>pilots regularly see shit like this but choose to fight instead. Is there any space mech series that focus on the beauty of space rather than battling?
Get a haircut hippie.
>>23571533Uchu no stellvia?Houkago no PleiadesCome to think of it, SoL Sci-fi is a niche among a niche.
>>23571533I honestly cannot think of one where a mech is not a purpose built weapon. I guess Witch from Mercury is the close.
>>23571546yeah it seems like such a niche but space is beautiful. i'll check out those series
>>23571556Stargazer Gundam was designed for space exploration, it has a very limited arsenal.
>>23571533Not exactly a mecha title, but Bodacious Space Pirates/Mouretsu Pirates does focus a lot on the beauty of space
Thank you again anons I'll try it every single one of these
>>23571533>>23571566Yeah Stargazer's MC Sven, as taciturn as he is, was one of those kids who just wanted to be an astronaut and explore space but ended up becoming a weapon. The Stargazer gave him his dream back.
>>23571546I haven't seen it, but I heard Pleiades was a commercial for Hyundai
>>23571783Subaru. But the 'commercial' aspect is just that the mahou shojo's brooms make car sounds. It is for the most part a chill mahou shojo show, but they fly to outer space.
A humanoid shape is good for fighting since it can hold weapons and perform maneuvers. Not sure what the point of it would be doing nothing but zipping through the void, so your idea is not really suited to mecha specifically.Sounds like you should watch Star Trek TNG or something instead of anime. They have a lot of pretty nebulae and most episodes have no fighting at all, just wacky space stuff.
>>23573330It's anime, practicality is never an issue. If someone cared enough to make some exploration/ non-combat oriented show with humanoid mecha, they can. Frankly, I'm surprised some CGDCT kirara mag types haven't tried doing this since they've been doing CGDCT on the most random and mundane stuff.
