/m/ is a board for fake mecha fans.
>>23538143Fuck off drool
>>23538143>confession account I miss having Tumblr
These are the easiest directors to come away with right wing views from. No I don't care that they're leftists themselves.
I don't get my worldviews from cartoons spoken in a language that I don't understand.
they should behead people who post twitter ragebait images on 4chan
>>23538312Preferably in public on live television.
>>23538143Using fiction to dictate your world view is very weird.
I mean it's not that crazy given that there are people who watch UC and come out with boners for the space nazis and man who attempted to blow up Earth because he was robbed of his ex slave loli wife. Sage goes in all fields.
>>23538154Most of these directors get netto-uyo accusations, so I'm not even sure it's accurate to call them leftists.
>>23538154The latter is true but the former...That's not true in the slightest.
>>23538312>>23538316Radicals
>>23538143Who is he quoting?
>>23538312hear hear
>>23538593Oh. I disagree though.
>tourist thread
>>23538143Leave Xitter on Xitter, faggot.
>>23538361Tell that to all the Tominofags here.
>Tomino >Brain Powered: Mom's really need to stay at home, guys. Let me reiterate. >Victory Gundam: Women are too idealistic to be effective leadership. (Also just the Shrike Team in general.)Im not the biggest fan of either show but those don't seem like progressive views...
Remember when /m/ was good?
>>23538938Yeah, it's almost like people have different opinions on different social topics and the two party system is stupid and fails to properly satisfy anybody.
>>23538952That was like... Before Code Geass and Gundam 00.
>>23538952The Build Fighters days were fun.
>>23538938Meh.
>>23538143>troon pfp
>>23538143I knew Oshii was always a chud, man literally wrote Wanwan Meiji Restoration with Tetsuya Nishio and it's a big reason why i don't laugh him off labeling himself some dumb shit like an emperorist, cause it's full of him justifying the invasion of Korea(his reasoning was to take Korea before Russia, cause Japan treats them better). Plus, he supports trashing Article 9 n supported Abe Shinzo. Same case with Tomino, people love to laugh at people complaining about Gundam not being political, but Tomino himself made it political when he wrote a gundam party catchphrase for the centre-right party "Your party" in 2011
>>23538980Meh to the shows or meh to the viewpoints?
>>23538468>he was robbed of his ex slave loli wife.Nevermind that all the men on this website are perpetually analdevastated about modern civilization because they believe they were robbed of their -potential- slave loli wives
Is /m/ hated nowadays because it has way less /pol/ talk than most boards?
>>23539053Yeah, we have to many series with self contained politics to worry about allegory to the real world.Zeon vs. the Federation gets us more heated than Right vs. Left.
>>23539054Fuck them Zeeks, Titans didn't go hard enough. We should have dropped Australia on Side 3-ramming it in colony by colony. Also the Titans didn't gas anyone, but I wish they did. TSD.
>>23538143actually learned something from a twitter thread, my goats masami obari and akira yasuda are netuyokus
>>23539054I think people like to project their own ideologies into Zeon vs The Federation which is why people get so angry about the idea of who was "good" or "bad" in the conflict, though often that doesn't align perfectly with "left vs right" binaries either since its closer to Atlanticism vs its opposition.
>>23539053I really hope it's because of jealousy due to their boards being overrun by politically charged people instead of genuinely wanting to inject a lot more /pol/shit on /m/. It would be really sad if that's the latter
>>23539053>Not enough politics/outrage>Not enough Gook and Chink shillingYes, /m/ will always be hated
>>23539053https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/18580676/#18584077ages ago my /pol/lack neighbor and I came to the conclusion our slow-but-not-/po/-slow pace plays a big role in it>>23539054true contolism has never been triedtbdesu I think this helps too, there's enough bullshit in-show politics that we can flex memes but not really get too heated about the irls attachedthen the actual politics informing the shows we're on about are usually decades-old and Japanese, so they rarely map to anything going on in English-speaking pop politics
>>23539053What the fuck are you talking about no one knows this board exists or cares if they do
>>23539054Coordinators take natural jobs and must be removed from the workforce
>>23539218on faster boards you can say some dumb normie politics shit and twelve other people who only came to do the same will all respond to younobody comes to /m/ for that
>>23539703>normieThank you for being respectful and inclusive towards us lgbt folx and not using the normalf*g slur. I know that took a lot of restraint.
>>23538143It's weird how much mental gymnastics goes into getting Oshii into your ideological corner. I get it with Tomino cause he throws shade left and right, but Oshii is your reactionary nationalist guy and has been that for decades
>>23538143>>23538154>>23538593Tomino isn't even a leftist, at most he's like a Clinton/Obama-era neoliberal.Just going off his works his political opinions haven't changed much if at all since CCA.G-Reco is his latest work and its conclusion is having the characters go on a global diplomacy mission. Nowhere in that story is the idea of some violent revolution ever condoned. If anything the main theme of G-Reco is basically Tomino going "You guys have no idea how devastating war is, you should seek peaceful methods of changing the world".If you want that kind of leftist "we need to burn it all down" sentiment look at Eureka Seven and Code Geass instead.
>>23539034Meh to your irrelevant garbage shit face opinions. Now go fuck off & get shot in the neck for your "viewpoints".
>>23539034Hold up....>>23540390ignore that post anon. My mistake. >Meh to the shows or meh to the viewpoints?Neither. I don't think tomino himself or any of these directors put a lot of deep thought into any political alignment including with the shows. And i think that's for the best. Left vs right is not really applicable to this.
>>23539703This. >>23540047>Tomino isn't even a leftist, at most he's like a Clinton/Obama-era neoliberal.This. He does say what one would consider to be conservative-adjacent opinions on some topics like with women. But i don't believe he's on any real side. He's very moderate at his core in my opinion.
>>23540047>G-Reco is his latest work and its conclusion is having the characters go on a global diplomacy mission. Nowhere in that story is the idea of some violent revolution ever condoned. If anything the main theme of G-Reco is basically Tomino going "You guys have no idea how devastating war is, you should seek peaceful methods of changing the world".>If you want that kind of leftist "we need to burn it all down" sentiment look at Eureka Seven and Code Geass instead.THIS SO MUCH THIS. HOLY FUCK. Both E7 & CG do reek of that left wing extremist energy in their shows. I can't really elaborate or articulate to why though. But its abundantly there with those series & some others too.
>>23540407>THIS SO MUCH THIS. HOLY FUCK. Both E7 & CG do reek of that left wing extremist energy in their shows. I can't really elaborate or articulate to why though. But its abundantly there with those series & some others too. It's because the creators of those shows are from a younger generation and don't have as much direct experience with war vs Tomino who was apart of the generation that was born and grew up during and after WWII.They only know that Japan that basically serves as America's unofficial east asian state. They hear stories of old Imperial Japan and have a longing for it. Gym in Turn A and Cumpa in G-Reco are examples of that.\E7 is a bit more liberal though, it doesn't have the same Imperial Japan undertones(or rather overtones) as Code Geass.
>>23540400When it comes to social issues he favors traditional roles for women, and diversity, but it's in a very late 20th century sense and nothing like 21st century idpol. He doesn't think women should be on the battlefield, and wants them to have more supportive roles. He often exhalts motherhood in his works and has women leave the battlefield to become moms. All reads pretty conservative, but he also occasionally includes a crossdresser or something and has racially varied casts while not making a deal out of it. Which obviously isn't on the level of a modern identity politics leftist, but isn't the most conservative thing to do.
Bump
He also pushed for Guin in Turn-A Gundam to be canonically homo.
>>23539318Space Gommunism honestly sounds like a smarter idea then Lacus and Kira's "dude freedom just trust me bro it'll all work out"
Chicken wing >
>>23540468just makes it even more right-wing, yaoi is chud adjacent and coined by 2 boomer conservatives that repost a lot of right-wing stuff
>>23538143Keep xitter shit on xitter.
>>23539071I see that get slung alot. Is there any sources for it?
How the fuck is this twitter screencap thread still alive?Do those hotpockets muchers even do their job?
>>23540640Referring to Obari in particular.
>>23538143Are they making bots for boards outside/pol/ and /b/ now?
>>23540642>hotpockets mucherskek
>>23540640The thread looked to mostly point out that he follows a bunch of right-wingers and retweets some conservative politicians. I know he did an illustration contest for the LDP, which you had to turn Abe and Ishiba into a Yurukyara mascot for use in LDP merchandise/promotion to attract youth votes. It was run by the LDP net supporters club, and you can see how doing art for a party to use during a big election stirred shit. Could never find the Abe art, but the other is around, and it's just a mecha Ishiba, as he is a massive mecha and war tabletop fan to the point Oshii invited him to a lot of debuts.
>>23540390>>23540395That's uh... Quite a tone shift.
>>23540644Yes. The jay gets spammed with OT posts about gaza/israel complete with images and they do not get deleted.
>>23540780>retweets some conservative politiciansNot really, stop spreading misinfo.
>>23543169>tweet shows him shilling for some boomer rw politicians>no theres no way he would just unfathomably retweet some conservatives!just a retard looking to bump a shit thread
>>23543237>make shit up>get called out>act like a retardBravo.
>>23543169You know you can just ask for some examples posted in the QRTs of that twitter thread? He follows stacks of Japanese right-wing pundits, Trump and other republicans, and thats easy to look up yourself.
Didn't Oshii go on a rant about today's art suffering because of leftwing censorship relatively recently?
>>23543443Yep lolhttps://nichegamer.com/ghost-in-the-shell-director-mamoru-oshii-says-political-correctness-has-made-western-games-terrible/
>>23543443Damn. Oshii got hooked in into the right wing propaganda rabbit hole. Even his talking points are typical. Gaming has simply expanded its range of content. Yeah, the censorship is shit (especially in rereleases) but that's less of a leftwing cause & effect but more of a corporate strategy to sanitize content at attempt to reach the widest audience. Gaming has not gotten worst unlike anime.
>>23543497Lefty cope.
>>23543437>2023Wow it's fucking nothing.
>>23543540Why are you self reporting?
>>23543525Gaming is at its best than its ever been. I'm not pretending otherwise. We got so much good shit on top of being able to play ANY old games imaginable.
