Why is the vast majority of tokusatsu lost media? There are so many that you can never find information on anywhere, except in the most obscure corners of the internet. Countless shows whose details are known from rumors and others that sound like creepypasta
apparently most of the old pokemon anime never got any home video releases in japan so if that doesnt get anything Im not sure what other TV programs you can expect to be well preserved

Why are zoomers obsessed with 'le lost media'?
Because Japan had no rerun or syndication culture so everything that wasn't a film that showed in theatres was designed to be fleeting and disposable. It aired exactly once and then was expected to be forgotten about as the next thing came out. Occasionally it would get a mention in a magazine or something at best. And other countries weren't that much better. That's why the BBC just straight up destroyed old film to make room in their archives and some tv shows from the 70s and 80s have impossible to renegotiate music licensing. The idea that anyone would want to watch something decades later just wasn't something people conceived of until the late 90s or so.
>>23554673Someone has link to HD version of this chart?
I don't think anyone expected a generation to go super hard with the "omg bros we found the lost spanish dub of the pilot for a baby show!", but then the internet happened.
>>235547881Kx3KI don't know how much more HD you can get.
>>23554714Rapid increase in autismos using the internet, general curiosity into something that you can’t get your hands on and the desire to be a niche micro-celebrity for finding something others couldn’t. Fair enough if it’s something that actually does need preserving like actual episodes of shows or movies that haven’t been logged, but when people are organising search parties to track down the lost Russian dub of episode 274 of Two and a Half Men, that’s when it loses me
>>23554683Pokemon did, sort of, they were just rental only.
>>23554673I wouldn’t say the vast majority but the early days of Japanese television are the most unknown when it came to these topics, many shows do survive indeed but others like tezuka’s puppet shows and say messenger of allah are unfortunately very hard to find, in Japan these are referred to as phantom works or something among those lines. Now the one off live action direct to video material is a different story, at the very least more and more have been gradually showed up online but I can see why, many had limited tapes made and most were done by amateurs, mighty lady has the honer of being produced by daiei humorously enough and had a revival.
>>23554714Creepypasta.
The thing I want to know more about is why there's such a correlation with western toku fans and aggressively doxxing and sexually threatening underage girls online.
>>23554714Why are you obsessed with "le zoomers"?
>>23555060>westernJust say americans.
>>23554714they want to feel like they're special with "forbidden knowledge". they refuse to admit that new toku blows old toku out of the water is every single aspect from writing to effects to choreography. shows pre-2005 are pretty much unwatchable with just how bad they are

>>23554673Because fags in spandex aren't worth saving, obviously.
>>23555064how does even such a masculine genre with no homosexual tumblr themes attract so many trannies?
>>23560370Because it's aimed at kids.
>>23555863Half of all mecha pilots are fags that wear spandex in the cockpit.
