The sexiest
i like the aesthetic of dune
HAIL HUMANS AND TAKE HEED
The boring but nevertheless only correct answer outside of the Yamato
I like solar sails
Starship Operators was an alright show

It really is the GOAT
>>23595175Söyokaze
The Sidonia.
Tis a good ship
Kashiba Mikoshi, my beloved.
I am rather fond of the Megafauna
>>23595662it's cool too.
Helmuth speaking for Boskone
It's beautiful.
Naoyuki Kato designs and paintings are really special.
>>23598204Oh wow. Greatest soundtrack ever.
Kikeroga is cooler tho
Green arcadiaBest arcadai
Maschinenkrieger Sternail and Lunadiverd. Both based starships
>>23598959I prefer the other one
>>23597103legitimately a gorgeous series of ships, reaction to the Lensman anime notwithstanding
>>23595070I like my ships designed like deep-sea creatures.
Is EVE cheating?
I have a soft spot for the Ark from Transformers in it's various forms, even just figuring the scale of it having to house Cybertronians, and how it sometimes is a Transformer itself
>>23595136Halo ships are cheating.
There were many versions of the Lovely Angel. I like this one
GOAT
>>23601678Recently played this to see what all the hype was about. And they were right. Their destroyers and dreads are much cooler though
>>23601829How immersive, they wrote the article in some disgusting alien language
>>23601678>>23601566>>23601798Space games specifically in the late 90's and early 2000's had this really mystical and mythical feel
>>23595185There's an angel up in the sky
>>23603820what is this from?
>>23605463It's the Cordoba from Crusher Joe
so that's how they're made
Paranoid Axis Volcano class cruiser
>>23608923Now that’s a name. Here the complete eltreum at 70km to compliment >>23608385
>>23609092Ah, the Santovasku Empire ships have arrived, now we're getting into the weird alien ships so...the ship nightmares are made of, the Shadows from Babylon 5
>>23609972Whatever shortcomings B5 had, the ships were all pure sex
>>23614084Anyone who doesn't like the Starfury is a bad person.
I'm partial to the spacefaring OSHA violation that is the USG Ishimura. 'Planetcracker' is also the coolest sci-fi ship class name ever.>>23601143I like the SR1 but the SR2 is just so fucking clean it's unreal. I kinda like the Cerberus livery though.
>>23615022Was it really an OSHA violation? It only went to shit after the zombie apocalypse started, prior to that they had tons of workplace safety and could even regrow limbs.
>>23616231Well not really, I don't think Dead Space's has any work safety oversight agency at all. It's just a joke about how everything in Dead Space looks like it'll kill you. Even the colony you're on in 2 looks like a death trap that's gonna fall apart if you look at it funny. Sharp edges and automatic doors with no failsafes everywhere. Hell there's places on the Ishumura that just straight up don't have guard rails when you could easily fall. It's one of my favorite parts of the setting.
>>23595086sexy little beast
>>23595102>Hover incredibly low altitude>Fire missiles that just go directly downThis is the most retarded shit imaginable. I'll let you keep the hovering, but literally just use gravity. Why would they not just use bombs? Looks cool though, which really only matters in films.
>>23614084>>23615012100% agreed on this. I love the Starfury. Fun and functional.
>>23617263i dont think bomb bays on spaceships is very conventional
>>23617506Well to be fair, that thing isn't a space ship. It's just an airship, so dunno why it's in the thread anyway. The only real spaceships in the setting at that point are the spacing guild heighliners. I think the houses have ships that can be in space, but all they can really do is orbital shit.
>>23600641oh my god what have they done to the raven
>>23601829I love the stargate designs but man they did not care where the beams came out of any of them.
>>23600762For me, it's the dimensionally transcendental GOAT
>>23616282It's been a while but IIRC that colony was just a temporary settlement meant to prep the planet for cracking
>>23617876that's the Golem, it's a special "Marauder" Variant that can enter siege mode and gets a ton of opening hatches with glowing heatsinks
>>23617547literally all the big ships you see in the dune movies are made for space and therefor space ships
>>23618023I meant the model, covered in boxy shit. used to look smooth. (It has been some time since I played eve)
>>23618020You're half right, it's apparently hovering around the last remaining piece of Titan that hasn't been cracked yet. Sorta semi-permanent settlement.
>>23601844Va te faire foutre
Don't judge me, I have sophisticated taste.
Generally when do you think was the peak of spacecraft design for both America and Japan respectively? For me I'd say maybe the late 1970's to the early 2000's.
>>23608781>that radiator glownoice
>>23619952does lunar war have any sort of condensed lore or animations or do I have to hunt down isolated tweets for random factoids?
>>23620261>animationMaking sure you know about these"part 3" is actually a remake of part 1 and 2https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0UfFNpOsxw
>>23620261I don't think Lunar War is far enough along for there to be much more than a few concept videos. But if you like animations, there's some stuff out there that was made for The High Frontier, a documentary about Gerard O'Neil, the guy who's designs inspired the colonies and societies of the Universal Century. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSsWkooeIds
My people, sons and daughters of Helghan. We are a broken nation...
>>23595536look at how shiny it is!

I think I like lighthuggers more for the idea of janitor/engineer rats more than anything else.
>>23603381so based
You see one of these you better open fire before it opens up, other wise you're going to be overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
>>23623490I'd shoot it just because it is ugly
>>23621588I was always a little disappointed Killzone didn't do more with the spaceships. Helghast and ISA cruisers look cool as fuck.
>>23623781You better because you're about to be swarmed
>>23625043I'll intercept them with the communications lasers of my ecological solar-powered starship
Any recs for high quality starship ani/m/e? The only ones I know are LOGH and Harlock and Yamato
>>23625686Might I interest you in a show by the name of Knights of Sidonia?
>>23625696you guys said that sucked though
>>23625697We're not all the same person.
>>23625686Macross franchise as a whole is chock full of spaceship porn
>>23625686Bodacious Space Pirates.Starshiip OperatorsBanner of the Stars
Let's try this. From the Anime Starship Troopers the Roger Young.
>>23626176She's getting a facelift soon! Too.bad she'll still be a glorified auitcase
I really am somewhat biased towards the blocky design ships you saw from the late 80's to mid 2000's
>>23626176>minmatarnice
>>23627949you somehow managed to put only the ugly minmatar ships in this pic. Except Breacher, Breacher is cool.

>>23631828I hate how these books are so hard to find
>>23631804I hate it. That stupid fucking head. Makes the whole ship look like a diaper.

I recently learned of Dropfleet Commander's existence, and I'm sad that there's so little about it online
>>23631977I think I have a video about these cranked up to watch in a tab. I've seen one guy paint what I think are these models in /wip/ over on /tg/ once. They're all pretty great looking with some good inspirations. Like those guys for example look like a mash of Halo and Mass Effect. Almost like you landed the Normandy on top of a UNSC cruiser.
>>23632308okay the revolving cylinder gun crosses the retardation line and wraps around to being cool again
>>23631977This ships are cool looking, I still have ship for Full Thrust
>>23632862Are those offbrand VF-1 Valkyries?
>>23629569>>23630379I definitely recommend the books Execution Hour and Shadow Point, read in that order, for some really good 40k space combat stories. Someone on YouTube did audio versions of them as well if you want them as background noise, really well done too.
>>23631977For me it's the Shaltari
>>23633000For me it's the PHR. Man I don't even know where to buy these in Australia or who I would play with.
>>23633019PHR ships remind me of Covenant ships which I love. I also really like the Bioficer ships because they look they're 3d printed in-universe. Can you not buy from their website as an aussie?
>>23633070You probably can, but it'll cost an arm and a leg to ship it. Although now that I look at it, still a pretty good deal. 40 for 7 ships which is like 10 dollarydoos per ship for us. Add on the shipping and it's probably still like a third of the price of buying 1 Warhammer model from a store here.
>>23633000How would you even paint this nightmare without an airbrush? So many ridges. It'd be a nightmare and destroy whatever brush you're using.
>>23632875Katana's GZG version of the Valkryes, there are the Japanese ships, I like how the destroyers resemble Zeon Musai crusier
>>23634242
>>23634242>>23634312Never liked Trek ship designs. They're all super samey and the base design they're pulling nostalgia from just looks like a pulpy flying saucer to me. I liked the evil one form the movie mainly because of the sound design on that thing
>>23636341is this the mando dreadnought? They have the coolest ships
>>23636430What is this thing and why does it look like the female reproductive system with added tits
>>23636430Look at the titties on that ship.
>>23625697the show does indeed suck ass but the comic has really cool stuff in itits dizzying highs are sullied by its fetish/harem lows, sadly
>>23636779>sulliedYou mean improved.
>>23595070Kikeroga is cool
>>23636437lost in based
The sequels might be shit but they had some great designs. Always been a fan of Moncal designs and this guy is turned up to 11
>>23637558Sequels to what? Knights of the Old Republic?
>>23636528That would be Nell from Battle Beyond the Stars. And yes, that ship does have boobies
>>23595192Original or remakes?
>>23637751Also, the design was made by James Cameron when he was a special effects guy working for Roger Corman. He figured since the ship had a female AI voice, the outside of the ship should reflect that.
>>23638924sure
I like a lot of Gundam ships, but the Millennium really impressed me.
TIE Interceptor is peak
I really like the Somtaaw destroyers and Dreadnoughts. Their other ships are kinda meh, but the big boys looking like flying bricks is awesome
A big Garn ship with big guns
>>23643846>tug boat saves the galaxySC2 veers too hard towards comedy and parody for me but this part of the premise was great
>>23644253many such cases
>>23595086Fpbp.
What /m/ series does a good job of giving equal spotlight to large fleet actions and the actual mecha?
>>23644538Macross is the only one I can think of
>>23644538Macross is number one for sure. Gundam gets the occasional fleet battle but its 99% MS. LOGH is 99% fleet battles with some fighter pilot shenanigans
>>23644538How about the series Tytania
The almighty Arcadia!Space Pirate Captain Harlock
>>23645147what do the "arms" do? Are they fixed or can it move them around?
It might be a pyramid scheme scam, but Star Citizen has some pretty ships
>>23645894If I get a singleplayer game for far less that its honest production cost I have no problem with whales footing the billsI've spent more money on early-access game that delivered less
>>23647413>singleplayeranon it's a live service game MMO
The Normandy man... no matter how you feel about how the series progressed (or ended especially) that ship was emblematic of the time-honored sci-fi tradition of adventuring around space with a crew of alien pals (and gf) coming to fruition in video games. And nobody has attempted anything like it since.
>>23603688Janeway was such a hypocrite for calling Ransom a traitor for doing what he did. He’s in the same situation as her but with fewer people and an actual science vessel, not a stae-of-the-art light cruiser larping as a science vessel.
>>23603820>How many firing arcs do we want?>Yes.>I see. And what about fire convergence and targeting?>Put enough guns on it, they’re bound to hit something eventually>What about concentrating firepower?>I plan on pissing off a LOT of people in a very short amount of time, so I want my bases covered
>>23633000Ah yes, the classic ‘kindey stone’ ships design philosophy.
The humble Imperial destroyer
this counts
>>23648318
>>23648318Needs more armour.
>>23647464Starcitizen is just the frontstore minigame to fund the development of Squadron 42

Hey guys, who's up for a hunting trip?
Anyone remember DS game infinite space it got many good ship designs
>>23651225>Great ship designs>Trapped in a mediocre nintendo DS game with low poly countsIt's not fair!
The humble space junk collector.

>>23653947You've never heard of Flesh Gordon?Yes there was an adult parody of Flash Gordon called Flesh Gordon
>>23651212I'm up for it.
Best ship and it even comes with a Waifu .Sword Breaker from The Lost Universe
This ship has a potential harem on board, just stay away from the captian
Cute captain and her ship for last.
