Those random Japanese combiner robot toys like the Mickey Mouse combiner, the Toy Story combiner, and the Thomas the Tank Engine combiner have more effort put into their design and look better than the actual official Toho Kaiju Megazord. That shit should be one of the most amazing-looking things ever and it's just sorta "meh."

>>23559134There's something about this sequence... The energy to it, the vibe... Maybe it's the music, maybe it's the way Godzilla and King Caesar just flail about helplessly. Something that later movies with Mechagodzilla just haven't been able to recapture. And I think even Toho knows this, as they stopped doing "all out assault" sequences with Mechagodzilla after 1993.

The 2017 movie turned the Megazord into Michael Bay Transformer metallic mish-mash and all the original Zords in the Boom Comics are just thrown together without much thought put behind their design. Unfortunately, as lame as they are, the Kaiju Zords are probably the best ones (although maybe those were IDW and not Boom?).

Overall Kiryu is my favorite but I respect the Heisei Series arsenal, this is probably the strongest the JSDF has ever been in Goji movies.
