there's other more obviously milky girls ahead of her.
>>23525676There is no better future, with or without the Ratnik. Muv Luv is a shambling corpse surviving on Gacha, and the lack of any details about Tactics seems to suggest it's not going to magically save Muv Luv either.
>>23526105>surviving on GachaIt never did. Remember they've gone through four failures already - at this point they gave up on that, the Muv-Luv we used to know only exists through Tactics at this point. That's the game anchor is working on with fuse.Best to consider Girls Garden its own thing. There's a couple people from anchor still around like Tashiro Hayato and Matsumura "Tororo" Kazutoshi, but the company itself isn't credited with involvement. The director who unlike the fat fuck actually played the trilogy said he considered it self contained. I've seen posts that Muvluv should've ended there from time to time, but it's the first time I saw someone with some actual authority echo the sentiment. While it would've been great if age understood that after 2006, or avex when they bought the IP, better now than later.
>>23526176The trilogy is perfectly self-contained, but Kouki fell in love with his own world and wanted to make it into his version of Asimov's foundation. Unfortunately for him Asimov was a truly mad genius. Nobody ever said of Kouki, "He had writer's block once. It was the worst ten minutes of his life."
>>23526195As someone who's read Foundation, I have no idea what you're trying to say here.
>>23526212If Kouki has just kept writing, I think he'd be in a better position. Even if it meant a hundred Muv Luv LNs, that would be something for the fanbase to buy and support the franchise with.
>>23526195>>23526223The problem as has been pointed out previously is that the entire ethos of the trilogy is flawed based on how all the spinoffs have to refer back to it and each time lessen the impact of the BETA when they barely show up until over halfway through Alternative as a horror moment when they were only talked about up until then, and at that point everything swiftly heads towards the conclusion where they're neutered. It simply doesn't work for a continued universe.
>>23524845Japanese Gacha are dying, the market is saturated with supply and low demand. there is too much competition outside the country. If a third party were to borrow the IP, doubt it would be ANOTHER gacha. God willing, maybe we'll end up with something decent that serves as a Trojan horse to attract people. In the worst case scenario, we'll end up with Girl Gardens 2. In the best case scenario, idk, the G Gundam of Muv-Luv.
>>23526334Muv Luv already made it's own G-Gundam. It was called Ayu-Mayu Alternative. They've already exhausted the entire creative well of how many ways you can do a spinoff.
>>23526341I get what you mean but I'm referring more in a creative point of view rather than an aesthetic one. I mean in the sense of a new product that deconstructs the franchise to its basic appeal, is independent of any previous instalments, and has its own distinctive identity.
>>23526341They haven't even tried. Girls Garden, where you basically keep some concepts while going OC for everything else, is the way to go. Would've been better to reboot Muv-Luv immediately following Alternative to give a new setting for robots vs aliens.
>>23526334>worst caseBut Girls Garden is one of the best Muv-Luv settings in ages?
>>23526356i guess, but it doesn't make much sense to have two gachas at the same time, does it?
>>23526360Oh not at all, I assumed you were talking tonally. I'd be down for Muv-Luv getting retooled as a lighter series.
>Miyata Sou gets blown up as a tracer during TE>Uchida Hiroki gets blown up as a plagiarist during SM>Kitakuou gets blown up as a fraud dev before Alternative S2 airsMuv-Luv anime are pretty cursed.
The H scenes feel like AI.

>>23526367>>Uchida Hiroki gets blown up as a plagiarist during SMThis is something I didn't know about. Please explain further. I need more for my grand Age history document covering every fuckup they ever made.
>>23526378https://anond.hatelabo.jp/20160821130011
is MLA worth watching if i'm purely in it for the action scenes? I already know how badly rushed and fucked up they screwed up my favorite arc. I've already read Extra/Unlimited/Alternative multiple times.
>>23526363agree, I would like to see a Girls Garden with more of its identity (visually speaking) and keep things like fortified suit, just as they kept the TSF, and more importantly, not be a live service game, lmao. I very much doubt that the change of perspective from civilian to soldier can be maintained in a game that has no end and has to keep the same game cycle and mechanics forever. That aside, I'm also not a fan of making (allegedly) copycats of old memorable characters, and according to some, the story is rubbish so far, although the first few chapters of the story being bad is a common syndrome in this type of game.
>>23526394Yeah it's nice to watch while your doing something else so go give it a go
>>23526402nice. i'll give it a look. I remember I dropped it early in s1 because rebellion arc was meh to me and early in s2 after I saw how they butchered PTSD arc
>>23526195>>23526263It really sounds like a RPG remake is the necessary middle ground to reintroduce people to the franchise. Think about it: all the internet nerds know what a "Muv-Luv Alternative" is, but they don't read it because it lacks novelty and buzz. It's the same with some of the ass remakes that Capcom and Konami are doing.
>>23526400Remember that most people didn't actually play Extra so only the hardcore fans would pick up on the Ayamine reference that guy was complaining about; the story is much lighter and closer to a moege than the utsuge Alternative was so I'd assume a divide based on how much you enjoy that.
>>23526416They've tried that multiple times. Mikhail was literally that. It didn't work because there is no franchise.
>>23526442Mikhail didn't work because it was shit in every conceivable way
>>23526442>It didn't work because there is no franchise.I'd attribute it more to a lack of publicity and low production values

>>23527655because you liked a vn from 20 years ago and a 50 year old japanese youtuber is screaming at you to do it
>>23527151>and the filler pilots are AI generatedthe best part is the reason for this was playtesters complaining about presentation like pic related, you'd think the cheapest solution would be to chop out the silhouette portrait altogether instead of tanking ML's reputation further

The material he wrote got mangled to a pulp by the MLA anime writer because he thinks strategy games can't have a lot of text. So Resonative will be a fantic by the anime writer of the fanfic written by kouki for the fanfic written by wei. Doesn't that fill you with excitement?

>>23527137ProloguePart 1(Part 1 introduced something only happened in the timeline of "Muv-Luv Tactics.)"LADDER"——Linear Access Deployment and Direct-retrieval system for Earth-orbital Resources."LADDER" , which was built by America to gain space supremacy amidst the intensifying U.S.-Soviet Cold War, is the first "orbital elevator" in human history, constructed with investment from Western international financial capital.Built on the artificial island named as "Taprobane", located at southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia, it dramatically accelerated the space development of Western powers. The benefits of "LADDER" extended beyond the military, generating significant economic effects. It dramatically improved the lives of Western society and its residents. Thanks to 'LADDER' for space solar power generation, the development of celestial body resources and the establishment of an inexpensive ground transportation system also largely solved the resource and energy issues of Western countries. It gained overwhelming victory for the West in both economic and military aspects of the Cold War——"LADDER," built in space, brought the world peace that humanity should achieve. Some people, due to its common name "Orbit Ladder," compared it to Jacob's Ladder in heaven.(Jacob's Ladder is a ladder or staircase leading to heaven, came from Book of Genesis.)1/2 - https://www.reddit.com/r/MuvLuv/comments/1nifb7r/translatestory_plot_of_muvluv_tactics_kalidasas/They praised the future it would lead to.
>>23527137Prologue Part 2However, the universe was too cold and indifferent to humanity's dreams. On January 25, 1967, a geological survey team affiliated with the United States' permanent lunar base "Plato 1" lost contact in the Sacrobosco Crater. This was the "Sacrobosco Incident," where the extraterrestrial origin species discovered two years earlier on Mars had also invaded the Moon and devoured the entire survey team.(Yeah, this event is also exist in other timeline such as Muv-Luv Alternative.)The invasion of the extraterrestrial origin species, named "BETA" (Beings of Extra-Terrestrial Origin and Adversaries of the Human Race, 『人類に敵対的な地球外起源生命』), sparked the "First Lunar War". The "LADDER" supported the lunar front centered around Plato 1 for six years through logistics. However, due to the worsening combat situation caused by the BETA's surprise landing in Eurasia and the failure of the initial response, humanity abandoned the lunar front. In 1973, the BETA landed in Kashgar, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, located in central Eurasia, and built a massive fortress known as a "HIVE". The first invasion force that emerged from the Hive advanced westward, ravaging Central Asia and reaching Eastern Europe. The second invasion force moved north and the third invasion force moved east, sweeping through Southeast Asia. The largest factor that allowed the BETA's blitzkrieg was the emergence of a new species, the "Laser-class", which countered the overwhelming air superiority. Ground forces were helplessly swallowed by the BETA's nearly infinite numbers."Mercenary units" are highly specialized guerrilla forces that can flexibly respond to any mission or front and are considered "politically expendable", Because they are "immediate combat-ready forces for hire", they are often deployed in high-difficulty missions with extremely low survival rates in exchange for high rewards. 1.5/2
>>23527137However, In that "Green Hell", there was a highly skilled mercenary unit that had accomplished numerous impossible missions, continued to survive, and earned both fame and infamy. International United Nations-recognized private military organization, identification number 429. It's name is "Seagulls". They, known as the "Carrion Unit" with both contempt and respect, were now deployed in the border region between the Kingdom of Thailand and Myanmar at the request of the Greater East Asia Alliance Army——Update: The United States, based on the development of large-scale MMUs for space development, introduced a new armored weapon capable of three-dimensional maneuvering in low-altitude areas, the "Tactical Surface Fighter", as a trump card against the BETA and deployed it on the front lines. The TSFs achieved some success on various fronts but failed to stop the BETA's overwhelming numerical offensive. The long-term maintenance of human control over the Eurasian continent became hopeless.
>>23527137Prologue Final PartA.D. 1995——Southeast Asian Front.Due to the United States' military support policy prioritizing The Euro Front, the expansion of the Southeast Asian front's combat forces was delayed, and it became notoriously brutal, earning the moniker for the front: "Green Hell".The Greater East Asia Alliance, formed by Southeast Asian countries to resist the BETA's southward advance, had fought hard for years but in vain. Vietnam, Laos, and northern Myanmar were destroyed, and the front was in a precarious situation. The headquarters of the Greater East Asia Alliance sought to ensure smooth procurement of equipment through enhanced collaboration with the Empire of Japan and to supplement the front-line forces. They actively promoted the use of "mercenary units", including private military companies.
>>23529407>>23529409>>23529415>>23529418>It gained overwhelming victory for the West in both economic and military aspects of the Cold WarSo, in this ML world, the Cold War was lost by the USSR back in the 70s and the Commie-Block has already collapsed? It is assumed that due to the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union, there will be no Russian TSF branch in the game?>However, due to the worsening combat situation caused by the BETA's surprise landing in Eurasia and the failure of the initial response, humanity abandoned the lunar front. Some nonsense. Western countries dominate space and they don't give a damn about Asians. The BETA landing in Kashgar and subsequent expansion cannot influence the Moon War until aliens appear at the borders of Central Europe.>avaging Central Asia and reaching Eastern Europe. That is, there will be no more Kazakh and Polish combat slaves for the USSR?>"Mercenary units" are highly specialized guerrilla forces that can flexibly respond to any mission or front and are considered "politically expendable"Where did these free forces get the latest and scarce combat equipment aka TSF? In particular, Chisa's unit is equipped with damn Zuikaku and, apparently, test models for Takemikazuchi systems. And these are, in fact, models and technologies of the Imperial Guard of Japan, which could not have just ended up in the hands of some mercenaries...>The TSFs achieved some success on various fronts but failed to stop the BETA's overwhelming numerical offensive. This world was able to master the Orbital Elevator and thermonuclear fusion back in the 50-60s, so why can't they improve the weapons of the TSF? Laser rifles, plasma throwers, railguns, missiles with S-11 warheads, vibration swords, etc.?
>>23529426>They actively promoted the use of "mercenary units", including private military companies. And how will these mercenary groups operate on the territory of Eurasia in the BETA zone if the remnants of the countries that owned these territories before the invasion do not want to see them on their territory?
>ivan aka imaginary maize copying and pasting from leddit to try and get attention again Pathetic
>>23529287>>23529315Cute. There's something about GG that feels like it's got the soul of Muv-Luv in it that previous attempts lacked, I hope it continues to do well
>>23529520My issue with GG is that I have no interest in a lighthearted muv luv at this point in my life, and even if it turns serious a year from now or some shit I'd have to youtube the story of 12+ fucking events

>>23529336You would. I wouldn't and most others wouldn't bother, it'd be throwing money down a pit. If they were good VNs like that'd be a different story but they lost that talent a long time ago.
Is it normal that the Switch version of Alternative sounds like crap? it's only the characters tho, the BGM sounds good
>>23530738I've heard most of the ports and updates have audio issues at some point or another
>>23530738the new engine has issues out of the ass because it was coded by a company that exclusively did smartphone ports of VNs, so even though your switch isn't a smartphone. every single asset got compressed like it is.
>>23530846I am emulating it, but the weird part is that Extra and Unlimited sounded just fine (except for like 10 lines in the entire game that sounded awful, which, yeah, happens even on legitimate hardware)
>>23530872If the switch version is based on the Dimenions/smartphone release that is probably because there was a multi-year gap of fucking nothing during development and they only finished that shit to dripfeed it as gacha content
So, a short review of Tacticshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S60EhGC-MIY&list=PLP0NnSMuajSLLIsNiSG03kDE_6jZH9bhl&index=3https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwmrFXoNC8k&list=PLP0NnSMuajSLLIsNiSG03kDE_6jZH9bhl&index=2I watched the first few missions of the game on the channel – via the links above – and my impressions are mostly positive. The prologue is clearly AH, although it's unclear why. That is, yes, the West won the Cold War back in the 1970s thanks to the space elevator – apparently there won't be a Soviet TSF branch – but this had no impact on the fight against the BETA. Mercenaries, as a narrative tool, may be good, but it's unclear how exactly their legal status is formalized. The action takes place in 1995, in Southeast Asia. Considering that, according to canon, in 2001, humans hold only a small foothold at the southern tip, either humans will be able to defend these lands because of AH, or players will witness a monumental defeat. Again, the player's employer is the Asian Alliance, meaning that after the USSR's defeat in the CW, the local states didn't join the prosperous and victorious West, but formed their own organization—I wonder why? (By the way, was the Vietnam War even mentioned here?)Visually, everything is excellent. Some complained about the AI for portrait generation, but in my opinion, they turned out quite well. The girls are diverse and attractive—and there's definitely a trend for decorative eyeliner (are they imitating Chisa?). The guys are a bit worse, as there are two distinct types of male characters: pleasant, intelligent guys in glasses under 30 and stern, bald guys around 40. (Or so far, that's mostly what I've seen.)
>>23531260The TSFs are also good. The website has about 20 mech icons, and three models have already been shown in-game. The Chisa squad is armed with the Zuikaku for enlisted personnel and a sort of test model for Takemikazuchi systems for commanders. US F-4s have also shown up. That leaves 17, minus the Soviet TSFs and some European ones—1995, remember—what are your thoughts on which models will be available?Character and TSF customization is harmonious, for lack of a better term. There are some oddities, of course—only four types of mech equipment, depending on their role (even though the MLA had a ton of squad "positions"), and weapons can be loaded to overload (six autocannons with four hardpoints). The TSFs themselves don't seem to have the ability to replace parts, but they can replace/upgrade their equipment, software, and weapons, improving the vehicle's combat capabilities. Pilots hone their skills and techniques to suit their tactical roles, and they can also set up team attack sequences with other squad members, which is cool. The combat is purely tactical. A turn-based system, with four fighters distributed across the map during battle, each with their own designated attack/defense/action type. Attacks can be single or team-based, and each weapon type has a cooldown period, allowing for a wide variety of attacks. Even long-range units carry knives, so they can defend themselves in close combat. There are no specialized long-range or heavy weapons yet, but you can experiment with close-combat combinations like "dual swords" or "sword and shield." Swords are fun to play with – potential options include Rafale falcatas and Eurofighter Greatswords, although they haven't yet entered service in 1995.
>>23531262The maps feature hills or walls that block Laser-class attacks, as well as auxiliary allied units...in the form of regular cannon tanks (why not the Shilka-type?) for local troops. The BETAs vary, from swarms of Tanks to massive, solitary Forts. A couple of attack types and a fairly standard behavior – the aliens prefer more advanced vehicles in attack (at a certain range) and will always choose a TSF over a tank or container. Containers are useful, but it's a gamble, as you never know what's inside and how useful it will be to the TSF that opens them. Therefore, there's a "cargo" gameplay mechanism that allows a TSF player to carry extra ammunition/fuel/spare parts, etc. Field repairs are standard in the game. There's no voice acting, and the dialogue between the heroes and other characters is presented as comic book icons in a messenger, so to speak. Overall, it's pretty good.Well, yeah, people can be enemies too. The Yankees did attack the South Asians in the story. Why the hell? It's unclear. But this is the first ML game where you can kick the ass of those spreading the "freedom"...Well, so far things aren't so bad.

>>23534582Translator anon here. Thanks for this--I actually got the TE LNs all the way to 6 but didn't have the TG material. So far, I'm done translating everything till v3, and I must say, I think the VN cut off quite a bit. There's pages and pages of what you might call 'infodumps' filling up my entire screen, none of which made it to the visual novel... probably to make it more palatable. Teito Moyu is also much more dense, at around 500 pages. I'll be sure to append the TG content into their respective volumes as a bonus short story once I get to them.Right, I'll add that I got the original trilogy novelization too, and some scans of Schwarzesmarken up to v6. The former's great, the latter not so much. See pic related. They've got official epubs with cleaned out illustrations and everything. Well, inoculating that into my arsenal would be a boon and much more preferable, specially since v7 has a special edition with artwork et al, so if you've got copies, do please share. Same with the TSFIAs.Now, I would've completed TE sooner... except I got sidetracked with another series.... which I'm admittedly still in the middle of translating... It'll take a few more days till I'm done with it (´・ω・`) That said, I'm quite taken by the temperance of Kouki's writing. Compared to it, his is lightning fast, and all of v1 & v2 feel as if they were written in 1 sitting, in absolute deathly concentration.

>>23539608>Post-Alternative should've been done first to establish a new baseline with all the little spinoffs and prequels he had in his head either later or shelved. Basically. What ended up happening is they squandered the brand going backwards & sideways on stories that go nowhere only to be turbofucked when they finally wanted to push things forward.Probably would have been better to shelf Muv-luv for a time and come back with another major entry when they have something worth telling. The BETA aren't much in the spinoffs. They really needed to move forward if they wanted to do more with them.
>>23539642The worst part is that he hasn't figured that out yet. Obviously if you've been a fan of the series for a while you'll be chomping at the bit for more stories fleshing out the world like TE and SM's LNs but VNs are very expensive and generally aimed at a broader audience. It was a catastrophic decision to greenlight over three highly expensive full length visual novels that were glorified fanfiction. Now he wants people to put out money for a subpar SRPG.
>>23539690One of them was truly glorified fanfiction by an actual fanfic author. And strangely enough, that seems to have been the most popular one. At least, I hear less bitching about TDA compared to TE and SM.

He doesn't break down like Takeru does when confronting the BETA for the first time. Nothing is his fault, everything is out of his control, nobody close to him actually dies until Cryska (and even that has seemingly little effect when she returns as a Newtype). Yuuya's character is a half-assed mess of only telling and never showing, and that really drags down TE for me.

A curious fact has come to light in connection with Tactics's release. This is what Chisa and her deputy's personal TSF looks like - https://www.fuzz.co.jp/app/muvtac/mechanic/ These "modifications" of Zuikaku (for ordinary mercenaries, yeah) fought in Southeast Asia in 1995.This is the Shoukaku - https://x.com/kendskenzc/status/1780988775805624471/photo/3, a modified version of the Zuikaku deployed after Operation Cherry Blossom using Takemikazuchi's technology. You can read about it in the second issue of Regenerative magazineThey look like twins. I wonder what that means?
I don't know much about Muv-Luv but I recently checked Project Mikhail on Steam and it seems like a complete shitshow judging by reviews. I am just confused, how hard can it be to make a semi-decent EDF clone? You already have good mecha designs, just put them in a game that's not complete jank and you're golden. Even Nitroplus managed to make passable AC clone recently, so it should be doable even for an indie studio.
>>23540765It tried to lean too hard into a strict combat scheme as well as poor enemy desitgn. It also had the gacha element, and it's a prime example of fucking up something by attempting to make something simple and then repeatedly doing things poorly to enhance the product.
What's wrong with Schwarzesmarken? I was looking forward to reading it after I'm done with TDA and TE.
>>23540810>It also had the gacha elementMikhail had(or was going to have) microtransactions, not gacha. >>23540765It's harder than you think when the guy nominally in charge kept bitching about armored core and praised the jank. By the way, Kasumi Sumika in AC4 is a reference to two Muv-Luv characters, Kasumi and Sumika. I think what might be the most interesting thing about this series is how its original creator repeatedly bit the hands of everyone that did or could feed him.
>>23541449Too much. Off the top of my head, the fact the Katia route was literally just the LN and anime turned off all of the Katiafags who were looking forward to it. Then there's the fact they thought it was a good idea to split it in two parts, have half-assed resolutions to characters and tell you to read the LN sidestories to know more, the BETA being a total joke with everything revolving around politics instead regardless of which route you choose, Irisdina's route being nothing but a gory bloodbath, none of the routes end romantically (Lise gets close but she's crippled), it was a huge slap in the face to fans.

>>23548558>Nope. enlighten usI can only speculate. There are a couple of options: 1) IRL - the mecha designer ran out of ideas or ran out of money for a mecha designer.2) In the Tactics game, this model serves as a test platform for a number of systems designed by Takemikazuchi, and Chisa's squad is an Imperial Guard special forces unit disguised as "mercenaries."3) Crossroads of Worlds - considering that Regenerative features the Shoukaku as an upgrade to the Zuikaku and a de facto replacement for the Takemikazuchi, it's possible this is part of a common set of TSF models for the future Resonative.>sounds like Alternative 4To be fair, Yokohama Base is the only location under UN control with a functioning BETA reactor. In Gundam 00, there were three Elevators connected to each other by "orbital rings" for stability and connectivity, even though they were built by different factions. In Tactics, the Cold War was won by the West back in the 1970s precisely thanks to the Elevator, but for some reason they didn't build more Elevators.>Big if true. This is stated in the prologue to Tactics: "Plateau 1" was under siege before the humans evacuated the moon. (Well, yes, the Laser-class would have appeared earlier, and then the events of ML would have unfolded differently, but still?)
>>23548589>>23548684>From that theory, the Orbital Elevator should be fine...No one disputes that, but the problem is the Lift's location—Indonesia. The BETAs are currently actively attacking Southeast Asia, and if the countries in that region fall to the alien onslaught in Tactics, the Lift could simply be "devoured" by regular BETA strains.>>23548684>Philip Ragan, co-author of the book Leaving the Planet by Space Elevator, states that "The first country to deploy a space elevator will have a 95 percent cost advantage and could potentially control all space activities. In Tactics, the Elevator was the reason for the West's victory in the Cold War back in the 1970s, so that's understandable. The only thing that's unclear is why the Southeast Asian countries are still socialist, judging by their flags and all that... Quote - "Well the map shows a single Vietnam with Hanoi as the capital, and they use the (formerly) North flag, so the Socialist Republic of Vietnam exists at least is some way...And speaking of that the flag used for Burma (Myanmar) is the military junta/socialist era one..." This is despite the Socialist Bloc losing to the West for 20 years now and being slowly devoured by BETA. They have no support or aid, yet they refuse to join the West. I wonder why?

EDF is fun because the enemies are so huge you can actually manage the whole battlefield at once, like using the horizontal line gun to blow the whole front backward from a kilometre away, or hiding behind curves of hills and buildings from an absurd army of giant with gatling guns. It takes a surprisingly clever concept and flips it on its head to be terrible in all the ways EDF is good, for the enemies to be smaller than you. You'll spend most of the time shooting at your feet. Grapplers come across as really scary but their whole concept doesn't work in the abstract way an action game works so they just become like the shittiest asset flip zombies that drift toward you and deal damage on contact.I honestly think the simple mech-battle VN sequence at the start of Extra was a great idea and a whole MuvLuv game focusing on combat instead of character moments with the first-person cockpit graphics they made and reading-comprehension style decisions and hard choices with no right answer in a game with multiple heroines and branching paths would restore the threat of the BETA and inject life into the series but it will NEVER happen. >>23560448nobody is translating war ensemble because its fucking shit and the opposite of what people like about this franchise. Endless text and zero production values.Notice how nobody is translating the gachas either.
>>23561283Nobody's translating anything.
>>23561331Kaseki no uta got translated like a month ago lmaowar ensemble is just dogshit
Why did they make the hottest girl the unromanceable main villain, anyway?
>>23561371>Kaseki no uta got translated like a month agoWent through VNDB and found out it's true. My question is that is it really canon to the continuity of Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, and Muv-Luv?
>>23561522Reserved for another.
>>23561537Kouki said as much back in 2020, back when Integrate was announced and there was still hope for the franchise.> “Kaseki no Uta” is a story that takes place far in the future of the Age works, but I think the fact that this was the first work we planned had a big impact on the direction of Age. In other words, although it turned out to be a mirage, we were able to use our maiden work to determine the endpoint of what we would create in the future. There's a number of interesting elements in Kaseki that seem like first drafts for concepts that would be expanded upon in Alternative, like the 'Dolls', which are clearly 00 Units.
>>23561538Yeah, me.

>>23563741read that post again, buddy
>>23563984Yeah, the way to imagine it is that it didn't exist. Wait a few years.
>>23564057There won't even be a general in a few years. There'll be nothing left.
>>23564061Sure you can whether it's Unlimited or Alternative. 4chan was created in 2004, moron. /pol/ wouldn't exist for many more years.
>Muv-Luv Girl's Gardenlol, wtf is thisI'm completely out of the loop (like years out of it) what's the tldr on the state of mubrub? Is TDA4 out yet? Any news about that Alternative sequel they've sort of teased back then? Is swarsesmarken translated yet? What is all this gacha shit they've been making, I heard it bombed massively? >Dimensions EOSrofl, well that's what you get when you massively nerf the sex appeal but doing BAtrash instead just isn't it either. >The Imperial Capital BurnsThis is completely new to me, that looks awesome, I never had time to read TE but I liked the anime back then.
>>23564636>Muv-Luv Girl's GardenGacha number 5, because the previous four all crashed and burned. Gooner heaven with actual R18 content, there's no BETA and the TSFs are known as 'Maze Guardians' or something.>TDA04Vaporware.>Alternative sequelVaporware.>SchwarzesmarkenA FanTL got a C&D, and there's no sign of an official release any time soon after aNCHOR cut ties with Alternative Projects, the guys who translated all the prior Muv Luv VNs.>The Imperial Capital BurnsAlso known as Teito Moyu, it was bundled free with the PC release of TE, but is sold for $20 now because they're desperate for money.Basically, everything's fucked and there's almost zero chance Muv Luv will ever rise again.
>>23564640thanks man, I really needed a recap, I was just gone (despite this series being so important to me, seeing my favorite stuff turning into gacha is hell)>Vaporware.welp, I hope the gacha stuff will earn them enough cash to fix this, at the very least.>A FanTL got a C&D, and there's no sign of an official release any time soon after aNCHOR cut ties with Alternative Projects, the guys who translated all the prior Muv Luv VNs.WTF that's so bad. I read the VN on release back then (with my shit jp) and thought the 1st part was awesome but I never got around to read the 2nd part since I thought it would get translated anyway.. ugh.>bundled free with the PC release of TEHmm I have it installed but I don't see itUh, did they at least release the Alt anime's movie? I thought the series was serviceable, they managed that at least..
>>23563741>>23564057>4chan didn't exist yet, newkidi knew. just referencing the "chan" culture that predates this site, m8.>>23564088if we go into details of the lore, CODEX mentions HEAVY censorship, even in western countries. and since Silicon Valley (Taiwan and Korea would not develop like IRL) will be full priority to military hardware, cheap and mass personal computers will be seen as a fever dream, at least for civilian sector.Meaning only few people will be in the net, and glowniggering will bright the copper wires everywhere, lel
>>23564636>lol, wtf is thisMuv-Luv Gacha (Alternative) 5, which is so far proving to be the most successful one ever tried with Muv-Luv. TSFs are no more, now there's Maze Guarders that work as mining robots that happen to also be good at fighting. It is unironically looking more viable than Tactics despite kouki's total lack of involvement. That's your answer on the state of Muv-Luv. Somehow, after multiple failures trying to piggyback off of Alternative, someone finally got the idea that Muv-Luv should try going back to its roots from Extra/Unlimited and do a proper AU. I can't believe it but I'm more hyped for it than I have been for Muv-Luv in ages.>Is TDA4 out yet? Cancelled in favor of Resonative. See >>23528422 for what that means.>Any news about that Alternative sequel they've sort of teased back then?See above.>Is swarsesmarken translated yet?Not officially, and likely never will be.>>23564655>Uh, did they at least release the Alt anime's movie? The Alternative anime bombed spectacularly. There's not going to be a movie.>welp, I hope the gacha stuff will earn them enough cash to fix this, at the very least.About that...>>23527362

>>23565184she has maybe three lines total and you fags still obsess over her
>>23565900crazy that those 3 lines and evil bitch tits is all she needs to be the best as much as I liked the vn it was such a mistake not making her a more important character. Even the anime tried to fix that lol
>>23566081What 3 lines are these?
>>23566081>Even the anime tried to fix that lolHow the hell did you come to that conclusion.
>>23566373>How the hell did you come to that conclusion. Not him, but they paid lip-service to her motivation. Instead of outsourcing it almost entirely to the side-material. It was sloppy, and it didn't really work. But they tried.
>>23566405Pretty sure she mentions jurgen in the vn too, but either way she still has more favorable moments in the vn so to say that it was worse for her than the anime is simply absurd.
>>23566405They thought it was a good idea to turn her into hitler, for some reason.Just because they tried to have more screentime for her doesn't mean they did it right.
Why are Sumikunts so hateful?
>>23567011Meiyafags eternally butt-blasted that the grand finale of the trilogy has their waifu getting NTR'd.
case in point
Meanwhile, Tactics showed the Burmese/Myanmar TSF, although they are simply repainted F-4s...
>>23567079...They also partially showed the Burmese/Myanmar fortified suits of female pilots.Basically, we now have official colors and markings for the Burmese/Myanmar forces as of 1995, at least in the Tactics timeline.
>>23567083>>23567079Is Myanmar one of them military juntas in the Tactics timeline as well?
>>23567090Well, their flag in the game is the old one, from before the reforms of the 1990s, so apparently yes.Although it's unclear why Southeast Asia formed its own alliance instead of joining the US-led constructors, given that in Tactics, Washington won an unconditional victory in the Cold War thanks to the Space Elevator back in the 1970s, and then the BETAs gobbled up what remained of the Socialist bloc... Simply put, the Southeast Asian countries have no alternative support other than the West, but they are trying to maintain their independence.
