Will it ever be good?
no
yes
Not while that Balofo faggot is still there.
>>23592224Just use the French one.
>wiki autismfuck off
>>23592224What is wrong with it? I like wikis, they are highly necessary.
>>23592302The wiki editors are autistic and refuse to post information from staff members and Directors shared on social media or interviews. They directors will say something on social media about a Gundam series they worked on, but the wiki editors will scream that it doesn't count and only databooks count. Even when the Directors reveal new information only on social media. Some Gundam Directors even make fun of the databooks on social media. They say databooks are just for fun and not meant to be taken seriously. Or that if the anime contradicts the databooks, the Gundam Director will say that the Databook is wrong and they shouldn't listen to a book.Gundam Seed Director Mitsuo Fukuda is a recent example. He gave a lot of fan interviews promoting Gundam Seed Freedom and made posts on social media. But almost none of the information was shared on the wiki because the editors say it doesn't count.
>>23592319And yet we have Sunrise overwriting Tomino's words regarding G-Reco's placement...
>>23592319Sounds based. Fuck social media and the braindead pricks that obsess over it.
>>23592370Databooks are even worse. You have these Otaku who obsess over it. Even though the databooks say mobile suits weigh less than a WW2 tank. Yet we see Zakus stomping tanks into pancakes.
>>23592408Still less gay than a twatter post.
>>23592408Why do databooks matter? Just go wit what is shown on screen. Problem solved.
>>23592302People under control of it really like control.
>>23592319I'll have to stand with the wiki faggots on this nitpick of yours. Sunrise/Bandai official material is what counts. Staff members word of mouth, specially after the work is done, are informal curiosities.
>>23592446>Sunrise/Bandai official material is what counts. Staff members word of mouth, specially after the work is done, are informal curiosities. Not that anon but please elaborate. Why is one more important than the other?
>>23592224They deleted the entire Ball Type K entry because the editor didn't like that it had a 180mm gun. No explanation given. Just deleted the entire weapons section and replaced it with "Double cannon" with no further explanation. The admin who controls the page won't let anyone change it back.
>>23592224Most wiki sites are run by retards.
>>23592490This
>>23592490True, but not accepting social media horseshit is not retarded behavior.
Defending wikis tyranny = Fucking yapool neovagina
>>23592520It should still be mentioned on wiki.
>>23592370>>23592430>>23592520You're such an loser KEK
>>23592446How stupid. Staff members ARE part of Bandai. There is no difference.>>23592319Is this about when Fukuda said on X that Kira killed everyone in the Seed movie with Mighty Strike Freedom's lightning attack? That there were no enemy survivors from the Battle of the Moon. Then wiki editors demanded databook proof as if the Director stating it himself isn't proof enough.
>>23592224As a general rule of thumb all fandom wikis are fucking garbage, never use them.
>>23592531I think it's when the wiki editors got upset that the the Proud Defender has its own nuclear reactor built inside it according to Fukuda on social media. Thus Mighty Strike Freedom has 2 nuclear reactors to power the weapons. It wasn't mentioned in the databooks which made the wiki editors upset.
>>23592446>>23592370What about staff video interviews included in the official Bluray release? Why can't those be included in the wiki? The wiki staff don't let people use that as a source either. They only allow databooks. >>23592365I don't think they retconned Tomino.
hah, sucks to suck, but I've seen them question databook scans and refuse to allow changes to pages
>all this bitching and moaningWhy don't you anons make your own Gundam wiki like how Ultrafags made two because they couldn't get along?>>23592532According to who? I use them all the time and the decently maintained ones are very helpful when I need to look things up.
>>23592549I can't be fucked to do that, that's like saying "make your own anime if the latest gundam sucked"
>>23592552I maintain a wikia, most of the problem is figuring out how to code. After that you just do the original research and boom, you got a rhythm. It's a learning process.
>>23592549/m/ made their own wikia at one point to archive shit Wikipedia was deleting. then it got abandoned by all but one guy. We need to face it, post-Valverave /m/ got so high on shitposting we don't want to do anything constructive anymore.
>>23592319>The wiki editors are autistic and refuse to post information from staff members and Directors shared on social media or interviews.Sounds a lot like Wikizilla, the staff there horde rare japanese books and don't upload any info from them, wiki's as a concept seem doomed to fail because people are either mentally ill and or too lazy to actually uphold information.
>>23592568Problem with Gundam wiki is that data book information that doesn't align with their head canon gets nuked. They don't know how to source or write up conflicting information properly. >>23592245He doesn't have supreme control anymore? Even that faggot realized it is was a futile effort. Then again his shit contributions didn't give it anymore credit anyway
They refuse to list ALC Encounter so no
>>23592302>they are highly necessary. The internet worked just fine before wikis and if they vanished tomorrow they would still work fine. Things were better when shit was scattered on countless forums and fan sites.
>>23592464They kept Eri and Suletta’s pages linked and treated them as the same person well after the S1 finale because “it would be lazy writing if it wasn’t true”
>>23592568Wikis as a concept ONLY work when you well adjusted normal people in charge. Unfortunately almost all of these people have better things to do. But I was one of those rare people who decided to give it a try.I'm speaking from experience. I used to run a comicbook forum, website, and a run comicbook wikia. I tried my absolute best. Really. I did. I was 18 years old and had a lot of free time in college. I liked reading comics as a kid.So I thought running websites, Wikis, and forums for other comic fans would be fun. That I could share ideas with other comic fans. Man was I wrong!Despite my best efforts, it was an immense uphill battle. I could not believe the sheer immaturity I witnessed on a daily basis. These massive arguments that 30, 40, and 50 year old people would get into about the comic characters. For example, Intense debates that would go on for dozens of pages about "Hulk VS Thor" , and constant insults and snide remarks being thrown around. Not only about who would win, but also how the website should write about them. Constant messages demanding I change the website and wiki pages. Accusations of me being biased. Constant "all caps lock" screaming matches that would go on for days that I would have to break up. People constantly questioning my authority and knowledge. I discovered...I was wrangling a bunch of idiots and retards. These people had mental problems. Every single day I would get back from class and there would be dozens of private messages and notifications from users. For 2 years I did this in my spare time. Managing all of it. Writing wiki pages for comic book characters, moderating the comic forum, etc. I was getting migraines and it was affecting my grades. So one I just walked away. I shut everything down, except the forum, and walked away. I gave control of the forum to a long time user and just left. I still get PTSD. You 40 and 50 year olds should be ashamed with how you act. You made a 19 year old give up.
>>23592589>>23592568>>23592319I feel like the problem here is stuff like what people consider as "canon", which causes a lot of autism.
