How will the Ukraine war influence the next gundam show/movie?
>>23562504there will be a gundam pilot that becomes a hero until the people find out he doesn't exist and then they just shrug
Both sides will be using the same MS just in different colors. Rebels will disable a not-Zaku via FPV drone with a mortar round taped to it. Also, cope cages for the head units. And the soundtrack will entirely be dadrock because for some reason that's the music of choice for Ukrainian drone kill montages. Although being serious, I'd actually really like to see not just Gundam but more military fiction in general get more into the defense logisitics side of things. That's by far the thing I've found most interesting from the limited following of the conflict that I do. I missed a trick not studying that kind of shit in college, just didn't know that nothing satisfies my 'tism like a well functioning, international munitions supply line.
>>23562504A third party sick of both goes to war with both fractions
>>23562504Drones(even more then wing),ERA, and mad max add-on armor
>>23562504There are a few main technological/political themes that should be covered, in the same way that IBO had major themes of rebel groups/PMCs that were common in conflicts of the 2010s like the Syrian Civil War and Donbass War.First, the breakdown of international order needs to be a major emphasis in the show. Space-Ukraine being failed by the feckless Space West would echo some of the Federation's incompetence from 0079, and also mirror the apprehensiveness and outright hostility of the Biden and Trump governments toward Ukraine respectively. This can be contrasted with Space Russia having transactional but loyal allies who provide it with essential supplies (Space Iran and China) and hordes of disposable troops (Space North Korea).Second, the democratization of mobile suit technology needs to be a major focus of the show. Drones in Ukraine are constantly being updated by frontline units and dozens of startups who pump them out by the thousands every month. This can be emphasized by devoting time towards the development of countermeasures by the main cast and villains throughout the show at a rapid pace. In addition, re-purposing donated gear for new tactics (like the Patriot battery ambushes Ukraine pulled off), could be used to have old gundam concepts like funnels pulled off in a new way. Third, would be the importance of adapting to changing battlefield conditions with new ways of motivating soldiers and propaganda. For example, Ukraine recently implemented a system where regiments gain "points" for high value kills with drones that can then be exchanged for high tech gear and new drones. The usage of mercenaries and penal legions by Space-Russia could be shown to contrast with how IBO depicted mercenaries.
>>23562504Already did>cope cages>tank track armor>wooden logs armor
>>23562504The protagonist will be a tranny
>>23563080Would be fighting for AZOG then in that case.
They fight only on Earth, duh.
>>23562504I remember reading somewhere that military analysts were surprised at the performance Ukrainian personnel considering their average age is 45.Looking it up the average Russian soldier has also gotten a lot older rising to 38 after burning through a lot of younger troops early on in the war.Gundam likes to have teenagers as pilots so maybe an aged up cast next time.
>>23563099Dude, I love Azock!
>>23563072this show fucking sucks though
>>23562504funnels. funnels everywherei think if they really wanted to do it, they'd have to have it be a war where gundams have to contend with becoming obsolete in a battlefield that is more and more dominated by cheap remote controlled beam weapons.it'd be like how in the one year war mobile suits fundamentally changed warfare.
>>23562935This is a good answer
>>23563742>they'd have to have it be a war where gundams have to contend with becoming obsolete in a battlefield that is more and more dominated by cheap remote controlled beam weapons.Unironically that sounds like a good plot>main cast gets taken out by a FPV drone probably the size of a Ford F150 >Zeon posts the footage online
People keep posting about how drones would change everything like super heavily armored vehicles that can't be penetrated by regular anti-tank weapons, and can operate entirely independently with fully sealed cockpits+surround cameras and manipulators aren't the direct counter to them. Many mecha settings already have crazy good ams systems for taking out massed expendable weapons. You're putting up today's problem against tomorrows solution.Besides, farewell to weapons already had drones vs mechs and it was excellent, and a lot more fun as a back and forth combat than any masturbatory "what if da gundam trip over and die and soldiers say heh what hubris, drones are the future!".
>>23563742>cheap remote controlled beam weapons.maybe start the conflict with something like a cross between a mobile doll, a Ball, and an IED- a jerry-rigged remote-controlled civilian piece of equipment that's used en-masse to decimate purpose-built mobile suits through sheer numbers and ambush positions. Shoals and fields of leftover minovksy particles would be a stand-in for the forests and cover in Ukraine, where any attempt at breaching is met with several "remote-piloted" bomb-laden worker pods rocketing towards your position. Later on, when the resisting forces start really innovating is when they start slapping on E-pacs and surplus beam spray guns onto the pods.Hell, you could probably force it into UC by having fanatical Zeon Remnants trying to reclaim one of the surrendered Sides, which due to Federation incompetence and politicking means they're more or less on their own and have to make do with what they got. Or if you wanna go "Zeon din du nuffin" angle, a colony resisting the last attempt of the Federation at consolidating its space holdings at the very end of the UC calendar. It doesn't even have to be "this weapon changes all of war forever," it could be "this weapon, right here, right now, is most suitable for the current battlefield situation, and how do we best leverage it?"
Hopefully they wont because it would be terrible because ukraine is terrible. I'm sick of these thinly disguised /pol/ bait threads too on every board lately. What is up with that?
>>23562935>the usage of mercenaries and penal unitsBoth sides have them fyi so you would alos have to show how lack of resources cause both sides to do pretty shotty things such as end of One Year where kids were getting sent to the front
>>23562935>>23564440Difference here is everyone id desperate from tone death governments trying to please people who haven't seen the war once
>>23564278>really innovating is when they start slapping on E-pacs and surplus beam spray guns onto the podsWait until they find out they can put arms and legs on them to use ambac, and take out the explosives and put a pilot inside for more reliability.
I don't think we will see a Russia-Ukraine inspired /m/ show in this timeline. The conflict is too much of a Jungian shadow for the developed world unlike wars in middle eastern or southeast asian slums.
>>23565132Not if it's based in Earth. Ideally, basing a story on the Russia-Ukraine War and slapping in mecha can work if you have the backstory that mankind took to the stars and made colonies on multiple systems beyond the Solar System. Just involve alien technology being the reason why mankind was able to make colonies beyond the Solar System.
>>23565132Could just be space slavs, like the other anon said drone warfare/funnel spam would make it coo
>>23562504>M'QUVE! WHERE THE FUCK ARE DOMS?
