Barrage is also expensive, but it has good range because Kira gets Snipe and Charge naturally, and you can increase it with parts and Gunfight. Athrun is the one who gets Combination Assault for 2-6 range while Kira's is shorter when initiating, but you can do it without casting Charge. Honestly I use him to kill mobs on the map and he's the best at it outside of Raideen, and Raiden I use for softening bosses.
