It's only a matter of time until Hasbro bites the bullet and pays TRIGGER a billion trillion dollars to make a Transformers series/movie.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you like to see it happen?

Anon Hasbro's brilliant plan to save Transformers after One bombed is to bring back Michael fucking Bay as normalfag bait. An anime is the furthest thing from their minds.
>>
>>23530855
>An anime is the furthest thing from their minds
It's the only thing that can save the franchise.

I blame the retard that edited that horrible first trailer.
>>

Hasbro has no clue what to do with the franchise and probably won't do something big like this till around the end of the decade. They can't decide between catering to adult fans or younger kids which lead to Transformers One's marketing mess.

At least the comics are still doing good or this franchise would be fucked.
>>
>>23530962
Doesn't matter. Hasbro is comically out of touch with reality and only cares about short term profits.

Gridman is already teasing a sequel for april next year. They are announcing alot of shit leading to april. Its going to be a big event and theres been a random emphasis on the number 3.
3 will also be the 3rd tv series if its a new series
3 inverted equates to sigma

Hasbro still hasn't figured out that virtually all of money from those Bay movies came from China, huh?

Comics don't make any money so they're definitely fucked.

Hasbro won't hire Trigger at all because whatever Trigger would do is not within their vision of the franchise, it would have to be a Takara Tomy only thing and Transformers performs so badly in Japan they're sure not gonna do it.
>but the anniversary
was a 3 min vid, you're asking for a 12ep anime
>>23532257
>or this franchise would be fucked.
the franchise is fine, TFOne failed because people weren't interested in an animated transformers movie, the trailer didn't help but no one really wanted to put down money to see it.
>They can't decide between catering to adult fans or younger kids which lead to Transformers One's marketing mess.
no, they were pretty firmly marketing the kids movie to kids, just that adults dont really wanna take kids to movies anymore and general audiences are kinda bored of Transformers movies, they're basically all the same
>>
>>23532725
>Transformers performs so badly in Japan they're sure not gonna do it
Haven't you ever heard those stories about how when all hope was lost, they took a risk on something that appealed to otakus and then saw massive success?
>>
>>23532725
>TFOne failed because people weren't interested in an animated transformers movie, the trailer didn't help but no one really wanted to put down money to see it.
It's so fucking funny to me that Transformers fans will bitch about Hasbro not giving the fans what they want, then when they DO make a movie that appeals to Transformers fans, nobody goes to see it and bomb like the 80's movie did. Either TF fans don't actually know what they want, or there simply aren't enough manchildren left who care about TF anymore. Probably a little of both.
>>
>>23533451
TFone sure as fuck wasn't what I wanted. I just wanted more of Bumblebee but ROTB was only partially that because Lorenzo can't let go of the Bayverse. At least the movie stumbled into the novel concept of just having a robot talk while in vehicle mode so they didn't have to spend more money to animate a CGI robot just for a scene or two. One of the producers must have a long standing grudge against Knight Rider or some shit because we never got that before despite it being so simple. And the 80s movie at least made its money back on home video and the extra cash it gave to Toei let them kickstart the Saint Seiya anime.
>>
>>23533499
>TFone sure as fuck wasn't what I wanted.
Well that's part of the problem isn't it? Transformers fans aren't a monolith, they're a 300 headed hydra and every head is trying to kill the other ones. Shit's like Star Wars in that regard. You have the tumblrinas who really love the comics, the people who like the comics except for the gay robot love stories, Genwunners, people who think Beast Wars is peak fiction, people who unironically like Bayformers, people who ironically like Bayformers, people who only care about toys, people who watched like three episodes of the original cartoon as a kid because their dad had a video tape of it lying around. I could go on. Me personally, as a someone who just kinda likes the idea of Transformers more than anything, One seems interesting to me and it seems like a solid foundation for a new timeline. Megatron and Optimus being friends before the war starts is something I've always liked, the worldbuilding for Cybertron is neat, the designs are really cool. Them partially transforming during fights to use certain weapons is an awesome idea too. But them again that's just it: the movie SEEMS interesting to me but not enough for me to actually watch it. I've watched videos about it and read synopses, but my interest ends there. What's the point of watching the movie and really liking it now when it's going to be a setup for a new timeline that will never be followed up on? Like if I had kids I wouldn't even want to show it to them in case they actually like it, I remember what it was like as a kid really liking something only to find out it's never going to be finished or got cancelled.
>And the 80s movie at least made its money back on home video and the extra cash it gave to Toei let them kickstart the Saint Seiya anime.
True. And that's just not something that happens in this day and age regardless of quality. Hell I don't even think the toys they made for One are selling well enough to make up for the box office.

Hasbro has All Hail Megatron right there, yet they chose a mediocre Autocracy adaptation instead. TF One wasn't bad, but Hasbro is too scared of making something truly different for the franchise.

Without Beast Wars, Transformers would've been dead and forgotten forever after G1 and the catastrophe that was G2.
Beast Wars saved the IP with its toys and show, and the show itself became the base for how every new Transformers show would be structured.
And I am mad that while G1 gets all the good shit, Beast Wars on the other hand barely gets anything. And most of the things it gets these days are either meh or shit.

Does not matter what anon thinks, asbro is run by incompetent people who couldn't even make Power Rangers work even after Bandai's redhead stepchild US division managed to successfully keep it on shelves for 25 years.
>>
>>23533125
We're beyond the "all hope is lost" part with Takara. All hope was lost like 13 years ago when TF Prime bombed over there. The risk was funding their own anime again with TF Go!!...which also underperformed. Deciding to just sell mostly the same product as the US with minimal paint changes anymore except for special cases is proof enough that they long since given up.
Transformers as a property in Japan had it's glory days ages ago, and they were barely that glorious.
Being beholden to American marketing decisions doesn't help. Frankly most American TF designs since Animated probably look awful to Japanese audiences.
The diaclone Powered convoy is an interesting alternate look as to what "Convoy" might've looked like in succeeding generations if not for Hasbro pushing that Optimus must always be a truck with a window on his chest. Japan obviously does nostalgic appeals too, but it's usually the older character handing off to a modern version with a modern design taking some influence but not 100% beholden to the past.
At this point, Diaclone and Shinkalion have taken over Takara's attention for Transforming mecha that actually appeal to Japanese audiences.
>>
>>23553136
>. The risk was funding their own anime again with TF Go!!...which also underperformed.
What is this nonsense? TF Go!! was an OVA series sold with magazines.
Wild King is actually successful and is getting attention.

>It's only a matter of time until Hasbro bites the bullet and pays TRIGGER a billion trillion dollars to make a Transformers series/movie.
>On a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you like to see it happen?

transformers anime would be cool

but

who do you get to write it?

Japan doesn't want to write anything interesting for transformers anime. They have proved that time and time again. They would actively dumb down their dub of the US shows.

Their plots and dialog are so actively childish you almost have to wonder if they wanted to tank the ratings of transformers in japan so they would get out of a contract.

You can't let IDW write it. And the OG cartoon writers are starting to die.

I guess you could cobble together a team from the old cartoon and beast wars. They might be able to crank out something acceptable.
>>
>>23532548
>Hasbro still hasn't figured out that virtually all of money from those Bay movies came from China, huh?

I feel like they know. Its probably a big reason they turn a blind eye to all the bootlegs coming out of china
>>
>>23546046
>Beast Wars on the other hand barely gets anything.

why do people say this? You got several reissues of the old toys AND new molds for the old characters, at the same time. You had like 2 releases of megatron and optimus primal at the same time. You even have masterpeice releases of most of the main cast.

Why are beast wars fans like this? You act like you get nothing just because they haven't released a masterpeice figure of some weird shit character that only appeared in beast wars 2
>>
>>23545201
Dynazenon was not inspired by those.
>>
>>23552345
Both are fondly remembered.
>>23557839
This is the single dumbest post I have ever read.
I don't give a flying fuck about releases of old toys and reworks of them.
I want a new story set in the Beast Era and have this setting explored in greater details.
>>
The real question is how does this multi-billion dollar company not have its own anime studio?
>>
>>23558318
>I want a new story set in the Beast Era and have this setting explored in greater details.

You already have 2.5 stories set in the beast era. You have two different crews on two different worlds. Maybe 3 or 4 if you count Manga.

As much as Hasbro sucks G1 cock, not even g1 fans get new stories set in G1. Why do you think you're going to get better?

Hasbro released a $200 titan of scorponok and he's only one episode of the. Netflix show. I think the beast wars characters got more episodes.

Then you have the last movie, which also had beast wars characters.

I dont know what you want. Beast wars is getting the same treatment as anyone else. No one is getting fresh new stories in their oeginal continuity
>>
>>23558512
>You already have 2.5 stories set in the beast era.
One of them being a retelling of the OG cartoon.
>You have two different crews on two different worlds. Maybe 3 or 4 if you count Manga.
Thing is I don't want it all over set on Earth.
>As much as Hasbro sucks G1 cock, not even g1 fans get new stories set in G1. Why do you think you're going to get better?
Forgetting about the IDW ones and the Skybound one? Those differ a lot and give people a lot of new stories or newer takes on the original story.
>Hasbro released a $200 titan of scorponok and he's only one episode of the. Netflix show. I think the beast wars characters got more episodes.
That show was in the end an insult. G1 and BW should be separate timelines.
>Then you have the last movie, which also had beast wars characters.
Which was also an insult because not only they didn't look organic, but also they had to ride the G1 cock instead of being their own thing.
>I dont know what you want.
I said clearly what I want.
>Beast wars is getting the same treatment as anyone else.
Pffffffffff. Good joke.
>No one is getting fresh new stories in their oeginal continuity
Everybody does get original stories one way or another. Be it animated or through other media like comics, games and more. You are just to narrow-minded to see it.
>>
>>23558542
>Everybody does get original stories one way or another. Be it animated or through other media like comics, games and more.

I guess write idw or whomever has the comic rights if you really want beast wars comics.

Good luck getting a game. Have lots of uniquely different alt forms and it not feel like shit to play will be difficult. We waited years for war for cybertron and the alt forms are all very similar

Not anyone in Japan. They've never taken the idea very seriously
>>

Abel Ferrara.
>>
>>23560277
Ehh, Prime's toys just didn't do well in Japan period. Also wasn't the show packaged with one of the monthly telemangas? That's a lot different for the market. Go!! just didn't resonate with kids much. (Also didn't help that the toys were kind of iffy. All the joints for the combiner trios made them kind of cumbersome and confusing to transform.)
>>
Why would Prime do well in japan? The only thing that might have interested them was teen boy / arcee implied thing that never went anywhere.

They think transformers is for 4 year olds over there. How would that have been compelling to 4 year olds?

The real question is how do you get normal people to spend money? Like what is it about bay films do Chinese people like?

Real life circumstances (i.e. autistic children) have led me to engage with Transformers media recently. I haven't done a hard deep dive but a few things are rumbling around my mind.
1)Bayformers looks way fucking better 2D.
2) I'm still kind of annoyed Energon shifted to a 3D animation. It's a major reason I never watched it after the GOAT finale of Armada.
3)I don't think I care for the violence in Transformers (2023) comics. It's not horrible, but Starscream splatting a dude and seeing someone's guts pop out after a bullet pierced isn't my favorite style.
4) Dani from Rescue Bots is cute and I would.
>>
>>23567712
>Bayformers
>>
>>23547007
>Dared to do something new
>Dared to expand the lore
>Dared to add new things

And those things were then locked onto to the detriment of everything else in the future. Sparks were a concept invented by Beast Wars but have pretty much taken over. Both G1 and Beast Wars benefited from being allowed to experiment. nothing since has really had that freedom.

>Robots turning into animals and vice versa is more fun than bots to vehicles and vice versa.

What seems to work best is having a variety. The original toyline had cars, trucks, military vehicles, jets, real world scale objects (cassette players, guns, cameras, microscopes, etc.), robot insects, robot animals and robot dinosaurs.

>>23567712
>I'm still kind of annoyed Energon shifted to a 3D animation. It's a major reason I never watched it after the GOAT finale of Armada.

3D animation is cheaper and faster to animate for large episode counts, but ironically doesn't really allow for "guest robot(s) of the week" that ensemble mecha shows like Transformers need in order to succeed.
