Armored Core is the perfect middle ground since a lot of the designs are tactical instead of sentai even when a lot of Gundam artists worked on the games. Also battlekeks and titans (titanfall) would get raped by ACs, MAYBE the 40k titans would win but if a starter AC can bring down a coral strider the size of a state I think its a David vs Goliath situation.
I know the LC isn’t an AC

>hard canon

Source? Emperor titans have been described as so large that imperial guardsmen go insane in disbelief how huge something can be, visible from space, and a missed shot from a solex cannon causes rapid global warming and destroys the very planet they're standing on. There is no true "hard canon" on their exact size but i just go by the poetic description from literature as a guide.
>>
>>23651925
What was it that had some sort of leg with wheels/treads in it and it kicked a guy and spun the wheel/tread into his face in the manner of a belt sander?
>>
>>23652276
Since they started making models of them again. 55 metres for an emperor titan. The old models weren't that huge either. It's just BL taking poetic liberty like usual. Eva 01 is taller than an emperor titan by like a 3rd, and even the largest maybe-canon figures put it eye to eye with an emperor titan, ignoring only the spires on top. Big Zam is also slightly taller.
You can't sell a model that can't fit on the table, and they want it to play nice at 6mm for epic.
>>
>>23651925
It's important because reverse legs are not digitigrade.

>>
>>23653110
Almost everything that fans think is "canon warhammer" is just decades of hearsay and fanlore. I've never seen a community that knows so little about it's own object of obsession. It's like watching a bunch of kids hyping each other up with urban legends and it gets a little more ridiculous each time.
>>
>>23653134
Thats kind of what warhammer is though. Its a mega rediculous OP power trip. You need that retarded fanbase with the hyper passion to fuel it. Like you said earlier: GW will make it less impressive so it can sell. If warhammer was JUST titans then they wouldn't have to worry about scaling them relative to 10ft space marines.

Wait when was i shoehorning chicken legs? I like all types of apendages if it looks cool. I was just telling you that in the sense of large machines: all legs are inferior in every field compared to continuous tracks so arguing practicality is silly.

Also why would you use boston friggin dynamics as an example against reverse apendages? Those guys just do legs small scale.
>>
>>23652276
>Emperor titans have been described as so large that imperial guardsmen go insane in disbelief how huge something can be
That doesn't necessarily prove anything because an imperial guardsman could well be a medieval peasant from a planet where crossbows are considered high-tech.

Nah, 40k oldfag here. My fanbase will chew aluminium foil before admitting it, but ACs and plenty of Gundams (albeit higher end ones) have taken out enemies more dangerous.a d resiliant than Titans. Even Emperor-Class Titans tend to be surrounded by the vast armies fighting alongside them, and even they would likely be overwhelmed if not for the fact that it's merely the biggest fighting target in an environment rich with them. Void shields absolutely DO get overwhelmed, Titans DO fall, and it's not always another Titan than brings them down.

Even Space Marines die perfectly often to fairly mundane military means by our standards or sometimes just fighting hive scum on occasion, but ask a 40kfag and suddenly a scout would body John-117 himself in-armor, and whatever you do, don't EVER bring up that time a Harlequin (as in NOT a Solitaire, a fucking Harlequin) killed a bunch of Custodes in the imperial palace itself during the War of the Beast, they REALLY like to pretend those books, and by extension that shit, didn't happen.

When 40k stuff gets in vs debates, they DO usually win, but on the same basis that their victories usually materialize in-universe; no matter how powerful or deadly your forces are, you simply won't have enough ammunition or resources to fight the Imperium and you WILL lose eventually. It's just a matter of time. They will always have more to throw at you, and they care about winning even the smallest fight more than humans of any other era or setting could possibly comprehend.
>>

>power level faggot shit
>m.jpg
>a d

>>
>>23657954
Not really, I mean the Imperium may always 'have' more but not necessarily more they can send at you because the Imperium has thousands of active conflicts, but that's playing by 40k's setting rules, let's play by another one.
Imagine for a moment a setting like Gundam, now imagine the entire solar system for unified in common purpose (like say... out of a need to defend itself from an empire of a million worlds). It'd take time to build up but casually looking online at other people who have done the math on this for what could theoretically be achieved from the resources in the real solar system, 60 billion colonies that can hold 1 million people each? Lets halve it to 30 billion colonies for materials for other things, does 5 mobile suits per colony seem reasonable? 150 billion mobile suits. Imperium still probably wins because of some solar system killer a tech priest has locked away from the DAOT but that's a different question.

Yes the Imperium flattens all factions presented in UC, but UC unintuitively by being more realistic has insane unrealized conventional military potential compared to 40k.

Something something Remembrance of Earth's Past, something something Xeelee.

60,000,000,000 x 1,000,000 = 60,000,000,000,000,000 total people? nah man

sorry, I'mma be that guy but in UC lore they only maxed out at like 10 billion people living in space, and that's right before they started the wars that decimated the human space-living population. also the databooks with the craziest high numbers for MS production say maybe like 9000 total Zakus were built and that was already more than the Feds' total. if we're being generous then maybe 15000 MS total ever built (including destroyed) at the end of the one year war UC time.

>>
>>23666291
What was that whole debacle? I hear bits and pieces constantly and apparently it'd only recently everything was all settled?
>>
>>23667679
Apparently TCI thought they had the image rights to what would become the "Unseen" but they didn't...
...But then it turns out Harmony Gold didn't hold them either, and recently a judge checked their shit for their constant legal warfare, all because Piranha Games were the only ones to actually challenge them on it.
>>
>>23667679
>>23667703

TCI was an importer for all kinds of Japanese hobby products (model kits, board games, magazines, etc) and would sometimes work with the official companies to re-package stuff for the American market. For example, they got Bandai to let them rebrand Yamato kits with the Starblazers logo. That meant they could get plenty of raw artwork from Japanese companies, which they appeared to do with the Nitto and Nichimo kits that Fasa repackaged with early versions of Battletech. They sure as fuck weren't getting proper clearance as any other instance of a fully licensed Macross or Dougram product had a company logo on it. Just look at any vintage Jetfire or those weird Monogram Gobots kits that were just rebranded Mospeada stock. Both had the Tatsunoko seahorse and full credit to any other Japanese companies involved. At best TCI gave Tatsunoko and Sunrise a "Special Thanks" to cover their asses. Fasa wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth and didn't question any of this until years later when they get involved with the Exosquad debacle.

I think your demonizing TCI a little too much here, you have to remember that International Copyright Laws didn't exist until this point.
I don't think there is much resentment from the other side of the Pacific, especially since FASA went to Studio Nue and Shōji Kawamori for the Japanese print of BattleTech.

>because Piranha Games were the only ones to actually challenge them on it
It was a money issue. Piranha was bankrolled in the lawsuit by Microsoft, because they're the ones who actually own the Mechwarrior IP. FASA and CGL folded on their respective lawsuits because they were/are small, tinpot operations without the cash to fight an uncertain IP lawsuit.
>>
>>23668463
Fairly certain FASA and Catalyst didn't have a suit against Piranha, it was more that they didn't have the backing to counter-sue Harmony Gold.
