My autism is very confused about G-Witch's worldbuilding on one particular topic, /m/, and it's about how there seem to be ten thousand different private armies. How exactly do Benerit Group's security forces work? I tried making sense of this by reading the WfM light novel and the M&W book, but it only left me with further questions, since it just seems extremely complex in a way that's not explained. There's the Front Management Company, which is responsible for the Front maintenance and security. They pilot the Demi Garrison mobile suits. Their existence is actually explained rather well. However, then you get to the muddy part with the Earth Garrison Force that you mainly see on Earth. I initially thought that it was a separate service meant to protect corporation's Earth assets from rivals and terrorists, but it turns out that this might not be the case at all. It seems like Benerit's member corporations also have their private security forces, which is only really relevant in episodes 11 and 12, when Jeturk sends away their own "patrol fleet" from Plant Quetta. I initially thought that this was just the corp's own private security, meant to protect main assets in space, but in episode 13, they specifically tell us that Grassley and Peil warships were sent to Earth to hunt terrorists. The light novel even specified that the security force MS in episode 15 were from this fleet, but the episode itself only mentioned that they were part of the Earth Garrison. Moreover, they were acting in unison under the same "Garrison Command", which pretty clearly points towards them being a part of the same fighting force, and not just separate forces acting together.
>>23647633(Cont.)This is made even more confusing by the fact that their normal suits do not match the actual uniforms of the companies. Every single company and organization in Ad Stella has their own normal suits, which you see throughout the show. Asticassia has one, Jeturk has one, Grassley has one, etc. Here are examples from Jeturk and Grassley.Jeturk normal suit https://files.catbox.moe/jcld4r.pngGrassley normal suit https://files.catbox.moe/y1xydi.pngWe see into the cockpits of a Zowort Heavy and a Heindree Sturm on Earth in episodes 15 and 20, and they wear the exact same normal suit. Heindree Sturm: https://files.catbox.moe/9deiac.pngZowort Heavt: https://files.catbox.moe/mgdxna.pngIf they're working for separate corporations, they should be wearing two very different sets of normal suits, and the Heindree pilot should be wearing a Grassley normal suit. But as things are, their normal suits are actually exactly the same, which means that they are working for the same organization. Perhaps Earth Garrison has its own normal suits, but I can't really come up with why they'd suddenly switch them.So once again, I have to ask, how exactly does Benerit's security force work? Is Earth Garrison its own separate organization? Are they a single organization with the corps just financing and arming them with MS and warships, or are they composed of multiple security organizations that act under individual corporations? I used to think that it was the latter, but reading through the light novel has just made things more confusing. It feels like there's a hidden answer to this somewhere, but the only way to be sure is to ask Okouchi in the case he hasn't forgotten yet.
>>23647639Nomal-ass answer: as was with the main WfM TV, certain parts of the world were left out due to lack of time (this is a show that needed 52 episodes), so this part about how things work was not flesh out, and probably will never be since this corporate side of things is not attractive to audiences over a normal-ass school AU manga.In-universe answer: you know how big real life corporations have a lot of excessive management jobs and sub divisions problems due to nepotism and other dumb policies? There you go, that's probably the same with Benerit, specially given the japanese inheritance mentality mixed in, you get a mess of a organization structure that the corporations themselves only vaguely knows how it works, even with military matters involved.
Never try to think about media more than it's creators ever did
>>23647720That makes sense to a point, but I didn't get the idea that there was a massive confusion in how things are run, more than that they're not just explained to the audience too well. Delling was a former militaryman, and he would have more than likely been interested in how the Group's security is arranged. I think there are two options in how things are being run, which explains all the problematic details.>Group has its own security force, run by an unified command, which answers to the Group's president and leaderboard, hiring and training its own men and pilots. The big three corporations all contribute to this collective security with their own mobile suits and warships, which gives them influence over how things are run in the security forces, which is why Vim was able to divert the Jeturk patrol away from the Plant. Alongside this, the corporations have their own much smaller security forces, which only answer to them.Alternatively.>Earth Garrison Force is its own singular organization, limited to protecting Group's Earth assets. It hires and trains its own men and pilots, but are given mobile suits, warships, and weapons by the corporations. This organization is separate from the corporations' own securities, as it has its own normal suits and command structure. Defenses in space are organized independently by the individual corporate securities, including Front Management Company, with each force having their own jurisdiction and area of operations.

>>23648631>>23648809My impression is that it's NATO-like. Each company maintains their own distinct forces kept to certain company standards, which can be operated through a more unified command when required, and that unified command probably has a few units that are distinctly 'their own'.NATO directly own some AWACS, drones and tankers operated by crews sourced from multiple member nations.
>>23647633You're thinking about it too hard. It's just your typical fantasy military like Bleach's 13 squads or the Magic Knights from Black Clover. Special members like the "captains" or officers wear the branded squad outfits or semi-custom outfits and the nameless grunts who are only around as fodder wear some minor variation of a normal outfit. It's the Shinsengumi all the way down
>>23647633Funny, my autism made me ask "If delegalizing Gundams was such a big deal (in the Prequel Episode and all), then how come every Corpo has at least one? The story even focused on delegalization of that technology and suddenly everyone pulls out their Gundam."
>>23659510only two corpos have Gundams though and only one was developed while Deiling was going full witch hunt
>>23659525Aerial was also developed physically remotely from the rest of the company, and an overhaul of an existing mobile suit more than a new design.Peil meanwhile were regularly murdering their test pilots to keep their secret.
people only care about Yuri.
>>23647633Wait a minute... WFM doesn't have any mono-eye suits. These are all just Jims.
>>23665491the minor companies have some
>>23665491>>23665514The terrorists in 15 also have one.
>>23665491>WFM doesn't have any mono-eye suits
They’re all Leviathans who refuse to have sex with men. Woke Propaganda
>>23665870It's still a visor. Not like the GM's, but more the Flags from Anno Domini/Gundam 00.
>>23665870Demis are proper GM expies, I will not be listening to this slander!
Witch from Mercury is not my least favorite Gundam but it has some of the worst, barely fleshed out world building of the franchise. You know it's bad when Age did a better job than you.
>>23659510And here I thought it was commentary on capitalism but it was really just a big plot hole >>23665870
