How has Bandai genuinely failed to make a G Gen game better than Overworld?
>Genesis was fine but no AU means content feels samey
>Cross Rays was boring and the DLC being pay to not play the game was indefensible
>Eternal is gachashit
It's mindblowing to me that SRW can be so consistently good with the VXT trilogy, 30 and Y all being fantastic while Bandai refuses to make a good GGen anymore.
>>
anon, overworld was a content recycle from world which was a content recycle from wars which was a content recycle from spirits. it's a very low bar to make a good game when all you need to do is just scramble some random level design and add maybe 15 new animations.

>no AU means content feels samey
what the fuck does that mean, tomino UC and the 90s ovas and the countless other OYW spinoffs are very different tonally
>>
But anon we have GGET now
>>
>>23538946
That game that's taking multiple years of roadmaps just to cover the basic storylines of the included series?

>what the fuck does that mean, tomino UC and the 90s ovas and the countless other OYW spinoffs are very different tonally
I guess he meant every content is just trivialized by fielding Unicorn, not like there's any other MS to use unless you want to lose
>>
>>23539004
G Gen has never required you to make compromises to progress, you are encouraged to grind out your favorites to make them viable.
>>
>>23539037
G Genesis actually has a hard cap on early UC suits. It's a problem pretty unique to it that even Cross Rays avoids (although of course, you still have the issue of early suits often having bad movesets if they aren't a main Gundam or something).
>>
>>23539064
Yeah, investing big into my favorite characters with poor stats was one thing, but I couldn't really justify it with my favorite suits that are early UC or early-series AU that have the most basic ass attacks. Not when there's Neo Zeongs and shit out there that can wipe half the map with one attack
>>
>>23538552
G Gen F was the last good G Gen, its the one that actually celebrated being a Gundam game, featuring all the shitty obscure showed only in 1 panel manga MS and stuff. of course it didnt feature all of it, but it did its hardest.

new G Gen is just a SRW lite that has a shitty grind
>>
>>23538591
>just scramble some random level design
Still way better level design than Cross Rays.
>>
>>23538961
Yes because they don’t want it to die in 4 months you retard
>>
>>23540506
Do you work for them? No one cares what their strategy for making sure "line goes up" is.
It's still a super incomplete game when you compare it to other full G Gen releases, which is what OP is doing. Hell the current "event" is just a FOMO repackaging of base game Crossrays content.
>>
I don't understand the point of these games when most of them lack any sort of crossover scenarios or original mode. They don't have any real difficulty and usually have zero story so you might as well just watch the animations on youtube instead of playing the game. Same experience.
>>
>>23538591
>overworld was a content recycle from world which was a content recycle from wars which was a content recycle from spirits
You're making it sound like Overworld is a fully refined game built from their old game's foundation, making it the definite, best version of G-Generation.
>>
>>23540572
There's no animated scenes. Well, except for that one set of stages, but yeah, there's nothing here but retreading other stories. It's not the game for you if you were wanting to get attached to any type of story or characters at all.
>>
>>23540594
I mean the attack animations. That's the main reason to play these games and you can just watch them elsewhere. Like if the games weren't absolute cakewalks then playing through the series might be fun but how many times can you play through the same scenarios before there just isn't a point?
>>

>I mean the attack animations. That's the main reason to play these games

..? How many times can you watch the same attack animations before there isn't a point? I turn off the animations a few days after I started playing Eternal. It just makes each stage take so much longer to finish if I wait for each animation to play, and I just do that for every strategy game I play, not just G Gen. I mean, I'll watch every new attack animation two or three times, but there's very little to get excited for when it's quite literally the 800th time I've selected this attack to kill an enemy with.

>but how many times can you play through the same scenarios before there just isn't a point?
bro there's a skip button and autobattle button right there

the only reason we have to replay anything is only to farm for item and material drops for crafting
>>
>>23540624
You replay the same scenarios every game with minor variation.
>>
>>23538552
GGET is better than Genesis and CrossRays.
idk why they want this series to be extremely slow paced and grindy af when they can just make it SRW but Gundam-only
>>
>>23540754
Eternal is just as grindy as ever if you play it traditionally, they just added 'skip gameplay ' currencies to not fix the grind but circumvent it entirely. They also put a hard cap on everything so you can't just cheese with your favorites, which is my opinion the whole reason you'd want to grind in a game like this in the first place.
>>
>>23540572
Recreation of the series in SRPG form, but giving you ability to use any characters and MS you collect through various means each game.

Yeah, I know some people complain about the retellings, but it's kind of the point of the series. Note they only do SRW-like plots in games where there's a limited selection of suits and character, so they wouldn't even be able to do actual retellings even if they wanted.
>>
>>23540754
A certainl audience genuinely enjoys endless character progression and grinding in games like this. The Disgaea series almost entirely survives off this appeal too.
Eternal can't really itch that scratch by design because they want to promote unit variety and team balance in that game, so you can't trivialize live events and are incentivized to try the gacha.
>>
>>23540754
Even though it'd be a long time from now I'm just sitting here waiting for EoS and for them to repurpose it for a console. I know I've seen a few old mobile games do that so I can dream
>>
>>23541333
I've been playing Eternal since pretty much the start and I've had fun with it and hope it lasts for a while, honestly, and a part of that is admittedly hoping that when it does eventually end, they do something like this and put it on console/steam with all the content it gathered up over time. It'd be a pretty sizable spread of content by then.
>>
>>23539320
A lot of the post game secret units have basic ass move sets too fit some reason.
>>
>>23541372
I liked it at first but I completed the main missions faster than they could release them and I only like the events that treat them like a normal story missions, but those also frustrate me because it just seems like their time limited purely to force engagement.
>>
>>23541499
For what it's worth, those ones are being brought back in a permanent capacity as per the new stream, similar to how those event fights to earn specific units let you challenge old fights.
>>
>>23540572
Because what other games let me pilot a GINN Long Range Reconnaissance Type or a squad of cool MSV suits going through mid UC events? They have lots of cool suits to use, and the turn based combat is fun when you get into the flow of it. I'd imagine it's a lot less fun if you don't use custom pilots to imagine their own stories or just run the strongest suits and facerape everything with some tacky piece of shit
