Something a lot of people don't get is that just because Zeon are fucking terrible does not mean that the Federation are good. In a sense, the Feds are more insidious than Zeon, as their suckiness is tolerable. They turn up the heat slowly, never fix anything, and are way more effective at squashing reform movements that would actually fix UC's problems, thus pushing people towards radicalism like space nazism.On the other hand, Zeon under the Zabis is so retardedly evil and in your face about it that it'll collapse itself in no time. The only issue is that they'll take a lot of humanity in their death throes (something that nearly occurred in GQX). Zeon winning is also a kick to the balls to humanity and will get them to fix their shit since they're not going to bother hiding or obfuscating problems like the Feds. I think it's akin to HF poisoning. A high concentration of HF will kill you quick, but you'll also feel it if it gets on you, so are more likely to apply first aid and seek treatment. A low concentration feels like getting splashed with water, and the pain doesn't become apparent until two days later, and by that point, it's already fucked up your heart and organs.
