What do you think,lord?
>>23630635It's good
>>23630635I did not care much about Kircheis, he should have lived a bit longer.
The author shortened the concept of a full-length novel, so it seems like Kircheis died early, but in the overall story, he died fairly late in the story.
>>23630757I don't get it. He died at episode 26, that's the end of 2nd book. There was still lot of stuff.
The Ukraine War is exactly like the characters and geography of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes
>>23630759The original story in the author's head begins with humanity fighting on Earth. In the main story of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, that place is already a remote area.
>>23630760This.It's basically a space opera. I see Putin as Reinhard. Zelensky is Yang Wenli. And they use drones and computers for everything
I like it because if you take it out of context it reads like a Blackadder bit. And I'm reasonably sure that's intentional.
In Legend of the Galactic Heroes, there are many incompetent executives, but honestly, in the real world, incompetent people can't get promoted.
>>23632216>in the real world, incompetent people can't get promoted.John Sculley and bajillion other new CEOs that ruined their companies say otherwise.
Reinhard von Lohengramm"Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?"
favourite opening? and why is it Sea of the Stars.https://animethemes.moe/anime/ginga_eiyuu_densetsu/OP3-BDLyrics
>>23632317i am waiting for you is much better imo
>>23632317Been too long now but it must've been one of the later ones since I remember being very annoyed there wasn't a complete OP/ED collection or a second half one to go with the first
>>23632216lol are you retarded
In general, incompetent or mentally ill people seem to have a tendency to blame others for their own failures or abnormalities. What do you think about this, Brigadier General Folk?
>>23630635When I was young I cared more for the empire. Now that I am older I feel for the poor bastards of the FPA and the Yang Fleet who are decent people who have to deal with stupid leadership and crappy circumstaces.A toast to democracy.
What do you think of the mecha in Legend of the Galactic Heroes?
>>23633452Yang fell into the same problems his superiors did at Astarte, he wasn't willing to compromise ideals in order to achieve results. His circumstances were also a function of their decisions Yang didn't work with Trunhit, try to flex his popularity early on, gain personal power, or try to take advantage of the NSMC, any of which had the potential to put in him in a position to make a greater difference. Beyond that the civil leadership biggest errors were a function of trying to do what they needed to do to stay in office rather than what needed to be done, if keeping their job is a valid priority they were quite capable. Beyond all this Yang hoping for a negotiated peace without any real way to force it was his own incompetence.Reinhard wasn't willing to work with the upper nobility, but he used the civil war to consolidate power. He used unscrupulous methods and his fanatical support of meritocracy only caused problems after he invaded the FPA.>>23636322Fighters and ships look great in the old ova. Its a bit disappointing that there was a lack of details on what the different classes of ships were supposed to accomplish. The alliance scrapping most of its battleships really didn't seem to have much effect, especially in situations like the battle of the corridor, nor did numbers matter as much as they did at Astarte.
>>23636322I usually zone out during the battles, Valkyries and Spartans were nice and the ship using thrusts to turn around looks great.
>>23642171>Yang fell into the same problems his superiors did at AstarteThis is his problem, right here, even if it was for legitimate reasons instead of a poll boost.Everyone wanted him to seize power and he just wouldn't. Even the Empire wanted it since they saw him as a worthy foe. Jessica Edwards dying probably left the impression on him that he should never ever do it even though especially Walter von Schenkopp kept trying to urge him into it.Ultimately I feel more for Reinhard because he went through lower lows and crawled out of both. Even if he wasn't perfect and was a bit of a warmongerer, he was simply more realistic than Yang who himself admits that he only has stuck to his ideals because of being born in the FPA. Whether or not he wants to admit it, it is a matter of pride and "patriotism", even if for a failed and hypocritical state and ideology. He failed to recognize that the ideology itself doesn't matter - the people in charge do no matter the system.
>>23630635It's one of my favorite series.
Why does everyone like to spoil the major deaths and never use spoiler tags?
>>23630635I think our beloved Milky Way Galaxy, may she prosper, should have her Galactic Heroes.
>>23630635Boring
>>23630760>>23631842Crazy Ivans. No, ofc no.
>>23645736Anon, the OVAs ran from '88-'97. It's like feeling spoiled because someone told you that Doc Brown gets a cool wife and a tim travelling train, Robocop is actually Alex Murphy, or that Qui-Gon gets killed by Darth Maul. It's past the point where people who've seen it care about spoiling it to those who haven't. Spoilers for Terminator 2 in the image.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes Novelist Yoshiki Tanaka Suffered Debilitating Hemorrhage Last YearHiroaki Adachi, the head of the Wright Staff company which manages the business affairs of The Legend of the Galactic Heroes and The Heroic Legend of Arslan novelist Yoshiki Tanaka, reported on Sunday that Tanaka had suffered a debilitating cerebral hemorrhage exactly one year ago on November 30, 2024. Tanaka had collapsed that day and was rushed to a hospital. The author has been focusing on rehabilitation since moving into a nursing facility sometime before this past summer.According to Adachi, Tanaka had collapsed at a convenience store near his office, so a store worker quickly called emergency services. Adachi credited Tanaka's survival to the fortunate coincidence that his collapse happened at the store with other people around, and not at his office when he was all alone on a Saturday. However, the hemorrhage left him with damage to his brain that affected his motor functions.Since Tanaka's longtime office was not designed to accomodate people with disabilities, he and his staff were forced to clear out his library of ten of thousands of publications and move out of that office.Nevertheless, Adachi reported that Tanaka has not lost the creative will, as he "still has more he wants to write," and continues to do so in composition notebooks. Adachi asked Tanaka's fans for their patience and understanding, as Tanaka cannot release new works or hold autograph sessions and other events for now — although Tanaka is still striving hard for his eventual return.
>>23630635Finished it three weeks back, it was horrible. The first half I get the appeal of, but the second half was a glorified slog that only needed a third of the run time. I gave it a shot.
>>23630635I was reading a wholesome children manga the other day and got distracted that the girl was watching it.
Hey /m/looking to buy the translated LOGH books by Mr. Huddlestone; I've heard there are problems. Is this the case, how bad are they, and are there any alternatives you could recommend me?>>23650190Oh dear, that's really sad. I'd love to get in touch and send him a thanks for such a wonderful novel series and anime. I just finished watching it last week for the first time and it's one of those things that really stays with you. It made me think about things, for the better.
>>23632216In the real world, social power trumps being competent at your job. If the higher ups doesn't give a shit nor likes you, you're basically gonna be a cuck worker in a cuck cubicle for the rest of your life.
>>23630635probably one of the most internally consistent stories in the medium. it has strong messaging and sticks to it, which is hard to find the closer to present you get.>>23656445what is the source of this panel?
As a native german speaker the constant German out of nowhere is just really strange and takes me out of the storya bitThey are talking in Japanese and then all of sudden some character mutters something about vallhalla and Walküren and whatnot Its really jarring
>>23669182Rudy Goldenbaum had a clear deutschesfetisch(?), the prologue points at him and insinuates how historically tone deaf he was for doing that even if it wasn't intentional on his part.
