I'm 61 episodes into Legends of The Galactic Heroes and it's nowhere near as good as people say it is. Not only is everything too long (why didn't it end after episode 55?) but it has a bad habit of moving its focus all over the place. It's decent and competent, but it ain't compelling a d calling it one of the best sci-fi stories ever is not something I can get behind.

Bait used to be believable.

This is how I feel about Star Trek, Babylon 5, Firefly, The Expanse, etc. They're alright but none of them are mind blowingly amazing or even worth discussing at the academic level.

It's duel.

Why do you whine about SRW if you don't play the games?
>>
I like how realistic it is
The Aliance won the war in the first few episodes after yang took over Iserlohn fortress and instead of making peace with the empire they decided to go into an unwinable war because the rulling class didnt give a shit about its people and needed a big succes to make them look good for next years election which resulted in a disatrous campaign that directly lead to the downfall of the alliance
Its cartoonishly evil but at the same time IRL leaders are cartoonishly evil and complelty removed from the real world

It's no Irresponsible Captain Tylor, that's for sure.

one of my favourite arcs isn't a specific battle or campaign

it's that time the alliance leaders imprisoned yang as part of a political witchhunt and tried to personally interrogate him as part of a secret hearing and prove his loyalty, but he keeps giving answers alternating between smartass, condescending, and impartial that trip up the interrogators

i like how close he was to just quting out of spite the entire time during that interogation scene
They almost drove out their golden goose with their witch hunt
Again just like in real life

That's because you have shit tastes and can't see quality when it's before you.

wait until episode 82
>>
>>23534195
Show skirts the 10/10 line for 2/3 of the series and then drops to a 3/10 for the rest and loses any semblance of rewatchability with a single move

with one sentence you've given away how badly you're brainrotted by short form content.
multiple PoV, flashbacks, discussions are necessary for telling a COMPELLING multi dimensional story.
ofc that isn't in style nowadays with everyone shouting a single point at you as fast as possible.
>>
>>23534195
Why did you have to remind me? Still that and the episode afterwards broke me on my first viewing.
>>
>>23533961
Explain how it is quality.
>>23534652
It's not compelling in any way and in my 35 years of life I never used some non-existent metric like "dimensions" in a story and if doing so results in behavior like that I think I'll manage.

It's duel anon, the guy isn't actually watching the show.

Dude stop, nobody is buying it.
