Project Aces really needs to make a remake of AC3.

As great as the game is it could really benefit from some quality of life changes like a way to track campaign progress i.e. what route you're on/completed. Also some graphical fixes for issues like the infamous MiG-33 Fulcrum SS reversed control surfaces during rolls.

This is entirely dependent on the skill of the dev team and what that dev team prioritizes. The reason you see bloated unrealslop is because unreal is the default game engine of the industry, like how unity was the engine known for bloated shovelware during the mid 10's.
Project Aces is a team i'd trust to deliver something that runs well while looking good, they've done it before with AC7.

AC7 is based on 10 yr old tech, AC8 seems a lot more technically ambitious (RT lighting, huge scale maps, aircraft debris affecting other NPC aircraft).

The only real problematic parts are that assuming 8 runs on UE5, there's still the running issue of Nanite and Lumen historically shitting things up for people who haven't bought into the latest graphics silicon, which fucking blows compared to the highly scalable state of UE4.
And the gains for it are visual candy, something that ACES does well enough that I sometimes wonder what even does ray tracing and global illumination bring to their style when games like AC6 could look really convincing in still shots.
Honestly I think I'm more interested in hearing what if any VR plans there are for 8, because to me the choice to tell the story from first person screams VR-synergistic game design.
