I liked that it wasn't just a good movie but a good movie for and about Shouma. Seeing a world where the atrocities that happened in his world didn't take place but also not feeling like he should disturb their happiness and then being there for the alternate version of himself when no one was for him. Great character stuff.

The movie was not bad, a pleasant character arc for Shouma, but still felt like they wasted a lot of potential for a summer movie. Like what is the origin behind the dimension doors? Why are they doing another Shouma-clone story after the other Shouma-clone story in the show? What about defining Bouche as a villain? Just so many questions from the show's canon that could have been explored further instead of a what-if alternative world (because yes, that worked so well with the Gaim Soccer movie).The weakest part of rider movies is and will always still the shit villains. I don't know who at Toei keeps insisting that kids would like random-ass world-destroying villains who are only tell,-not-show and have no connectivity to the main plot, but that guy needs to wake up in time for the Zetz movie. Please, just stop making these villains already.
