>>23630872Like them , but come on.... they all need one or two more attacks.
>>23630872The fact that it took this long for something this incomplete is actually baffling.
>>23630852>but all of their moments are still present, but they are not mandatory for progression.Nah, you don't see Anya defending Lelouch, or Jeremiah leading a distraction, since they aren't even piloting anything. And, no, the guy Cornelia faces had appeared before. But obviously they cut all that since they didn't want to deal with any of it and realize the only ones with popularity that really matter is the main trio.Even then you acknowledge the coats could be dumped even though most of the battle happens with them in the movie, so I don't get why you think the load of WfM units is somehow sacred, especially stuff from unpopular characters like Shaddiq.>To be honest with you, it's pretty obvious they knew how S1 is supposed to end and specifically avoided itIf they were "specifically avoiding" it, they wouldn't have left Guel hanging without meeting the rest of the WfM cast even in the ending. They could also have touched on the Benerit group and done whatever with them (like making them sell random suits to NOAH), but preferred to just keep them on a bubble. Heck, Suletta's pre-boss conversation with the Delta villain has him talking about how he could use the Aerial as the core of his system to connect everyone, so it seems they knew Suletta's mother's plan and yet did nothing with it. All that screams to me, "we don't want to touch on this stuff yet in this universe, but will in the future ", not "we're leaving it to the next game which will have an unrelated AU retelling of the story". They were avoiding it in the sense of avoiding doing anything that could step on its toes, not avoiding it on the sense of diverging the story from it.
>>23630872>>23630879>>23630884Yeah.... no FangJoker or Xtreme, even as attacks, is disappointing. My only hope is that Double and Big O make it in the next game, but since we had no returning units from last game's DLC, it's telling.
>>23630872No Schwartz (again) is disappointing.Beck now has both his ally and enemy cutins… and isn’t playable (makes sense since it’s just Big O season 1?).It’s Big Over.
>>23630887>If they were "specifically avoiding" it, they wouldn't have left Guel hanging without meeting the rest of the WfM cast even in the ending. You don't make any sense, them not having Guel contact anyone from WFM is them avoiding anything apart of S2, since 'bob' never meets anyone from the school.Your other examples are them avoiding ANY sort of diverging of the story, WFM is played straight up until any part that actually setups S2 is involved in which case its just cut entirely.I already said before that all the things people expect as expansion will just be in a different SRW game so I'm not sure where you got>, "we don't want to touch on this stuff yet in this universe, but will in the future ", not "we're leaving it to the next game which will have an unrelated AU retelling of the story".The fuck does this even mean, you aren't even using the right words to articulate what was being discussed
>>23630903I feel like I should save their recruitment stages until later on in the chapters until everyone has joined in case someone else has lines.
>Braiger's theme is actually the song heard in the trailer.Ok, so guess this means Getter will be getting the song that was playing during his showcase in that video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHxv1oD72_8&t=131s
>>23630903More funny Izuru mentality: His VA was Shinken Blue, and guess what? Both Shinkenger and Kamen Rider W were around for a bit in late 2009 before the next Sentai came around in 2010! Talk about a blast from the past!
Hey, the episode names listed for Aquarion on MAL are completely different from the ones on AniDB and ANN. Anyone know why?
Is the DLC supposed to show up after the preview stage or do they pop up a little more into chapter 2
Do you know a man by the name of Roger Smith?
>>23630916Nevermind had to use creampie ro activate it again
>>23630896If W comes back, I'd rather them either wait until the manga's completely done or go full silly and adapt W proper with since we no longer have to worry about the actor likeness or actor problem for a lot of the major players because of the anime + the movie. The only real issue is Isaka (given he doesn't have an anime or manga look) but given that was one of Dan's last roles, just get Yasuaki Takumi to fill in since he's already replaced him as Chronicle in UC Engage.
I just finished SRW 30 as my second SRW game, it was fine enough. I still enjoyed V more. Maybe I'll give Y a try, or X and T.
>>23630902>No Schwartz (again) is disappointing. What? Wasn't he in the recent trailer?>>23630911>so, guess this means Getter will be getting the song that was playing during his showcase in that video.Didn't they confirm Noir was getting an original song like Getter Devolution?
>>23630921Y's good but you can start dipping your toes into the fan translated titles like W
>>23630872Braiger seems fine. Big O only having season 1 attacks is lame. The W units are a massive disappointment, with there being so many missing attacks.
>>23630907They generally don't I played it at the endgame and the DLC generally only give lines to mandatory recruitments at that general time.Like in that image you can see that only the Dynazenon crew, the Getter team and the MJP kids have lines because they're all available early.
it's insane they're charging money for a braiger with no music, a big O with no walking animation, only S1 attacks (minus anchor) and no subpilot, and worst of all, another fucking brasta guy animated unit
>tfw failed to apply for A.Advent Citizenship
>>23630904>You don't make any sense, them not having Guel contact anyone from WFM is them avoiding anything apart of S2, since 'bob' never meets anyone from the school. If they aren't going to do s2, they could just resolve that in an original way though, not just keep things hanging like they'd still do s2.>The fuck does this even mean, you aren't even using the right words to articulate what was being discussedI thought that was simplified and clear enough already.>"we don't want to touch on this stuff yet in this universe, but will in the future "The idea here is that they're avoiding s2 content in a way where they can still go, pick up the story as presented in Y and continue it. The way they avoided running over s2 and just giving their own resolution made it feel like Witch in Y was that.>"we're leaving it to the next game which will have an unrelated AU retelling of the story".This is what you're arguing for. They're just leaving the full adaptation to the next game, in a completely new universe. But, like if they were doing that, why wouldn't they just close tWfM's plot threads in Y anyway? They'd have no problems with involving Benerit with NOAH, killing characters or resolving character arcs contradicts s2, if they had no plans to adapt s2 in Y.Look at Dynazenon in Y for comparison. They didn't hesitate in doing stuff that messes up with the set up of Gridman Universe (like just making the Dynazenon crew part of the real world and the oddities in the timeline of this world that caught Gridnkight's attention being due to Godzilla and Getter Emperor (whereas in Universe them being virtual creations tied to Gridman is a huge part of the story and the oddities are tied to the movie plot), changing the cause of Gauma's death and avoiding it, also obviously the Kaiju eugeneticists being recruitable).
>>23630911I doubt it. They didn't even mention Braiger's theme when listing the DLC themes, while they're advertising "Noir Rumble", so I doubt it'd be such a generic bgm.
>>23630932>The idea here is that they're avoiding s2 content in a way where they can still goIf they WERE going to do S2 in Y then it would make sense to adapt the content that allows S2 to happen, this is why you don't make sense, we're not talking about doing S2 content, we're talking about them avoiding any S1 content that leads into S2>>"we're leaving it to the next game which will have an unrelated AU retelling of the story".>>This is what you're arguing for. They're just leaving the full adaptation to the next game, in a completely new universe. You think this is clear? Its not a AU retelling that's just having the series in a different game, nobody says shit like this, SRW V isn't a AU retelling just because its using Unicorn again.
>>23630932>They're just leaving the full adaptation to the next game, in a completely new universe. But, like if they were doing that, why wouldn't they just close tWfM's plot threads in Y anywaySame reason why they didn't do that with Eva Rebuild, you can't just do that kind of shit without permission.
Does the DLC actually set up a expansion pass?
>>23630942If we want to see 3.0+1.0, they will have to only add it standalone in a different SRW, but not together with the earlier entries for some reason. But for Season 2, it might need some content from other series to make it work, even if it adapts the whole show.
>>23630943lol no
>>23630940>we're not talking about doing S2 content, we're talking about them avoiding any S1 content that leads into S2That content would force the story to lead into s2 directly or deviate though. They put a break exactly when they wouldn't just be left with a huge cliffhanger, just some loose plot threads.>>23630942I mean, it's Gundam. This is Bandai. Look at how they mess with CCA's story here. You think Tomino had anything to do with that?
>>23630951>I mean, it's Gundam. This is Bandai. Look at how they mess with CCA's story here. You think Tomino had anything to do with that? The suits still needs to give permission for plot diverges anon, this is your answer for why they didn't just write their own story in place of the anime.
Stop calling me tourist.
>>23630943The base game has a bunch of loose plot threads already, including freaking Saint Dragon walking around. It just doesn't slap you on the face with it unlike 30.
>>23630953Which is why I mentioned Gundam, since we're talking about Gundam, not a third party license.
>>23630963You still need to get permission to make big changes for Gundam, and no it doesn't mean asking Tomino. You are aware that they can't actually do whatever the fuck they want with Gundam in a given SRW game right?
>>23630964Yeah, I know obviously. But arguing that WfM's story can be barely touched and its villains can't be part of crossover events when we have this game's handling of CCA is just silly.
>>23630969WFM's villains don't do anything in the story because in the context of S1 they actually don't do anything at all, we barely even see their grunts do anything inherently antagonistic in S1, compared to Y's post plot CCA is just>Char's Counterattack happened to a degree but most of the cast still lived before the climax got interrupted. If they were allowed to make large story divergences you'd see it, they played it straight because that's what they were told to do and only changed the cliffhanger at the end pretty much just like how they did with Eva
>>23630928The Roger Stage has Echicka mention she's been recieving negotiation advice from Miroine (early recruit) and Lelouch (much later recruit who only after you do the Geass movie final stage with the time loop), so it's not only early recruits being mentioned
What do you think of these tracks?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCG0i51ReeQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZVSHUTIatc
So, if the first song that played during the DLC trailer ended up being Braiger's theme does that mean the second song will be Getter Noir's?
So what's the deal with the X gruntsDoes the new villain come from the X universe
>>23630986No, if you have Amari/Iori, they specifically note the golems don't use Od (the magic power from X's world). I haven't finished the DLC story yet though.
With Berseria getting "Remastered" if you can even call it that I'm actually wondering if V, X and T will end up getting remastered too at this point, since 2 already have PC ports ready (and T is the same engine), and all 3 are already translated so they could try a western release (there is no way MD could get a western release with that translation)
sucks Big O doesn't have the gatling gun laser>>23629805"henshin" isn't really a special word
>>23630887>But obviously they cut all that since they didn't want to deal with any of it and realize the only ones with popularity that really matter is the main trio. And that's why I expecting Freedom to not get much outside of the usual 4 and the battleships whenever it shows up. Especially since Y didn't add anything new to Destiny outside of one enemy unit.
>>23630884It was probably done a while ago and held for a certain release date
So, regarding DLC 1's original boss.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB0tAq3hOeIWho's he? A member of NOAHS? Or someone who could be setting up for a future villain faction?
>accel has no trialb-but the finish line...
>>23630872Braiger lack the the eye beam and the double punch attack, but for the rest it's fine. Big O, i wish it had a chain attack , but .... it's kinda okey for an S1 only (still lame).
>>23630999If Double has neither FanJoker or Extreme, then there wasn't a chance in hell for Accel Trail.
>>23631005but I need my big T!
>>23631005extreme is in tho
>>23630902>No Schwartz (again) is disappointing.
>>23631012Joker Extreme finisher is in. He meant an attack using the Cyclone Joker Xtreme form. That's not in
>>23631012Is it? The videos I've seen don't have Extreme, not even as an attack.
>>23631012Anon means Cyclone Joker Xtreme. The final form. Not the Cyclone Joker finisher
>>23631017Anon probaby got confused with the base form finisher (Joker Extreme)
>>23631016This it's a transformation, so I wasn't expecting it, but not even as a final attack is disappointing.
>>23631018>>23631020My own fault for naming it Extreme and not Xtreme
>>23630902I'm not sure why you'd think Schwartz had a chance of being playable.
The DLC feels a lot less substantial this timeBig O with no S2 weapons at all while not even using all its S1 weapons is basically naked
>>23631035I don't remember, what's missing? The gatling laser was from S2.
>>23631040That, Final Stage, and Plasma Gimmick.
>>23631041It also doesn't have the Moby Dick Anchor antiair when using melee or Sudden Impact anymore
>>23631049Well they did away with really stark animation differences depending on terrain for a while now, haven't they? Z1 was the first and most stark, and it's been fading away since then due to the work load involved.
>>23631041It's S1 only. So if the attacks are from S2 we can't get them. Fuck this new license bullshit. The anchor was from S1.
They should've combined Missile Party with Cannon Party like in Z2 or made it a MAP attack like in D
>>23630993Maybe not to you
>>23631081even in japanese context, it's really just a plain verb
brai sword beam doesn't do the spinning anymore which is kinda surprisingthought they'd at least make that a MAP
>>23631035They just had some baffling choices for the movelists. They aren't smaller than most DLC units in 30, but they just lack what you'd expect as the big finisher in W, Accel's and Big O's case.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUVo4g2RAJwA 1:1 copy of this would have been fine with me. Not ironic.
>>23631061>The anchor was from S1.It's even part of his signature finisher against Becks Robo.
>>23631093Speaking of S1, I wish they'd make the last bit of the Big Duo fight into an attack animation somehow.
>>23631093Yeah and they did that attacks perfect in Z3. They fucking have the animation so why the fuck that attack was missing? I can't understand them at all.
>>23631101I guess they counted it as an S2 attack for whatever reason.
>>23631092Seeing this (started playing SRW with Moon Dwellers) makes the DLC look like a joke...
>>23631113>started playing SRW with Moon DwellersThat's your first mistake, as OG has a budget in exchange for no license, making them look better but less popular.
So, do the DLC characters have any dialogue in any of the base stages.
>>23631101They had to redo all the assets. They basically said because of the engine switch, they couldn't port everything over as it was on the old engine.
>>23631119OG also has talented animators and notwhatever this ishttps://youtube.com/watch?v=3T_30Y2HEbwhttps://youtube.com/watch?v=NiuZeMvqB8ohttps://youtube.com/watch?v=YiaFUUiH46M
>>23631124meanwhile, the humble Destiny Gundam:
>>23631131What does DD have?
>>23631133it has the guy that does the U and CE gundams and the guy who does the OGsand not much else
Good to have Roger back.I have missed the man.
I'd kill for a refresh of the translation of Moon Dwellers and PC Release.
>>23631092This makes me angry because with the fact that Big O didn't participate in VXT, and given the good level of these animations, I think it would have been perfectly acceptable to have this version with just one or two new attacks. I'm glad Roger's back, but damn...
So DLC sucks?God dammit.
>>23631148What'd you mean, the translation is great~!
>>23631155well oh god you have to see the missions and the story content. Braiger is fine, but Big O and W really could have benefited from a few more attacks and in Big O's case it's already preying from Z3 animation so the fact that there aren't certain attacks like the S1's Anchor Punch is ridiculous.
>>23631160Seems like the normal part of Y, good missions/story but the animations underwhelming?
The OG villain is the best part of the DLC
>>23631088Sudden Impact is Big O's most iconic finisher. Its just that we're used to Final Stage since Roger had it in Z/Saisei/Z3.
>>23631156what was SUCH WORDS supposed to be
>>23631180responding to calvina saying SHUT UP, I'M THE PILOT HEREtenia's basically saying she doesn't have to say it like that, she's helping her out too
>>23631124They didn't have to redo the sprites but apparently they had to port or redo all the actual movement data for the animations over to a new format somehow, and didn't have a method to automate it
>>23631144I liked when called out Yuna's false assed lie about Djibril not being in Orb.
>>23630209Actually, isn't the Big O OP theme also copyrighted or something. Hence why it was never used after D.
>>23631222The director wanted it to be an homage to queen and kept telling the composer to make it more like X or Y song and they flew too close to the sun on itThe full version is way more blatant than the snippet they used for the OPAnd then the second OP is just the UFO intro with the melody changed a bit but no one who could actually get them in trouble noticed
>>23631222Bro, it's literally a Japanese Queen song.https://youtu.be/YNJO6gmMRrY?si=ZU8oEMiiNMmW3ZqF
>>23631239FLASH! AAAAAaaaaaaaa
>>23630983As far as fully original tracks go, Braiger's Rockin' Whirlwind is spot on in hitting the right tone. But if it's an original track anyway - why oh why didn't it come with a vocal track if you also own the premium sound DLC?
Why does MNeidengard call the Shadow Angels of Aquarion "Fallen Angels"? That's a translation choice that the Z1 LP decided to go with for whatever reason.
>>23631274Why did MNeidengard do anything? Man deliberately chose the wrong terminology or even names for years because he could. I appreciate the fact that he carried the torch for so long, but if it wasn't something from a classic super robot show, he just legitimately did not care to do the research.
>>23631239The original intro footage with the panning silhouettes was better.By a thousand times. The change to the collection of clip shots is a perversion.
>>23631131Man, Arios has been hit or miss for while, but these new 3d assets are just a straight up downgrade to his style. Even his Wing Zero lacks a lot of the finishing touches because the models limit his more dynamic poses.
>>23631274It's actually more correct of a translation than Shadow Angels. They're originally called the 堕天翅族 - Datenshizoku. Which quite literally translates as "degenerate celestial wings" i.e. Fallen Angels. "Fallen" in the case of fallen angels in the biblical sense doesn't mean a literal fall from heaven. It means they fell from grace - i.e. turned against morality; becoming depraved and self-serving. Shadow Angels is pretty much a Woolsey-ism aimed at reducing linkage with Christian imagery and terminology.Similar to how God Gundam and Devil Gundam were turned into Burning Gundam and Dark Gundam.
>>23631290Its really frustrating, I get they're switching to new shit and learning but man its been hard to watch.
>>23631222>>23631234They literally got Brian May to help compose the song, who now holds the rights to it.
>>23631292>Woolsey-ismTROPER! TROPER! YOU'RE A FUCKING TROPER!!! LYNCH THIS FUCKING DEVIANT!!!!!!

Would You play?
>>23631380
>>23631380No
>>23631380>>23631382There should be a SRW Aniki Edition with only series with theme songs by Aniki, and Impact should be there of course
>>23631393Why you must remind me that Aniki is gone...
>>23631380What's the religious Gundam?
>>23631400It's exorcist gundam.
>>23631380Shame they'll probably never use that version of Tetsujin in a real game
>>23631292Hmm. Interesting to learn that stuff, thanks very much for it, Anon. I guess it depends on whether or not there was a Heaven they were kicked out of that'll make me decide which is the better term. The idea that these are superbeings who got decadent and greedy sounds like they're Atlantis, and helps explain stuff like the Greek names, "Atlandia", the titular mech being called "AQUArion", and calls back to the common MO of Super Robot bad guys like the Myceneans and Hyakki being a hostile grab for dominance over all humanity. Now I'm wondering if there's a functional way to combine "Decadent" and "Angel" without sounding dumb.

>>23631329Me too. I really want to believe we'll get him in the base roster of the next game. If they go for a partially virtual setting to accommodate Gridman Universe and maybe Getter Devo then I think they could make Paradigm City part of that. Kind of just wish they'd go full Super Toonami Wars though>Gundam 79 plus relevant OVAs>Gundam Wing plus Endless Waltz>G Gundam>Big O>Zoids: New Century (please god actually do it right this time)>Zoids Chaotic Century>Cowboy Bebop>Outlaw Star>Gundam SNEED (or just do SNEED Freedom, still getting the name recognition from the original)>Eureka Seven>some version of Transformers>Gurren Lagann>IBO>Casshern Sins>Ghost in the Shell>Megas XLR>SDF Macross, Southern Cross, and MOSPEADA (since apparently Harmony Gold is being less gay these days and Toonami had Robotech)>Golion because it had Voltron>anything else I missed
I pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam, I have the early access to the DLC, but Steam won't download the update from today. How can I force it to update? Steam has never done this to me before
>>23631473maybe the update has been already installed
>>23631466E7, IBO, GITS and Casshern Sins are New Toonami. If you're trying to stan for Old Toonami, SD Gundam Force and IGPX should be there instead. Also isn't Robotech unwatchable in modern day
>>23631473Completely close steam and open it again
>>23631483Keeping it to just one era makes the list too small desu>Also isn't Robotech unwatchable in modern dayI don't know
>>23631482No, the properties say it was updated yesterday when the pre-patch hit.>>23631487Didn't work so I'm now in the process of downloading it after deleting it. Gabe failed me tonight
>>23631491A dozen shows should really be enough. I don't know why people want every SRW to be 30 shows minimum even before DLC.
>>23631494Because retards here consume too much marvel crossover crap.
>>23631493Never mind, I'm retarded. I completely missed the DLC mission in the menu.
>>23631494A dozen shows used to be enough but now everyone seems to have forgotten the lessons from the Z saga.
I think what's hurting us is the fact that in a 24-series roster, half of it's going to be mainstays we've seen a dozen times over at this point and have less wiggle room for something new, so it feels like half the roster barely counts. I think more people would be willing to have a 12-15 series roster if it was almost entirely stuff that was new or rarely in the series so far.
>>23631466Would any of the Tenchi Muyo shows fit? Also, Evangelion, Nadesico, Gigantor, and Dai-Guard all aired during Toonami's Giant Robot Week. Though, I think it was only two episodes each. Don't know if these should count or not.
>>23631520UX was one of the exceptions, not the rule and that still had the fairly common Seed/Macross/Dancouga/00 quartet in that era too.
>>23631520In other words, you think a Nintendo Handheld-DS era roster would work better, since that's exactly how they were structured: mostly newer series with a couple of old entries
>>23631529Both 3DS games had lots of "weird" stuff that I doubt we'll ever see again.
>>23631520Especially when it was Gundam. Zeta and CCA aren't going anywhere, even if GQ shows up. And G, Wing, and SEED are the most popular AUs, so they'll appear whenever they can.>>23631533Yeah, in K for example, Mazinger Z and Dangaioh were the only series in that game that weren't from the 2000's. Also, it had Stargazer for its only appearance aside from Gakuen.
The handheld games were pretty explicitly less focused on attracting the usual boomer players who clap when they see UC Gundam and Getter, which is why they dropped those sometimes and went for newer or weirdo shit.
>>23631538Even BX had only one UC series, and it was Unicorn.
>>23631542BX's roster was also relentlessly shat on back in the day for being "boring".
I feel like the 3D games also tried to be experimental with their rosters or at least NEO did. That game's roster was all Super Robots with G Gundam as the sole Gundam rep and stuff like Iron Leaguer and New Getter Robo.
>>23631148Just MTL the original? Luna supports setting OCR regions
>>23631544How the fuck is BX's roster boring? Just got done with the game and even series veterans like GGG and Nadesico felt fresh, not to mention stuff like Gorg, Galient and the SD Gundam dudes, none of whom are ever coming back.
>>23631529Even then, that quartet hadn't quite run itself into the ground as harshly as the standard UCs, Endless Waltz and Z2 Heats had.>>23631533Yeah, exactly, they stand out for a reason. NEO at the time was also kinda like that, and even GC had a decent number of outliers we'd not seen or haven't seen since. I wish they'd managed a 3rd 3DS game.>>23631537Much as I'm fairly easy to please, even I had to roll my eyes a little when Y's first trailer was all the typical Gundams that get overly-used plus G.
>>23631548At the time a large portion of the thread was relentlessly sucking UX's dick and still had the bitter taste of Z3 in their mouths
>>23631551>>23631537The Gundam vs non-Gundam reps of Y's base roster
Not really impressed with the DLC. About halfway through it. The story is fine enough. But, man. The lack of attacks for the DLC units is such a fucking letdown. I get not including FangJoker since that'd have to count as a different unit, but no CycloneJoker Xtreme is lame. Hell, W doesn't even use their other forms' finishers. Just Joker Xtreme. Same goes for Accel not having his other two Memories. Big O not having any season 2 attacks just makes it kinda boring. Braiger's moves could use a little more flourish. This really is just not worth the money.
>>23631551I think GC was the first game to not use any of the Toei Dynamic series both Mazinger and Getter were the Kaiser OVA and Shin vs. Neo. Also, I'll admit when they were all the Gundam series I thought 00 was gonna show up after Destiny for a second.
>>23631555People will call me insane for saying this but Alpha Gaiden Braiger looked better.
>>23631551>even then the quartet hadnt run themselves into the groundAnon, they were in pretty much EVERY game back then. People were fucking sick, especially since Z2/Z3 were split games.
>>23631548UX was the perfect do no wrong game back then and no one bothered to translated BX's plot until recently.
>>23631559Maybe I'm just blinded by how much everyone's sick of Z and CCA in particular compared to then.
Are you looking forward to DLC 2 after Y's DLC 1?
>So Kid, you handsome devil, what's your next move?>Not bad!>Yay!This dialogue doesn't make sense and they repeat almost every time Braiger attacks
>>23631563Looks like Getter Beam mighthg be Noir final
>>23631564The J9 squad is made up of madmen.
>>23631554I wasn't talking about the amount of Gundam shows so much as it's the usual ones we always see. That's what upsets people. ZZ used to appear a lot but not anymore.
>>23631562CCA's plot was almost never used back then. So it coming back in Z3 was a really big deal and hype.Zeta is another series that essentially only existed in Z between ~06 and ~15ish, so no one cared about it either. The big problem people have with them is the refusal to do anything new. That's why Scirocco existing in Y was liked.
>>23631568I wouldn't even mind an all old stories game if they actually fucking did anything new with them.
>>23631510Most people haven't played Z since its not translated
That little cut-in for Shotaro transforming that he does when he first joins and then never again makes me think they originally wanted to include Fang as a form change (with a similar cut-in for Philip) but it was cut. Maybe something happened behind the scenes, like they got permission to use Skull at the last second and prioritized that instead?
>>23631563It'll be a decent enough addition. Honestly I'm a little curious what the theme will be for the overall plot they do there, and having something with Noir in in English will be interesting, so it might go over slightly better by comparison. Though I'm sure people will be quick to turn on it like with DLC1.It is what it is, and it's more content at the end of the day.
>>23631563Yeah. I wanna use Getter and Jeeg
>>23631563EhMaybe I'll get it if I ever feel like replaying
>>23631564"Yay!" is literally the catchphrase for the J9 series. Bowie is always referring to Kid using "otaku" as a pronoun (which meant something different when the show was written) so it's said as a term of endearment.
>>23631568Char getting basically everything he wanted and that giving him an even bigger midlife crisis was also a fun twist on CCA.
30's DLC was much, much better desu
>>23631588He likes playing contrarian.
I'm halfway through the DLC and I think over half of the base game roster have not opened their mouths even once, seems like just the Dynazenon, Majestic prince, G Gundam and occasionally Wing and Getter characters do.
Now I want what people's reactions to J was for having no Getter and no Universal Century.
>>23631580The "Yay" catchphrase is basically brought up by the cast to simply not talk too much with no questions asked, as if they know what's going on with each sentence. Rewatch the series a few times, and you'll understand.
My husband.
>>23631591And those are all characters that join early, before the first Delta stage in Chapter 2 I think, so there is basically no optional/early character with extra dialogue if you delay the dlc stages until the end/postgameNo one even referenced the Willforce so far, or Ra Val, or any other faction

>>23631596You stopped being a homewrecker to Guy huh?
>>23631591>>23631597Since we're constantly comparing, does anybody recall if there was that big a difference in dialogue with 30's DLC comparing the stages done in post-game vs. doing them over time from the beginning?I know if you did the Ultraman stage after recruiting the kaiju-making girl from Gridman she reacts to that, and conversely if you get Voltes V early and field it you get that scene of confusion for the El Dora guys, but those are about the only big differences I can recall. Though I'm not surprised if Y's DLC, despite being in-universe, still doesn't intersect much with the main plot itself.

In the stage "Ye Guilty" a lot of the dialogue boxes are all fucked up and have half the text separated in weird ways.
>>23631622
>>23631625And there's so many typos too. >you're dead met!She means meat. This is the gift that keeps on giving.
>>23631600Most of the characters that talk in 30's DLC were that main group who were around from the start, but you did get a couple of lines from others. Like Amuro and Kamille have one line each in the Barbatos recruitment stage if you have them. And then some maps only were unlocked much later so you had a lot of characters talking. This was even more common in the Expansion DLC.Miorine and Lelouch are mentioned in the Roger recruitment stage of Y in the discussion at the start about how they need some specialized in negotiations, and it'd be too much to push that on them too. Although they don't get lines themselves during the chapter.Y's DLC does add a bunch of extra talk events separate from the chapters, like a Dorothy/Jet Jaguar scene.
>>23631600The 30 DLC stages didn't have many differences since they were only available after you cleared certain main stages so the correct characters were available if needed (like how you can't get Chirico before getting Van and Kallen, and you can't get Excellen before getting Lelouch). There were some small dialogue differences depending on when you played them, like the questor mechs were always referred as unknowns before chapter 4, then as questors later, and they comment on them being questor survivors if you finished the game but this hasn't happened so far in Y since the Gold Golems are considered a separate faction from NOAHs or the Willforce. Everything else was just a one line reaction like Uso or Amuro commenting on Barbatos being a Gundam, but the opposite also happens if you get Mikazuki firstI don't know how much dialogue the Y dlc cast get during the main game since I'm not replaying Y until the last dlc is out so I can't comment on that, but it's not like the 30 dlc series had that much anyway, they only appeared at some point, said 1 or 2 lines, then nothing changed. The only real exceptions are the Eldora scene with Voltes, and Akane trying to hit on Ultraman if you have him while doing the stage where you recruit Anosillus since those are extra scenes and not additional lines to pre existing ones

>>23631663I definitely got a little more use out of her active effect than I did Dorothy's, though Dorothy absolutely has the better passive of the two DLC assists because she gives squadwide +1 move at rank 3
Then the real question is are we going to get another live stream anytime soon before the end of this month to have a somewhat of a road map of figuring out what is going to be the plan for releasing DLC 2 because it feels like it's already done the only thing left is to add illustration cutscenes, original final Bosses Mechs given of the spoiler from the previous thread and lastly dialogue as well. And the most important question is what is going to be the prediction for DLC3/ expansion pack since now we know it's taking place only in the Y dimension because now we can see Big O and other mechs series can coexist some I would say.
Noir really should have been basegame.
>>23631661>>23631663Nvm, nice, she also got a useful assist skill.

>>23631664>Dorothy [..] gives squadwide +1 move at rank 3Damn. That's quite a nice passive bonus. Does it stack all the way with other movement increases?
I think there's another bit of dialogue in Y that changes if doing the DLC late/post-game? Isaac talks with the Arc Getter after joining and he references knowing Jin. In that conversation they talk like Jin is dead, so that's probably tweaked at least if you do it early game.
>>23631685> First SRW> SRW OGs> SRW A Portable> SRW Complete Box> Masoukishin OG SagaQuite often.
>>23631685Remasters like that Berseria or Xillia one? I think it never happened so far, but this type of remasters wasn't very common either until the past generationRemakes with updated visuals on other platforms? Complete Box, F/F Final (should it count?), Alpha Dreamcast, AP, OGs, the first Masoukishin on DS/PSP, the first SRW on PS3. I think that's all of them
>>23631690Also, 2G and Impact.
I hope Namco Bandai does a survey about the DLC's reception because I really wanna shit on them for this.
>>236316914 also had another before F called 4S for the PS1. I believe it was also the first SRW game to have voice acting.
>>23631669A lot of time has passed since the last stream, and yet it doesn't seem there is one coming soon since the next DD event has a date already so it's hard to say what the timing could be for the next DLC, and I for one never though the DLC date would have been at that State of Play Japan so who knows if Bamco has decided to put future announcements in other similar streams instead of their own. maybe even to get more western eyes on them (TGA? Directs?)As far as future dlcs for Y, it's hard to say. Pic related confirms 3483850 was DLC1, so it would make sense for 3483860 to be DLC2, but that leaves 3483880 and a as of yet "unused/empty" 4126740. This last one has the highest chance of becoming an expansion, but there is also the other one that is yet unaccounted and was "created" very close to the DLC1 and 2 going by its id so who knows
>>23631705Could be some random free DLC
>>23631685>>23631690>>23631691Please differentiate 'Remaster' from 'Remake' since:> First SRW> SRW OGs> SRW A Portable> SRW Complete Box> Masoukishin OG Saga (just the first one)> ImpactThose are complete recreations of older games, often multiple games in one package, so remakes. A remaster is just a port with some nice features added and support for modern systems, which SRW so far has not dabbled into. And this> 2GIs... a gaiden-ish alt version, I guess? Since it is a Game Boy game based on a NES game with some alterations that ultimately became non-canon to the classic series.
>>23631602>>23631660>>23631663Oh my god... One anon was told Akiko was not in, then Tokime. BOTH ARE IN, NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP!
No one seems to have unique battle quotes for the recycled X golems. They didn't even keep the old lines from the X protagonists. Makes me think they wanted to make original grunts, but then realized they didn't have enough resources for that.
>>23631765The glossary entry for the golems are copypasted straight from X.The final DLC boss only has pre battle dialogues for the DLC units and in-battle dialogues only for the Kamen Riders.
>>23631742>MasoukishinDS was a remake.PSP was largely a upscaled port with added VO. I'd consider that a remaster.
ouch
>>23631772I'm pretty sure only the Kamen Riders have lines against the Road Dopants tooAnd so far it seems you can only fight them when the Riders are alone before the main group appears during the Double and the Accel debut stage, which adds to the issueI'm honestly wondering if the Riders have lines against any Y base game enemy at this point
As much as I want to see WfM S2, Zettai Live and Gridman Universe in Y, it ain't happen unless the hypothetical expansion pack is an actual expansion pack and not just two DLCs packs put together
>>23631791If you count bosses we know the Riders have lines against Godzilla, at least.
So, Tokime is an early source of SP restore, which gives her some early utility, but not enough for a full Unity spam. The extra morale is also not bad but the +15 ACC is basically uselessShe can still see some use
So are Golems and Road Dopants the only new grunts and Beck, Schwarzwald and the new OG final boss the only new bosses?
>>23631795Dorothy is a top tier support just for the 1+ move, the cheap wall is just icing on the cake
>>23631791>I'm honestly wondering if the Riders have lines against any Y base game enemy at this pointThey do have quotes against quite a few main game enemy types. Although I don't know about boss specific quotes outside of the Godzilla one people have posted.>>23631798At the very least, a few stages in they also bring back those green mage robots from X, not just the gold golems. I haven't finished the DLC story yet though.
As for Dorothy, well Wall and Focus for 2 bars is not bad, but I think most units that could benefit from it can manage with their spirit sets. The +1 move passive however is huge, one of the best passives and if you combine it with the +1 move Full Bonus or a + move part your units could easily zoom to the other side of a map in a single moveWithout a doubt a top tier supporter just as >>23631799 wrote. I'll probably keep her on all the time
>>23631803Honestly Dorothy's passive combined with dash is making 1+ move less attractive for a FUB.
I'm in the middle of Ch.6 right before the first Ark stage and I'm wondering how they'll let me get through the DLC. I'm thinking you probably need to be on ch.7 for the finale
>>23631690>>23631691>>23631742Only the OGs can be remastered. Anything else would bankrupt Bamco. Probably why they never get re-released on NSO, PSN, and the like
>>23631809Maybe I remember wrong, but I think some SRW games did have PSN emulated releases. You could buy Z1 on PS3 for example, obviously only in japan

>>23631823>>23631810So that just leaves Nintendo being stingy fucks or SRW was just plain more popular on the Playstation consoles. What was the expansion pack for 30 like? A proper extension of the base game's plot or DLCs taped together?

>>23631844>What was the expansion pack for 30 like? A proper extension of the base game's plot or DLCs taped together? It felt like a slightly bigger DLC3 for 30, simply because it had a few units/stages more compared to the other 2, but on the whole it was the same as the other 2 story wise: first group of stages where each of the dlc series gets transported into 30's world, 2nd group of stages where the various dlc units unlock their last attack or you recruit the rest of the series cast or get an upgrade (like the new 30 Scopedog), last group of stages unlocked in the post game where you fight a resurrected final boss (in the expansion case Dr Hell) and a group of Stamen Bidol, then the dlc cast decides to remain with the Dreikreuz because they don't want to leave things unfinished. The only different thing were the MJP movie stages because they felt like an actual continuation of the main game MJP plot, and the Devo Getter ones because they added an ending to the base game Getter plot with Cowen and Stinger being there (because in the base game Armageddon had no final boss at all, you just stopped fighting invaders at one point)I absolutely feel with Y DLC1 they were cheap with the limited amount of attacks and the recycled voicelines/enemies, but at least I'm confident DLC2 will have a different storyline instead of being a carbon copy with swapped series like in 30
>>23631844>What was the expansion pack for 30 like? A proper extension of the base game's plot or DLCs taped together?A mix of both. The paid stages focused on the new shows + giving extra attacks for the SRX and Huckebein were basically just new DLC pack stages. That said, they had high starting stage requirements compared to the previous ones, which meant they could feature more base characters getting lines, leading to more diverse storylines. But it still followed the same structure with free stage where the units warp into 30's world, then they're warped individually to separate stages and you go gather them, then you get one or two stages focused on each show, then two stages to secure a portal back home with a recycled resurrected boss from the main game. The Getter Devo stages had some nice moments in spite of being locked in this format. The exception to this were the two MJP movie stages which just continued the MJP plot from the main story.Separate from all this though, there was also the actual end-game story, which was actually given for free, not paid. It was a follow up from the main story's cliffhanger with tons of optional lines if you had the DLC characters. However, it was fairly repetitive still. Basically facing the same AI enemies you already had been facing for a while, and there were only two new OG characters for this end-game. The story was also structured in a way you just went from one battle to another, without any real downtime or break from it. And in spite of this being the final threat... they really didn't do much? Nothing compared to an Axis drop scenario or the return of GaoGaigar early in the game, just generic "strong enemies appearing" and your group in danger a couple of times until some event happens (like an OG character returns with an enemy-only super mecha, but it gets immediately destroyed and he goes back to his personal mecha you already had before) and then this repeats over and over until the final battle.
>>23631809>>23631810>>23631823Iiiic weren't they're interested in remastering some mainline but would have to avoid anything that has DYRL because of HG?
>>23631872There was a poll Bamco did earlier in the year which had questions about remastering older games, and it had both Gundam (in general) and SRW in it. I think the interest may be there, The problem for Bamco is finding the money for a translation (and of course, avoiding Harmony Gold)
>>23631772The DLC boss has quotes against Mazinkaiser (two) and Gundams.>>23631807I stopped just before the Ark finale three-parter and could do all the DLC stages. Just a heads-up, but when the final DLC stage appears, all other missions will disappear from the list until you complete it.
So what's the story behind the DLC's final boss, if anyone's gotten to him yet?
>>23631772>The final DLC boss only has pre battle dialogues for the DLC units and in-battle dialogues only for the Kamen Riders. It'll comment on Gundams and call Mazinkaiser "roaring Mazin".
>>23631877There was a survey just about SRW in Japan and then a Gundam games survey (they consider SRW a Gundam game, apparently) they posted everywhere with a lot of the same questions.
>>23631884All right, spoilers. There's a guy walking around selling Gold Golems, the same ones from SRW X, but using a different power source. There's a whole original plot where a girl (Leah Crye) hires Roger (Big O), J9 (Braiger) and Shotaro/Philip (Fuuto PI) to find this man. The only thing they know is that he has a silk hat and a clock/gears ornament, and goes by "Preacher of Evil". After a few stages of shenanigans, you discover piece by piece his name (Alfcourt Campal) and that he comes from another dimension. After more shenanigans, you discover the girl who hired you has killed the real Leah a long time ago, and Alfcourt kidnaps her, while revealing that he's an extra-dimensional being (the old man face is a façade, he looks like a purple flame) that feeds on negative emotions. He reveals he has to nurture negative emotions because humans will let go of them given enough time, and he did that by selling those Gold Golems to whoever went around causing chaos. In the final stage, Alfcourt deploys in his mech called Dulco Vesta, and uses a map-wide skill that halves morale and SP. You realize the girl is feeding his mech her negative emotions, so Kamen Rider W and Roger convince the girl (called Jonna) to let go of her evil emotions at least for a time, and it stops feeding the final boss' mech. You beat Alfcourt, he tries to open a portal to escape, Braiger stops him and defeats him. That cat, called Gulliver, shows up a few times but does nothing of note. It appears at the epilogue to showcase a loose plot thread. That's it.Yay!
>>23631838It appears a few times throughout, but does nothing special. It appears again at the epilogue.
>>23631897Huh, so what was fake-Leah's motivation in all this, then?
If the upcoming Keroro movie uses one of these human Keroro designs I wonder if it'd be easier to get Keroro in SRW...>>23631897>>23631899Sounds like the cat pretty much confirms an expansion pack then?
Anyway, what the other characters do is:- Beck appears from time to time to annoy you- Schwarz appears during the last 3 stages to annoy you but also reveal a lot about the plot- No Braiger villains show up- Pancho Poncho appears midway through but isn't an assist- Braiger gets Brai Cannon during a Walkure-centric stage- Everyone else doesn't get any attack upgrades (W/Skull get a combination attack)- There's quite a few of those onboard skits with Roger, the J9 characters and the Kamen Riders- The penultimate stage is called YE GUILTY, but Alan Gabriel doesn't appear
>>23631902This will sound convoluted, but what happens is that there was a Crye family that had many enemies. Alfcourt Campaul sold the father some golems, but he tried to use them to protect his family instead of causing chaos. Alfcourt killed both father and mother, and Leah survived. The girl you meet is a maid of the family called Jonna (Schwarzwald reveals this). What she did was kill Leah and then took her place as Leah Crye. Because of this, she had a twisted realization that she could only find happiness by taking the place of someone else. So she concocts her whole plan (pay people to find Alfcourt) and pays it from the Crye family's money reserves. In the penultimate stage, she tries to use the Gold Golems to blow Alfcourt up, but he escapes and kidnaps her instead. After Shotaro and Roger convince her, she gives herself up to the police.

>>23631997I wonder what's his pay for dealing with the bullshit that comes from SRW. He should get a bonus for time travel, dimension hoping, dealing with ancient gods, alien fleets.....
>>23631973How do you play these games long enough to get to lvl 99? I don't really have any desire to play more after the story. The gameplay is basically just hitting spirits that stop you from dying on everyone. Maybe I'm just playing wrong but it's basically just Intuition, Persist and Flash in fastforward until you win the mission.
>>23631995Ironically Yamazaki was a replacement actor for the late Kaneto Shiozawa. Same with Ryotaro Okiayu replacing Kazuyuki Sogabe as Isaac. They also carried over to the other J9 shows in GC since they originally shared the same voice cast.
>>23632002I did the resupply trick to get 2-3 units to 99 first, then the enemy will naturally start to field units with level equal to the average of your top 15-20 leveled units or so.I think you can even get to 99 naturally without the resupply trick if you do all the front missions as they becomes available.
Isn't this plot from a completely different Kamen Rider movie?
>>23631998Did you beat said preview stage? Also you need to be on chapter 2

>>23632248no that was UX
>>23632222In the base game stage themselves not really, but as you gather characters you unlock on-board scenes that are just about the interactions with the DLC cast and other characters. Like the Masaki/Ryusei scene in 30, but many more of those and generally it's DLC characters/main game characters. Also, they start getting lines in standard stages only later on, when you're finished with the main cast recruitment.

>>23632244It's not dead, but SRW Y seems to be really run on a ridiculous budget and very few people to manage it. SRW 30 sold well, so it's unclear why Bandai is acting this way. No one expected OG MD animation quality, but for Christ's sake, at least give the Big O a decent budget and include S2. It's not even necessary to use it story-wise, but at least you can include the Moby Dick Anchor and Gatling Laser, which they ALREADY HAD ready as animations. Same thing with Kamen Rider, what's the point of releasing an incomplete version without even all the attacks from the anime?I don't get it.

>>23632337No text only either?
Targetto...nova
>>23632337>>23632343I think people said they have the usual pre-battle boss conversations that all protagonists get late game. That said, Roger can use his generic "Facing huge enemy" quote for Godzilla in battle since his voice was recorded in the Z3 era. But the Braiger crew get nothing since their voice is older, from before they started doing those generic "enemy category" quotes (back then it was just outright generic quotes or character/robot specific ones)
>>23632230I had his theme already to add as well
>>23631958Roger is only 25 even though you'd expect him to be in his early 30s
>>23632337Aside from Sogabe all of those VAs are still around so that's strangeDid they intend Kamen Rider to get in the base game, split it into DLC and then hastily add Big O and Braiger on top without having the time to get the VA work together or something
>>23632017Check if you have the dlc songs in the music player. If not, check the Steam properties and look if DLC1 has a checkmark. If not check it and it should workIf you are on console I have no idea, maybe you have to download it from the PSN/eshop?
>>23632370Yeah that was funny in Z1 where he hangs out with all the older men characters while not actually being that older than the teens. But I’m more surprised about Kid being an ex soldier at 18, looks way too young to have both served and been discharged from an army.
>>23632378Sogabe was already replaced in Alpha Gaiden, there’s no availability issue here. I’m guessing it’s for the same reason why the OG characters and majority of the veterans didn’t get new voice lines. Whether it’s time or budget I’m not sure but it’s weird even Masaki and DLC characters returning after decades didn’t get new voice lines.
Pretty much the same complaints we have here: W missing a bunch of stuff, no S2 attacks for Big O and no Braiger BGM

>>23632421He also was a famous shooter in some special division of the army. It's not like he just spent a few months there and is a generic ex-military, who quickly dropped off and the ex-military thing is mostly about his training. His actual career as a soldier background is pretty relevant and is used to explain his skills with shooting and infiltration.
>>23632424I think budget is the most likely culprit. This past year Bamco felt cheaper than usual. Just look at the Tales "remasters" having less and less new content or differences from the original, or how half of this year releases being remasters or remakes in general (like the Sony games they published). You can truly feel the cuts caused by Blue Protocol and the other disappointments they had last year like Unknown 9 or the decreased popularity of their non-DB Jump arena fightersHell, they're adding a whopping 1 extra character to FighterZ for no reason at all next year. This should tell you how desperate they are to get something out of the door as soon as possible
>>23632370Roger acts older because the writers wanted adult viewers to have someone to relate and younger viewers a hero figure to idolize.

>>23632459A man should be able to sleep in if he wants.
So far out of all the DLC series in SRW I think IBO in 30 got the most love despite having zero plot>four playable units>have almost all the attacks you'd expect (only big omission was Flauros' Dainsleif)>Orga gets voiced lines despite only being a supporter>Hashmal (and Plumas) boss fight>You even fight Grazes in one stage (and they never show up again)Granted is IS Gundam and the most recent AU series when the game was released
>>23632370>check the ages in the guide book>dorothy is supposedly 18>angel is 26>roger is 25>schwarzwalds age is just straight up isn't statedHuh never realized that before.
>>23632459He's a 25 year old bachelor, he's amazingly well-put together for one.
>>23632469Dorothy definitely won the lotto with him.
>>23632467I think all the DLC series from 30 got at least everything the featured robots should have, rightUnless the Shinkalion bots had some major omissions that I'm unaware of since I didn't watch that
>>23632474If the Shinkalion movie was fully adapted we would get Miku, Shinji and Godzilla
Honestly starting to think the only way they could do DLC and not have it go over poorly is if it’s less packs and more DLC individual series. Like, buy Big O DLC and it gets more content and more fully integrated into the plot: Season 2 content, adjusted main plot scenes, Beck joins up with NOAH, some of the ancient civilization baddies talk about Megadeuses, etc. It’s not ideal and has its own problems, but it might go over better. Though then they’d only pick popular series they know would sell if offered individually.
71 years old this year.
>>23632482I just don't think there's any practical and not shit way to execute inserting series after release, even if its probably more profitable for them then just the usual cheapo mission packs
>>23632493They should've just done either a straight up Y2 or like an Alpha Gaiden-sized DLC pack
>>23632493Only good way would be do a full expansion with 20-30 new stages taking place after the main story
On the topic of expansion, how possible would one added would add new attacks for DLC 1 and 2 if they happened to add more plot for them?
>>23632287A game selling well doesnt necessarily mean that all of the money is going straight into the development of the sequels. Bamco clearly has series/projects that they prioritize above all else. Combine that with time constraints and this is what you get.
>>23632495Having the new series be postgame only would turn a lot of people off, the reason they've started doing the mission select thing again was so people can pick up the shows they like sooner
Here's the Evil Lord event.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKJuED_NrcU
>>23632096>>23632176Can you blame her?
>>23632482I think Y's take is good enough conceptually, they just were really dumb with character movesets and there is the issue of lack of new VA for returning characters that also hurt the base game.If they had the same number of attacks, but had gone with better choices I don't think you'd see nearly as many complaints.
>>23632553Yeah, one of the positives people have about Y's DLC characters is the fact that they, except from the OGs, are natives to the game's world rather than coming from another dimension like 30's did.
What would you want in an Expansion that isn't a sequel to something already in the base game?
+1 range, -20% EN cost or +20% crit?
>>23632553So, the main problem with the dlc is also the main problem with the base game: low amount of new voice acting, low amount of fully new units, high amount of recycled contentAnd just like the main game, it improves over 30's DLC the same way: better implementation of the series, more interesting dialogues, better crossovers, stages that aren't an endless repetitive slogI think the anons talking about a lack of budget may not be too far off since those are problems that could be solved with more money (like voice acting), especially if they're present in both the main game and the dlc. On the other hand it seems the writing team had a clear plan on what they wanted to do with Y. Well outside of G-Witch
>>23632566I don't think I want anything to appear in SRW as DLC, it's somehow even more demeaning than being a DD eventThat being said I'm expecting plotless Hathaway's Flash movie 1
I just realized if Roger has EX Morale Break (which is super expensive) he can remove 20 morale per attack
>>23632579They very clearly had a plan with WfM, and for the most part I would say they adapted the majority they could. The unsureness over if they could get S2 is what they held back on, hence the no Earth Witches or El5n. Even if something like G-Reco technically got everything it could have wanted in X, I might even argue that WfM's debut in Y was better paced and handled, if for no other reason than the more unbalanced way X handled its big debut series.
>>23632577In Y? Range. You are never hurting for energy or damage in this game.
>>23632600WfM was handled great until you get rebuild and then it just stops. I understand why but it still feels like you are getting blue balled
Traditional rote splits would work great for WfM S2 since you could have the main WfM cast go on one route while the other group runs into 'Bob' during his character development arc

>>23632611Wataru needed more fantasy things to cross with besides just Dunbine.
>>23632612No Escaflowne in X made me sad
>>23632566Just throwing random ideas not all of them at onceEvangelion - they don't want to deal with Rebuild 3 and 4's story anyway...Gurren Lagann (maybe that new toy-only combo of the team's robots)Red Ranger isekaiGundam X - maybe bring one of those obscure double X variations from that one old card game, like fight and desert type. Or other obscure non-animated stuff like the Strike Airmaster (Prototype twin satellite cannon unit that was meant to fire with internal charge and move at high speeds, but they could 't make a generator good enough. Just gives us a version that works).Grendizer (they could do like a super condensed version of its plot reusing other alien robots alongside something actually from Grendizer)Ideon - you could really replace the Buff clan with almost any other alien enemy, but Y already had so many Tomino shows...Keroro, maybe? Getting a movie next year and has a new model. You could adapt the basic premise without needing any units. If they want to make mecha jokes, just say planet Keron itself is in another universe, but they're invading this Earth because it's the special one that matters. With the A.Advent, they could recreate the entire basic set up with him making a secret base under a house in the A.Advent, and he'd just move alongside it.

>>23632198>How did they explain the isekai'd DLC bots getting disabled as well, I forgot.Iirc the K&M and Rayearth units weren't being disabled, which was an actual plot point. They were just being grossly outnumbered with everyone else going down, and with everyone turning into a liability that could suddenly need defending by those still capable at the drop of a hat - the entire force was still equally fucked.

>>23632999Let's hear it, assuming you're not just bullshitting
>>23632999would be interested in your thoughts. Closest I got was Code Geass because the Soldats/Knightmare Frames would be about the same tech level and somehow tie the origins of the Geass to the Curse of Erbornia bullshit
>>23632647To be fair it’s not like it was all that prominent in the first place. It only appeared in 3 Alpha games and then a spin-off or two. This was long before VTX so either Frontier and 7 to a lesser extent were just that popular or Macross in general has messy rights even in Japan.
>>23633003>>23633010>>23633032Okay, most of the Soldats and Diving Knights are actually on the smaller side, but where standard Soldats are basically just Fantasy Knightmare Frames, the Divine Knights are more full Super Robots. They're also fairly tanky. So for Valimar in particular would be S-sized but with quite high defense, not full Mazinger grade tankiness but still able to take hits better than most things in its sizeclass when they actually do land. He'd also have fairly average EN but a good base EN regen. Biggest drawback would be the lack of ranged attacks in the base kit, but that's where the gimmick comes in. Basically like J's OG units, you'd be able to freely swap the subpilot (with more unlocked as each game progresses) between missions, getting one ranged attack in the form of an Art (the only attack Valimar would have beyond 4 base range) and one unlocked final attack (could be EN based like the others, but one way to better match the games would be having the final attack as an Ammo-based high-Will move) depending on who the subpilot is. General kit would also apply to Ordine (Combo Attack with Valimar) and shades of it in the second of the duology's games with the New Class VII's Soldats (think KNFs with swappable subpilots). As for series it'd get paired up with, there's the obvious with Code Geass, of course, but also some other fantasy series (my list has LDM Gaiking, Rayearth, Escaflowne, SD Gundam Gaiden, Nanoha A's, among others for the first game, with the second game swapping out Rayearth for OVA Rayearth, Nanoha StrikerS, Granblem, and a few others). Rean, Suzaku, and Van would make for a fun dynamic, especially if they have some people Daiya, Nanoha, and Knight Gundam around them frequently. One particular idea that's bounced around my head is StrikerS Nanoha and CS3/4 Rean swapping Instructor duties for a mission, with Helicopter Parent Rean trying his best with RF6 while New Class VII learns to respect and fear the White Devil.
>>23633071I thought Frontier was very popular when it came out and that's why it stuck around for so long.
>>23633086It did but Frontier first showed up in like 2010 with L and Z2, 7 first appeared in D but otherwise Macross was contained solely to Alpha and even then Alpha 2 didn’t even have a single Macross title.

>>23633455not really, they've been doing this sunrise oldfag collection promotion for a while
>>23633477This talks about the cockpit design. As newer model kits avoid including the inner workings (think of the High Grades and the old kit reissues no longer having the rich design work from the mechanical designer), the Robot Laboratory page is immortalizing them.
I thought Kid is the leader of J9
>>23633502No, Isaac is head tardwrangler, everyone else has a specific job they're good at.
>>23633502He's not even the main pilot of the robot, he only fires the weapons and uses attacks. Bowie pilots the robot. That's why the other three defer to Kid when they need a specific attack.I didn't watch Baxinger, but it's the same in Sasuraiger: Blues is the leader, Rock controls the attacks of the robot and Beat is the main pilot.
>>23633508>>23633514what does omachi do
Does J9 have new lines or are they just archived voices?
>>23633517I'm not really sure what Omachi/Birdy do in Braiger/Sasuraiger, probably communications or analysis.>>23633521Same voices from Alpha Gaiden/GC.
>>23633517General femme fatale spy stuff and explosives
Big O missing its S2 weapons and Final Stage makes sense because its involvement in the plot is just Roger leaving Paradigm City for a job and that's itBut then again that's a really fucking lame way to involve a series in an SRW game
Cross and Forte better show up as guest characters in a game with Tobikage, GGG and J-Decker
>>23633619It would make sense if it wasn't paid DLC
>>23633619Wish it still got an extra unlockable attack, maybe a stronger Sudden Impact where it actually uses the anchors
>>23633704Maybe they could've turned the finisher on Big Duo where Big O lifted itself up with the anchors and then dropped on top into an attack, wouldn't be the weirdest one-off scene that got turned into one
https://youtu.be/nUVo4g2RAJw?t=86Was the attack where it shoots a shitload of anchors at once S2 only?
>>23633714Ep14 so yeahWho knows whats up with the licensing that they couldn't just do it anyways though. Only O-Thunder, Plasma Gimmick, and Final Stage are entirely S2 only.
>>23633718They could have just used the anchors anyway, yeah. Wouldn't be the first time they were used in SRW without season 2, as they were in Big O's attack list in D.
>>23633769The anchors were in S1 just not the anchors in every direction thing
>>23633769The specific attack where it fires all the anchors at once is S2. They could have used the regular anchors with no issueI think the lack of anchors not appearing in any of the animations bothers me more than the lack of S2 attacks. Roger uses them consistently throughout both S1 and S2 and I consider them as part of it's core move set
>>23633533>>23633559Besides planting explosives inside enemy bases, Omachi has literally sat on top of the Brai-Thunder to toss bombs on people bellow. Birdie's thing was more acrobatics, pickpocketing, randomly mentioning she had military training, and having two famous parents.
>>23633619Isn't Braiger the same? Also, the only DLC series to not have enemies from its series. I'm sure some are disappointed that Khamen Khamen isn't in Y.
>>23633793If they couldn't get Braiger's theme that probably would mean no music for Khamen Khamen either
The worst part about there being no buyable MP Bonta-kuns in W is that they went out of their way to make MP Bonta-kun an actual unit.
>>23633793I haven't played Alpha Gaiden or GC but aren't the only Braiger enemies in those games the bees and Khamen Khamen's spaceship?
>>23633718>Who knows whats up with the licensing that they couldn't just do it anyways though.Big O is eternally stuck in licensing hell because of its nature as a coop project between Sunrise and Adult Swim, Sunrise's rights having transferred into Bandai Entertainment which eventually was dissolved, while Adult Swim and Cartoon Network might've actually blown it as a tax write-off as they've done with other properties as well. There's still the publication and international distribution rights, separate from the full creative rights. Those were scooped up by Sentai Filmworks, often seen as the spiritual successor to ADV, where the series was deemed safe and secured for the future. That didn't pan out though - their disc releases had to be cut and altered over lingering music rights, and the show itself has had an on and off relationship with streaming services time and again as well. Sometimes having just S1, just S2, or even having only certain discontinuous ranges of episodes available. It's a bloody damned mess.Proper cursed.Harmony Gold and Macross is a fairy tale compared to this shitshow.
>>23633877It can't be that bad they just did a bunch of anniversary shit for the show in Japan. International problems seem more likely but I don't think it's a fucking mess within Japan itself like the original Macross is.
>>23633877Are there other music issues besides the OP. I got an old Bandai boxed DVD set of S1+2 and the OP was replaced with a different song. Interesting enough for S2 they used the altered S1 OP for almost all the episodes except one (can't remember which) that had the S2 OP with Respect (aka the Gerry Anderson UFO theme)
Happy 50th birthday, Junko Minagawa.
I'll miss Shirogane, he was the only one with a brain on the GoLion team.
Seems they fixed that translation error where they call the kaiju group Kaiju Club and Kaiju Eugenicists back-to-back, it's Kaiju Club both ways now.
>>23633877Cartoon network only had the broadcasting rights which expired years ago, as for who actually owns the IP I believe it's still sunrise and bandai.
>>23633938The 1st OP is the only real major issue it seems, according to japanese twitter brian may somehow caught wind of the OP and had to settle it in court with bandai. An agreement was reached and bandai was allowed to continue using the OP as long as queen was credited or whatever which led to them just never using it again to respect their agreement.
>>23634023cool. so they're still brushing up stuff.Did they also fix the dollar-sign protag-name placeholder screw-up a few scenarios later?
anyone elses stg rank shot up to max after the new update? Went from c in ch2 to rank s after a mission...
>>23634076That's downright benign compared to some of the glitches from 30's DLC updates
>>23634078You know now that you mentioned it i dont rembember that many bugs, outside of red 5 missing in action after some random update
Anyone have better tracks for the DLC characters? I refuse to use Big O without Big O! blasting at full volume
>>23634079Yeah but that bug completely fucked you if you were unlucky, and didn't get fixed for a WHILE (relatively)
>>23634076Strange I was able to get to S by the end ch.2 prepatch by abusing upgrade inheritance
>>23633508>>23633514>>23633788And then you get to Baxingar and they're basically the Shinsengumi but as a biker gang. Typical Sentai-style gimmicks because each member has an individual machine they drive before it combines into Baxingar. They make up for it with Baxinbird, which serves as a base for J9-II.

I don't get why the DLC units feels so incomplete outside of Braiger.
>>23634380Cause they areBig O's missing shit that had sprites to reuse and W could've had a bunch of forms and not just one attack per form.
>>23634385I already expected W to not have form changes, but at least he should have had all the forms as attacks - like the anime already showed Fang Joker and Extreme.
>>23634386Its pretty obvious Y has a shoestring budget.
I fear the consensus on Mist and SRWK might end up shifting by the time the K LP gets further in.

>>23634400Yeah, about the only change is that people are going to know that it's even worse than expected from the memes.
>>23634480Its not about what I expect, it's what a 'complete' unit would be
>>23634536Complete units don't have forms in HD Super Robot Wars
>>23634539It's not an argument retard
>>23634542You're the one retarded enough to think a character "could've had a bunch of forms" in a modern SRW, not me. If you set your expectations for that any higher than 0 forms you're probably too stupid to vote
>>23634542Not that anon but... you really were an idiot to expect multiple forms for a DLC unit, because we already know from DLC 2 how they'd be treated. Separate forms would count towards the overall unit count for the DLC. Which is also the likely reason why we don't have FangJoker or Xtreme, because those can't just be attacks due to how they work.
>>23634549Plus forms just aren't part of the standard for a "complete" character in Super Robot Wars anymore.
>>23634386I would've probably settled on finishers for HeatMetal and LunaTriggerLike why is HeatMetal even here when it doesn't use any heat
>>23634400Nah K is great.I'm enjoying the LP.
>>23634602yeah it's usually J that's the bad apple in the JKL trilogy
>>23634614J's fine.
>>23634598W's and Accel's movesets should have been like Gridman's where outside of the initial cheap base combo, everything goes straight to a finisher finisher.
>>23634549>because those can't just be attacks due to how they work.FangJoker, yeah, but Xtreme definitely could be an attack. They don't need to show Philip's body being absorbed/expelled since the series itself sometimes skipped that, and if they wanted to show it they have the anime design, there's no issue.

How did Super Hero Generation handle different Rider forms anyway? Were they all just attacks too?
>>23634775Because of the way that S2's final battle works, they'd have to make them into individual units.
>>23634747Have you tried killing yourself? You should.
>>23634779Yeah, pretty sure that's how it worked then too. Black RX, W, Wizard and OOO all just changed into a new form for the attack animation.

I'm so impatient. I need Ryoma in my SRW games.
Shame the DLC kinda drained my excitement. I wonder how much attacks the next batch will have. It's really jarring when you compare the units to 30's DLC.
I've finished the first season of Aquarion. Which means I have officially watched EVERY SHOW FEATURED IN Z1!!!I never thought I'd end up doing it. Especially when I was up against stuff like Grendizer's crap subs, missing subs for a couple of the Toei Dynamic specials, or the entire Getter Robo Saga manga. But I've done it. And now I can brag about doing it and feel mostly safe playing the game.I still feel like I've got a couple obligations, though - watching all of Evol and Logos to learn what's up with Apollo's sense of smell, watching Gaogaigar because of Rand, and maybe watching New Getter Robo to cover all the bases of Ishikawa-era Ryouma. But I still feel like I've actually done some amount of due diligence today.

Echika has a maid army>no GravionAncient super civilization called the Evolvers>no GGG Final12000 year cycle>no Aquarion
>>23634947What made them think going with THAT artstyle was at all a good idea?
>>23634951Anon, the artstyle end up being the least of the problems, if a problem at all, of MoE compared to, huh, almost everything else.
>>23634951The artstyle was fine, I just didn't give a damn about the show in any way.
>>23634950Gravion and Aquarion would've been nice. Esp. the maid army would've been a stellar cross-over opportunity. But the Evolvers are tied in with the Macross Protoculture already. ... (and the actual GGG terminology is Evoluder; not Evolver)
>>23634948>Your diligence means nothing if you are doing out of a meaningless 'obligation' rather than fun.I don't have anything I want to do for fun. So I call things "homework" to motivate myself into doing SOMETHING other than masturbate all day. And how the fuck does motive invalidate the fact that I did indeed watch this stuff?
>>23634954It was that bad?
>>23634974>And how the fuck does motive invalidate the fact that I did indeed watch this stuff?...because it's commercial entertainment, and you weren't entertained. And this place, loads of shitposting aside, was made for people that likes to watch japanese cartoons. Which begs the question on why you are really here for, and the answer is usually (but not always): "I want to 'fit in' in this place, and maybe take it over", socially speaking, given the most frequent dopamine burnouts, besides drugs, are caused by excessive social interactions. Or at least the illusion of said interactions over the internet.>>23634987Bad in a sense that it was boring. It doesn't do stuff badly enough that people still talk about it for years, like EVOL dog fucking, it just drags out stuff (despite it being only 12 episodes) or do it in a lazy way. I dare say that almost nothing important happens until the 2 last episodes and even then it's not worth it.
Playing Portable A, is Texas Mack supposed to be this useful? This dude is a pretty great unit so far.
>>23634994Would you say it's more or less entertaining than literally watching grass grow?
>>23635004By all means, it should be, and if one thinks that is not the case, said person need some help, badly.
>>23634995Texas Mack just needs some love to keep up. Believe in Too Much High Power Man, Too Much High Power.
>>23634994>it's commercial entertainment, and you weren't entertained.Except I was? I had plenty of fun watching Mazinger Z, Grendizer, Getter G and Armageddon, Zambot and Daitarn, Baldios, Orguss, King Gainer, Gravion Zwei and Aquarion. I was motivated to watch these shows because they were on the reading list, but the reasons that got me to them did not prevent me from enjoying them, and if it wasn't for Z1 I likely never would have found any of these shows except maybe the Tomino ones. Two years ago I blitzed through all of Attack on Titan (anime and manga) inside of two months just so I could be there and laugh in real time when Toonami aired the "NO I DON'T WANT THAT" scene, and in doing so I enjoyed it so much it inspired me to start watching mecha shows.I'm here to fit in, but I don't want to take over. I barely interact with anybody, I don't use Discord, I have no friends, and there's no way in hell I'm ever taking drugs or alcohol. I'm looking for purpose and happiness in my life, and sometimes I call that purpose "homework" to push myself into it.Aquarion was really enjoyable. I got used to the CG when it was using it to do bonkers things like the Mugen Punch, the characters were fun and likable, the romantic tension is endearingly goofy, I'm shocked at how I managed to comprehend all the koans, and I'd gladly watch Evol if it's going to be more of this same stuff.
