So despite Geats, Zero-One and so far Zeztz having better directing and action, Zero-One's decline in quality with its middle is far worse than anything from Ex-Aid plus a less satisfying ending, Geats' second half while not as terrible is considerably weaker and has the worst building of Takahashi's 3 shows. Ultimately the biggest problem with Zero-One is that Takahashi had no idea how to write motw into the job competition idea that Omori came up with and with Geats it was Takebe forcing him to drop his idea for Keiwa despite the first half setting it up plus Takahashi not being tardwrangled when it came to villains.

Just finished Geats Q1. I wasn't thrilled by the first arc but thought it picked up in the 10s. The action has been the highlight so far. I watched the movie too, which was silly fun. The Fortnite rider was cool. Also Glare is one of the sexiest suits I've seen. I love suits that keep the classic rider silhouette with a new spin.

Anyone else thinks this is the weakest character in Zeztz by far? Yeah, she's technically important to the plot, but she has spent most of the episodes so far just stating obvious things and being cute. Even as a Heroine she isn't much of an emotional support, Baku usually gets over his dilemmas on his own or with the help of characters other than her like the kid from the previous 2-parter. Even Nasuka is contributing more to the episodes by being Fujimi's straight man and voice of reason.

That's why most of the villains getting redeemed in his shows feel like whiplash because they'll be pure evil until the last minute before their redemption. I know Gavv gets harped on for dragging with the Bitter stuff, but I do genuinely think that show did character writing and interactions really well that Shouma, Hanto, and Sachika were practically fully developed by the end of Q1 and Lakia didn't need a whole quarter to establish his development either. Zeztz's Q1 has been an utter mess with nothing really moving forward with any of the characters, but I do think that once Q2 rolls around and Nox finally gets over his excited edgelord stint it'll be a much smoother ride.
