>>23618379ACVI 1/2 will be like For Answer when it gets announced alongside Half Life 3
>>23615233>>23615456>I agree. They're already making primarily MP focused games like NR and DB. They might as well make SP only games too. That way they don't have to make mechanical concessions for either types of games, and they can really full ass them.Yeah exactly. This would be the ideal outcome imo. Hope they keep them seperate more or less. So annoying when something you like using gets nerfed due to it being strong in MP. The cannon in BB comes to mind.>alpha legion AC>Yeah I've tried making one before actually, but their chapter emblem's a real bitch to make in the editor. Never got around to white knuckling it. Alpha legion's very sick.Yeah i can imagine, i was mostly thinking about the color scheme. Would also like to do world eaters pre angron with the white/blue color scheme. And ye Alpha legion is my fav chapter, Iron warriors is number 2.>I guess it makes sense that if you thought of that head canon, you'd think of this too.Yeah it does make alot of sense, not the most original maybe but it just fits. And with people like carla and walter around i could see it being organized in the shadows but with no official ties so that it cant be tied to them. And i saw your posts about God hand etc. Dont have alot to say about em, but yeah god hand looks sick. Ive seen The gaming britshows video on it. As for Nioh, i "wanna" play it. But there are so many elements that turn me off, the ugly big dmg numbers and the supposed item grinding etc.

>>23619769Cope harder, retard. You will get AC7 in 10 years.
>>23620126I never get those glorifying-unnecessary-inconvenience kind of mindset.
Finally set some time aside to watch the Secret Level episode, I guess it was alright. 6/10, just like the pilot.
>>23620204The idea behind Left Alive is still cool, it's like a survival horror game but also kinda like those Disaster Report games. Instead of that though we got MGSV but even more shit and tacked on crafting system. And the few times you actually get into a Wanzer they fucking suck to pilot. At least the Yoji Shinkawa art was rad.
>>23620320What about needing actual spacial awareness and the ability to turn properly, as well as engaging with different FCS types is inconvenient? The lack of analog control from older AC games was inconvenient (this was fixed with Nexus and LR). The actual mechanics that make you feel like you're controlling a mech were interesting and fun. Dumbing down aspects of gameplay makes it more accessible and that's not inherently bad, but it inevitably removes some of the charm and entertainment. Things like leg handling and FCS sizes/ranges added a lot to AC and make you engage with fights more. If you can't understand why that's not an inconvenience then I'm sorry for your loss.
>>23620453>The actual mechanics that make you feel like you're controlling a mechYour subjectivity of wanting a crane simulator but not really and hyper focusing on it.That's glorifying unnecessary inconevience..>Dumbing down aspects of gameplaymaking something less craney-like and move on super car so the driver can focus on combat is not dumbing down aspects of gameplayYou don’t actually want a new AC game, you want the same one you’ve already mastered, because it makes you feel superior for having learned the controls. But let me remind you, anyone who spends a bit of time playing any older AC game can do the same, even kids. Why do you think modern fighter jets don’t stay stagnant like their old warplane counterparts? That’s how dumb your complaint sounded to me.
>>23620500continue:I'm saying this as the one who preferred strafing control than the new analog Nexus control.

>>23620500I realize you will never understand my point but I did want to try addressing one thing.>You don’t actually want a new AC game, you want the same one you’ve already mastered, because it makes you feel superior for having learned the controls. This doesn't even make sense, every generation of AC before AC6 was a "new" AC that tried putting in different things that interact with the existing basic movement formula/aiming scheme and they managed to all play differently enough to feel distinct. Both the lock on and free aim in AC6 just don't give the quite the same "robot piloting" satisfaction of previous titles. I think you're projecting with the whole "feel superior" bit as well.
>>23621252Mechanical artist and mech artist are 2 very different jobs.
>>23619407whoa wtf is nioh doing in an armored core thread. i love nioh 2

>>23621450its what i was born to use. ever since i was a kid playing ac 1. just clicks.
>>23621323the RRI clearly put a lot of stock in organic design. the names of all their tech are animals, animal parts or plants. with the assumption that human augmentation and all their gear was in service to their own sort of symbiotic relationship with the coral it makes sense.
>>23621454That you?
For some reason I suddenly feel like my energy is at 30%. Must be the weather.
>>23621519it most definitely is...and probably the time change too, i feel the same way
>>23621416Your glossing over the inconvenience as "robot piloting satisfaction" is why I said you feel superior from it, because that's what you like. The unnecessary inconvenience is fromsoft’s way of experimenting with AC’s controls, it's bound to change and evolve. Yet when it does evolve (like its real-life technological counterparts, which is why I brought up modern fighter jets and old warplanes) and the fights feel more ease, closer, more personal, and actually maneuver better instead of just bunny hopping and seeing whose blast hits first like in previous titles, you don't like it and brush it off as "dumbing down" the gameplay.
>>23621035Decent pic and kek at that filename. Have something similar. Still is that like default paintjob? Pretty boring desu, lazy/10. Great parts matching tho.>>23621295Nice monochrome paint scheme. 6/10>>23621371thats a wild look, just a little too much of the burgundy for me. 4/10
>>23621583>inconvenienceYou know you can """pilot""" a drone by just clicking on the target and it will do all the icky stuff like actual maneuvering for you. No need to concern yourself with all that low level grunt work when the weapons can just evolve and do everything by themselves without your direct or, after a certain point, any at all, involvement. Just sit back and enjoy the show. It should be pretty, like fireworks.
>>23621590Nice rifle docking.
>>23615266
>>23621593You still need to wait the computer to lock on the target otherwise it'll miss. You still need to maneuver it yourself by knowing the timing when to fly fast, when to swerve left and right, when to backflip, etc. What you don't need to do, and what you're hyper-focusing on that make you "feel superior" and AC6 le bad is, wanting the drone to turn it's camera slowly otherwise it's not a drone.Done with your strawman yet?
>>23621602
>>23621583>and actually maneuver better instead of just bunny hopping and seeing whose blast hits first like in previous titlesTo me it sounds like you're the one glossing over things. You dismiss my points as simply being what I like and therefore invalid. If you don't enjoy the movement that's fine, but you not enjoying the older games' movement doesn't make it inconvenient. Also to say its however hits first is incredibly disingenuous because you deliberately ignore the mechanics at play to simplify the concept of 2 enemies lobbing projectiles at each other. If you truly think theres no other movement or strategy happening in the old games other than bunny hopping around limply, I have to assume you didn't play them much. If anything, it can be argued that AC6 embodies "seeing whose blast hits first" much more due to its questionable stagger bar and damage multiplier that allow for instant kills depending on the situation. That doesn't mean I'm going to start saying there's absolutely 0 nuance to AC6 combat though.
>>23621605That's a lot of words being put into another's mouth. Seems like you're the one hung up on feelings fere.

>>23621416>they managed to all play differently enough to feel distinctDid they? You really employ a wide variety of paint schemes, and know what shades to use.Like I don't really like the damascus steel ephemera one too much, but I can't point out any objective flaws with it, just subjective. The purple one's very nice on the eyes. Good example of a little being a lot.The basho one's another good example. The camo pattern with the colors you used do a lot of heavy lifting, but so does that grainy decal you used. Cool touch. The brown one has great part synergy. And I love the emblem you made for it. Looks high quality, like it's professionally made. The shark mouth on the visor is a badass touch. Thanks for taking the time to post all those links and rate so many ACs btw. You're very skilled at designing ACs, and you have great taste.
>>23622902>Yeah, just thought I'd post a clean version.Gotcha, thats fair. Its a nice AC. I know you said that you dont play so much these days. But i would like to see something made by you that breaks from the design language of your previous AC. Your style is really bold and you have great decalwork so would be cool to see your take on a "Red gun" or just a independent merc>Very good understanding of color theory.Great and once again thank you. Your too kind anon. I feel like my decal work can be lacking at times but i am usually happy with my paintjobs>I can't point out any objective flaws with it, just subjective. And yeah the damascus is alot, tho that was my intention since its meant to be this unusual AC using coral weaponry etc. So wanted to give it a alien paintjob. And same to you, its clear that you put effort into your AC. Just that we are going for different styles and you being a PVP player>The purple one's very niceRemind me which one? Is it pic rel? >The basho one's another good examplestill think its funny you liked this one so much considering how different it is in aesthetics compared to your AC's. Did the score change any now that you could see it properly?>The brown one has great part synergy. And I love the emblem you made for it. Looks high quality, like it's professionally made. The shark mouth on the visor is a badass touch.Again thanks, im happy that this one gets some shine. Its my personal favourite out of the 30ish AC's ive made. Also why i tried harder on the emblem wanted it to look good. And yeah the shark face is a fun quirk of the visor on that head part. Obviously meant to be a callback to WW2 fighters etc>You're very skilled at designing ACs, and you have great taste. No thank you for the kind words and encouragement anon! I love this game and i love making AC's in it so its a joy to share them with likeminded people. Again i hope you make some new ones with a different design, IE ones that isnt RRI themed.
>>23622777Bit of a meme with that painjob, but undeniably fitting on a wrecker frame. Tho i think that a laserblade and a pair of sleep laser cannons looks way off on that frame and the heavy duty vibe you got going. 4/10>>23622859Yeah that is vanilla. Not much to say desu.

Really slick design overall.>score change? Not reeeeally. Only things I'd change I guess is I'd try to recreate the decals you used with white in them in the decal editor and make the white sections a little darker and yellower to match with how aged and blemished the AC otherwise looks. Maybe make some scratch marks or burn marks in the editor too, to place around the grainy decals to give them some texture, and help them blend better too.>new designsYeah, you're right. I need to branch out more.I got some shit from my friend the other day for it cause so many of the builds I'd fight him with were so similar. The basho arms with the same RRI logo and emblem placements on most of them is a particular running cliche amongst my ACs, I'll admit.Pic related. As a pvp player, it's been a real demotivator watching the honorable player population shrink, and the pvp cheeser population grow though. I really like showing my ACs off in team lobbies, but they're wasted on double nebula tet and quad missile boat LOADER 4s.I wish /acg/ got together to play. Lack of crossplay is a real nigger though.

But its a blessing doing a mission simple mission like "destroy the transport helicopters" which used to be a cakewalk. Now its filled with MT's and new beefed up MT's that can take some real punishment. Aswell as artillery installations everywhere which really keeps you in check. 2 AC's and a tank C-weapon. So it makes the simple missions proper gauntlets. What they should always have been imo. Still it is a damn shame, i really thought the update that added the shao-wei and LAMM was just the start sigh.>I don’t care about the meta I just use what I find cool.Me either, maybe you got the wrong idea from my little sales pitch. Its not about making meta builds. Its about actually thinking about how you put your AC together instead of just doing whatever with it like you can in most basegame missions. For the record i have made more then 30 different AC's and they all use different weapons/loadouts so no meta here. I just like finding cool combos that work and synergize well.

I finally got around to playing 6 and this might be a weird thing to complain about but I really miss the filler missions where you just go to a random warehouse and kill ten random guys for reasons that don't matter. Sure it was padding that didn't progress the main story but taking odd jobs for cash made you feel more like an actual mercenary and the big missions felt bigger when there were a bunch of small missions in between them.

>>23633124I think anon has a point. AC6 feels like a closed circle, everything that happens in the plot is exclusively relevant to the player and people the player interacts with. Rubicon doesn't feel like a planet, it feels like a theme park. The game makes it feel like there's a maximum of ~1,000 people on Rubicon who all happen to be related to plot critical events and locations and factions and interests.Out of all the ACs you fight in 6? Only *two* are an unaffiliated independent merc who has nothing to do with the plot or any faction. Branch are directly relevant to the events of the game. Nosaac is just a guy, and you don't even fight Gordo Monkey. So really, just one independent out of 29 ACs. So, as Anon noticed, AC6 does not do a good job of making 621 feel like a merc. He serves one plot-mandated corporation most of the game, and in the end is left choosing which voice in his head will lead him to become Jesus of Rubicon, Shiva of Rubicon, or God-Emperor of Rubicon.Remember how in the old games you would see mercs in the rankings whom you NEVER interact with outside the arena? Remember how you could have corporate preference that would build up to the ending choice for the game?
You can play as the Spirit of Mother Will in the new Kirby game.
>>23633277>The game makes it feel like there's a maximum of ~1,000 people on Rubicon who all happen to be related to plot critical events and locations and factions and interests.Isn't that kind of exactly the point? Rubicon is a freshly postapocalyptic shithole. There are next to no irrelevant locations, populated or not, left intact enough on the face of the planet. There are no irrelevant (to the plot) people because all the unnamed grunts belong to the few factions that all are heavily invested in the struggle for the control of the Coral.Everything and everyone in the game are, in some way, revolving around the Coral (and thus the plot) because there's nothing else to do or be for on the Rubicon during whatever time the events of the game are taking place. I'm not telling that you're wrong or anything, it's just that AC6 doesn't just feel like a closed circle, it very explicitly is one. More specifically, it's a burning ring of fire.Rubicon as a setting just doesn't stand on its own, it's far too hyperfocused on the Coral plot with the exclusion of nearly everything else. It feels like the older games had more space to breathe, so to speak, because they were all more or less accomodating for there being random Janes and Joes, whose ordinary lives just so happen to occupy the same general vicinity as the epic struggle for domination between whatever powers were, well, in the power at the time, and the good old random Ravens (plural) duking it out for the shiny C.
>>23626175Imagine being regular infantry and having to deal with a squad of these motherfuckers.
>>23633312>Rubicon as a setting just doesn't stand on it's own, it's far too hyperfocused on the coral plot with the exclusion of nearly everything else. It feels like older games had more space to breathe, so to speak.Thank you for this post. Yeah, that's exactly it. I think for me it's just disappointing because Rubicon *could* be really, really cool. Like the RLF is an example of the cool things you could do, but that's it. Also, when we remember that AC6 was meant to be Armored Core: Dune, and incidentally, was bound to come out as Dune was experiencing major popularity again. If you think of 6 being on a place like Arrakis, suddenly the extremely tight-knit characters and setting makes leagues more sense. That being said, I feel like if the plot of AC6 didn't take place on something the size of a planet, it would feel much much better and less player-fixated. The scale they set for themselves utterly betrays the plot and characters.

>>236339061 is pretty forgiving debtwise, especially when you find the Karasawa. The missions that are really harsh on your AP also come along so close to the end of the game that you should have a bajillion credits stockpiled anyways. That said I do like to go into debt deliberately one time for the free radar from Human+.

>>23634032Ah okay, I've been running MG and the single lock on missiles. I've tried fucking around with other weapons but I didn't like them.
>>23634044Some take getting used, but it's also how it's used. Like quads and slug gun.
>>23634044Some weapons are better than others and a few like the karasawa were clearly designed to be overpowered, but the real "how the hell did this get through testing" weapon was the WM-L201. To put it in perspective, in the second game they doubled the weight, reduced the ammo count by two thirds and reduced the missile speed by like 80%, and you could still make it work just from the sheer damage output. In the first game it's a straight upgrade from the grenade launcher.
>>23634058>WM-L201I still dont know what the fuck they were thinking by giving it over 4k damage. If it was super expensive to use I could kind of see it, but iirc each missile was less than 1k credits.
>>23634032I thought the Karasawa was frowned upon around this parts, both because it's incredibly good while also building bad combat habits as energy weapons don't lead shots in 1st gen.
>>23633312>Rubicon as a setting just doesn't stand on its ownBecause its not meant to stand on its own, its specifically made to support the story of AC6. It saddens to see these opinions when 6 is the most finely-crafted story AC has ever gotten.
>>23632183No i hear you. I would have loved more small miscellaneous missions. Just cleaning up some stuff here and there, still its fitting that all you do has to do with the main plot since literally everyone is here for the coral. So there wouldnt be like local conflicts to put to bed or other smaller tasks like that to handle.>>23633713>>23634035Where do you find updates on stuff like this? Ive bought the ACVI artbook from amazon a while ago. But that was mostly since i happend upon it.
>>23634176>It saddens to see these opinions when 6 is the most finely-crafted story AC has ever gotten.I have nothing against the story. It's just that the story is pretty much all there is to speculate about, unless you enjoy frothing at the mouth at the absolute state of multiplayer. Although I do say that as someone who finds Another Age and V both presenting the closest thing to a quintessential mecha mercenary experience that the series has to offer. The only other games I can think of that did it as well or better, depending on which I'm more in mood for, would be MW5 Mercs and (Harebrained Schemes's) Battletech, since both allowed for pretty much endless dicking around. I don't like Battlemech aesthetic all that much though, so that tanks the score. The other thing is that I prefer the setting being done first and then having the story/-ies fit it. The whole first and second gen feel more like that, having the world that breathes on its own and then the stories that just so happen to happen in it. And I also preferred being a Raven among Ravens instead of RAVEN, THE INDEPENDENT MERCENARY AND ALSO THE CHOSEN HERO TO ALL THAT LIVES but that may be my personal bias. I liked how Last Raven did this with the multiple story paths, you weren't the one and only indispensable to the plot asset, if you didn't do the job, someone else would. You could pretty much do nothing of consequence thorough the entirety of the campaign and be saddled with shooting at some random aerial moving targets by the end of it yet the history would follow its course anyway.TLDR: As finely crafted as it may be, I just don't particularly care about the story, to be honest. I'd rather care about the setting instead.
>>23633998Luckly, those flying shits only appear in the Boulder mission
>>23634353The original game had heavy shades of that too, even though you undeniably were The Guy it still didn't matter which side you picked because neither side was supposed to win. You didn't break the system by being a rebel, you broke the system by being a 50-amp fuse in a 5-amp circuit.
