It just happened that it was a huge hit. Ironically if they'd had a looser contract at the beginning, giving him only Zyuranger for example, and PR was still a big hit they'd have been in a much better position to negotiate for a better contract for more footage. But also yeah for the most part nobody could anticipate the power of the internet and that media would basically be globalized within the next decade.
