it does seem like the implication is that Hazel Hrair and Woundwort share quite a lot of parts. Naturally Woundwort is compatible with TR-S by design since it's compatible with bloody everything but it's more than that. In this drawing >>23648694 it seems to have the same armor shape on the inner side of the thighs, just covered up by skirt armor/subarms. Shitty drawing by yours truly.
We can also see the forearm is just straight up the exact same as Woundwort's but Hrair gets larger upper arms not unlike Haze'n-thley II.
My guess is TR-S and TR-6 share a lot of the inner frame, or rather TR-6 reuses the design of TR-S's with modifications for its wider operation capabilities.

in addition to everything the other anon just said, the skirt armour is supposed to unfold into subarms as well but we haven't gotten a look at that yet.

if you look at the old lineart you can also clearly see the woundwort thighs are taken straight from the drawings he's released, but from the back view they appear to not have the unfolding lower leg and foot elements.
>>
>>23649448
do you have the backshot handy? That could probably give us a better picture of what the thighs look like

>>
>>23649486
>>23649487
you're right, the thighs are weirdly obfuscated. Wonder if it's intentional? I imagine since this came out around the time the AoZ gunpla started gaining traction, maybe he's redesigning the thing to make it easier to gunpla-ify
>>
>>23649493
The Woundwort thighs were built to do exactly what this thing does, so the models don't really need to change at all. The front part of the Woundwort's thighs probably needs a new cover to fit nicely under all that bulk though.

Ultimately the Barzam II kit is actually extremely close to the TR-S (and intentionally so).
>>
>>23649497
even with all the proportions fuckery? Given the "new" size of the wundy kits, a HG TR-S using those proportions would be PG-sized
>>
>>23649493
Fujioka typically designs mecha with models in mind, at least to some degree. Exact proportions between drawings can be inconsistent for the sake of aesthetics but especially in Flag of Titans the sketches sometimes had little notes about how this or that could be engineered on a kit or if it's a variant then it'd be nice to keep parts of the original etc.
>>
>>23649498
The TR-S's body structure is, again, extremely similar to the Barzam II. It probably has slightly longer lower legs with the redesign, but you can go put Hazel legs on a Barzam II kit and you effectively have a discount Hazel Hrair. If you put those legs on the Hyzenthlay II you might arguably be closer.
>>

I'm the other kitbash anon, I would like to try that. If I had a Haze'n-thley II, that is. Though look at Barzam II's kit I don't think it's gonna be all that close proportionally to Hrair. Leg area is pretty on point but the torso especially would be way off
>>23649513
This feels closer to me but one damn strange thing is that we can't really tell how the waist/torso part works, especially regarding drum frame(s). It seems to me like there's one in the waist area and a second in the back, so it might end up pretty different from Haze'n-thley II where they're stacked on top of each other.
>>
>>23649513
That's Psyco Gundam size, isn't it?. Those big gaps under the arm seem perfect for underslung guns though. Also, are those F90 mission packs in the back? What are you cooking?

>>23649558
It's tough to say but we know it's still using the primrose II and, honestly, it appears to just plug down into a backwards Barzam II with the dong now being a dickbutt. Were it using the Hyzenthlay double vertical drumstack we'd probably see it.

I forgot we have its bust too, probably hasn't been massively overhauled or anything like that.
Looking at it here I am guessing this drum frame is the one we see in the back here >>23649486 while the one peeking out at the top here >>23648694 would be situated below.
>>

435 KB PNG
And we've also had Barzam, Haze'n-thley II and Hrair lined up in the Hrududu II compatibility graph. Here there's the "vertical" kind of drum frame mounted on the back, but I believe it is attached to the drum frame in the back rather than the waist one. Unless I'm misreading this completely, which is very possible.
>>
>>23649579
I guess this means no waist pivot
>>
>>23649577
It certainly seems like the >>23648694 picture here is showing two, with an extra mounted in a diagonal to the other. But where that mounts appears to instead be a bellows frame in this >>23649486 one to me, and like you noted a dual drum of the other variety in that art there.

It seems to me the entire body of the TR-S is actually just the Woundwort but without the foldout legs from this image. It's worth noting that bust is specifically El-Ahrairah's in the higher detail art, and like the little notes beneath show the basic TR-S doesn't have the folded up arms or the fancy chest covering but instead a boxier, basic chest and Production Barzam II/Owsla shoulders.

Do you think The O's design ethos could be applied to TR plan configurations? Being Scirocco's MS it was too expensive for mass production, but the TR plan is all about finding ways to mass produce shit anyways
>>
>>23650441
The O's problem isn't even so much about cost (even if that's also a problem) but rather that Scirocco was just fundamentally completely disinterested in giving the suit any potential usage beyond his personal pimpmobile. If you wanted to turn it into a mass production model you'd be better off starting from zero with the aim of achieving similar functionality which would end up as... a pretty regular GM-type MS or something of the sort.
At its core The O isn't about any unique feature like psycommu or transformation functions, it's about mobility and front line combat just like the Gundam. And when you tweak that doctrine for mass production the end result is just GM.

Wasn't it designed for
>Extreme durability
>High Thrust
>Close Combat

I don't think most "gundam-type" MS fit into that role, most are all roundars, usually with an emphasis on long range (well, beam rifle range) and having a single saber as a backup weapon. The O has four swords and they are its primary armaments. WEll, it does also have a fuckoff huge beam rifle but that's hardly unique
>>
>>23650531
All this does describe the RX-78-2 when it was made. Most durable and agile mobile suit to date, equipped with beam weapons and designed to fight in close combat as part of the Operation V team with Guncannon and Guntank providing medium- and long-range support.
The O is the same thing for the modern era and technology. Gimmicks like the subarms and Biosensor are there to enhance these basic functions. Instead of a shield it's heavily armored but the armor houses fuel and thrusters to give it tremendous mobility.
It emulates Gundam's functions but in pursuit of that it turns into a big ol' gross yellow banana and forgets Gundam's role above all else was as a prototype for the mass production models. The O has no legacy.
Palace Athene and Bolinoak Samahn are also modern takes on the Operation V trifecta. Palace Athene's parallel to Guncannon is self-explanatory but in the realities of Gryps War's high mobility combat a dedicated artillery unit akin to Guntank wouldn't work so the long-range support role was replaced with EWAC and information warfare.

>>
>>23650798

Instructions unclear, is this what you meant?

Thinking about it, is the Kondo/Kobayashi style the antithesis of Fujioka design? Fujioka uses Modular, clearly distinct elements to build a greater whole, and his MS have flat panels and sleek femboy proportions. Meanwhile the Zimmerit bros make rounded textured masses with fat bastard proportions, hard to tell where parts start and end and thye give the feeling of being some sort of cancerous mass that grew out of control, like no two MS are the same despite being the same model. I love both styles.

That's the Kehaar II beam cannon, folded up. Made by Effect Wings.

Changed some stuff around for my Gigantic Arms Owsla.

I used to be pretty anal about displaying my models as accurate to lineart as possible, any deviation from it simply wasn't canon in my mind.

But the 100th volume about the various Kelderek loadouts really changed my mind. There is no limit and there is no canon. Just do whatever you want.

So fuck it, give the Owsla the Mk-V beam rifle. It's as real as anything else.

I've been trying to think of ways to swap the winch cannons for something else, but nothing else comes up on my mind. Ideas welcome.

This is a fiddly one, but looks very nice.

I have so many Woundworts lying around that I'm not sure if I grabbed the Bandai original or one of my bootlegs for it. Oh well.

Can't quite nail the pose from the illustration because the Hrududu II attachments on the shoulders negate most of the articulation on the arms. And the TR-6 has such tiny arms that it doesn't really have much room for movement on the elbows.

That's the right attitude, Fujioka always encourages putting random shit together, nevermind how many times the blurbs list optional equipment "and others" so people can make up their own shit. AoZ traces its roots to when he played a Sentinel RPG in school and made an OC Barzam and stuff.
For other sub arm options, Woundy's CBSs have two 3mm holes in them so it's easy to plug them there, but they're pretty heavy so it's a pain in the butt.
If you have a Gaplant lying around the 4mm polycaps can be switched out for 3mm ones with no modification too.
>>23652238
Damn, I'm surprised how well this works in kit form. Even if it's fiddly, that's pretty much unavoidable for Woundy.
