I think what I miss about old UC Gundam was that it always had a sort of "Retrofuturism" where it looked back as it looked forward. The original always had a WWII vibe that I loved. Even when it deviated for that aesthetic it still picked another era to look back to, like how 08th looked back at the Vietnam War. Gwak doesn't look back at anything. I think that's why it bothers me.

Gquacks aesthetics suck because the characters look like pokeblobs and the mobile suits all have ridiculous thunder thighs or are way too skinny ugly EVA knockoffs because they are. Horrible choices of artists for Gundam.
