>please explain this to me

> To preface, I want to express that I adore both 00 and Wing equally, as they both hold a special place in my heart. Some of my favorite characters, as well as the mecha designs, from the entire franchise live in 00. However, many times during this recent resurgence of Wing posting, thanks to the 30th anniversary celebrations, I’ve encountered this strange sentiment suggesting that 00 somehow “improves upon the formula” that Wing set up so effectively.

>I believe 00 is a solid series. It features some amazing ideas, and its overarching theme of communication is both timeless and well executed. However, in my eyes, those ideas are nothing like Wing’s in any way, shape, or form. Both shows convey very different messages with their content, and there is very little overlap between them. In fact, outside of the basic premise of “multiple protagonists fighting against a larger organization,” I don’t really see any notable similarities at all. Hell, they’re not even a cohesive team in Wing until maybe the last ten episodes! Before then, it’s all solo or duo (or Duo) adventures as those little idiots bounce around the Earth Sphere, lost in their own motivations while the world changes dramatically around them. Celestial Being, at least, is unified from the very beginning and remains so with essentially the same goals throughout, bless them for their commitment.

>So please, in your own words, comment on this topic for me. Tell me what you truly feel is identical from show to show. Or if you agree with my perspective and just don’t see those similarities either, please share that with me as well! I genuinely want to open up a t discussion on this!

The are both about a group of armed gundam terrorist trying to take down a corrupt government and establish world peace with a main character whos a massive autist and a staunch peace princess
The difference is 00 is actually well written and the villains are not completely retarded like Zechs and Treize where
Of course they arent 1-to-1, if they where 00 would be bad

>Reddit spacing-kun is OP
You're a faggot, OP, you know that?
Both are literal dogshit designed by, for and of midwits.
SEED is better. Except Destiny past Angel Down.
The best 3 pilots in the CE, Kira Yamato, Rau Le Creuset, and Shinn Asuka would steamroll AC and AD pilots in terms of skill. The only advantage Wing pilots have is Gundanium is invincible except when the writers choose to have it not be invincible, and in 00 their tech is pretty OP in an attempt to be better than everyone else.

When compared to Wing, yes

I like them both but can't think of a single thing 00 does "better". Setting, music, and ESPECIALLY the mechs and characters 00 just gets mogged.
You have to go into some lesser meme categories to find things where 00 gets the "win", but those are things that don't affect enjoyment level of the show. Like having an actual villain to hate in Ali/Nena while even the bad guys are cool and likable too in Wing. Or having grunts be any semblance of a threat which they eventually became in 00, while the ol Gundanium alloy just repelled any shot not fired by Zechs or Treize

The only thing Wing has going for it are cool mechs toonami boomer, the story is dogshit and 00 clears by a mile

I prefer the Gundams in 00 but the Grunts and not-Gundams are better in Wing.

>Gundam Design
Wing takes this. Gundams are gundam shaped as one would expect. 00 gundams are very weirdly angular and depart from more traditional designs. When compared across the cast between the two, Wing's are just better designed.
>Grunt Design
Wing still mogs anything not UC for it's grunt designs. Outside of the Flag, 00 doesnt have any real iconic grunt that stands out. And as cool as the Flag is, Wing simply has more solid grunts in it's lineup.
>Character Design
The pilots of both look gay as fucking shit. So this comes down to Big Tiddie Bridge Crew vs Aura Farming Aristocrats, and as much as I enjoy Sumeragi's Twin GN Drives, the designs of Noin, Trieze, Zechs, Une, they are just better done.
>Plot
Very similar. First half of 00 is better than first half of Wing, but Wing finishes stronger, and Endless is better than Trailblazer overall.
>Animation
00, easily. Wing reuses too much.

I think 00 revisits concepts of Wing but it isnt Wing, nor is it better.
