You need to use GGX thinner with that stuff to make it work right. This probably explains a lot of your paint issues. For brush painting it should be close to 1:1.5 because it needs to be even thinner for good results.

A 10Kw electric one since I already have an outlet for an electric car charger and I'm only going to be running it for a dozen or two hours a month so the cost isn't crazy.If you don't have electric, get a diesel or propane one that lets you exhaust it outside along with your airbrushing exhaust. Don't get one of the cannon propane ones though. Those put out a ton of heat quickly and cheaply, but they pump a shit ton of humidity into the room which you don't want.

>>23661892I think the matt looks good, if you want a more shiny surface I would use a semi gloss instead of a full gloss. also I highly recommend getting a few ak brushes, they are really good for fine detail work. I really like the shading you did under the cheeks and on the protruding areas like the nose. but if I can give you some advice: use a mix of haul red and pink around the eyes and use light flesh tone for the eyes themselves. blend the skin tone around the eye outline to give it a more refined outline, and glaze a mix of pink and flesh tone around the eyes to give it a flushed appearance. also when dotting the eyes try to make the Iris closer to the nose even if the figure is looking away.I posted this wip pick awhile back and I've been really trying to improve my face painting skills. so I just want to share what I do, hopefully it helps.that said I really like your color placement for the camo I think that's something I really need to improve on.

It required a very complex weld because you don't just need to weld the two halves, but one of the spikes too. But it's not just two halves of a spike. The middle spike is split in half, but the top of the spike is completely on one piece. The ring at the tip is also only molded on one of the pieces so it needed filed to complete. The ankles are weak and the leg armor fits together poorly. There's a lot of parts on it that are just clamshells with a polycap in the middle.Overall, the end result is nice but it required a lot of work to get there that no other zaku type model requires. It also can't pose for shit when you include the rockets on the waist, which is why I just didn't use them. I did like the rubber heat pipes in the legs and arms though. I read that using the hotter thinners will help it stick and I think that one would work best since it evaporates off the quickest. After that I can use the gentler thinner without having to worry.
Could orange peel be a sanding issue? I sand with 600 before priming because someone told me it would help with adhesion. I wouldn't be surprised if it was my airbrush work that's causing it, but I'm trying to isolate the causes.
