What were the pros and cons of these two episodes according to (you)?
>>
>>23668573
Cons was Abandoning the creation number one threads and not turning Knuckle into his red state.
Assault on the Bridan castle sucks.
Kumade sucks.Plain and simple

Pro's, I was surprised by the death flags not going off for bouquet.
We we still have 7 episodes so Garyudos betrayal this early is interesting
Its an ambitious episode.
>>
She's a cocomelon parent lol
>>
I liked the execution of the Rikuo Bouquet climax scenes themselves but I feel like we're short 1 or 2 focus episodes on them together to nail Rikuo's affection for her. As it stands now it feels like we're getting an idol who accidentally knocked up a fan and is taking responsibility for it over two people with mutually strong feelings for each other. Did that get lost in the scandal damage control reshoots?

>We we still have 7 episodes so Garyudos betrayal this early is interesting
Yeah that was jarring to see. Next episode looks like a penultimate one so what exactly do have planned for the last stretch if they're kicking off one of their biggest plot threads this early? Are we getting a proper legends type scenario to see the franchise off that they somehow managed to keep under wraps?

>pros
Bouquet and Fire Candle continue giving the best performances of the show.
>cons
The rest. In spirit, I like that Rikuo refuses to give up on a fan after his fans abandoned him. The execution was just not very good. He acknowledges that Bouquet is in pain, but not WHY she is suffering. And afterward there's nothing about Bouquet understanding that Ribbon was destroying entire buildings (that had been safely evacuated just before the fighting broke out, of course) which led to Rikuo having to stop her.
>>
>>23668699
Well, there's the obvious "return of the actual calamity" (not just a servant like in the movie).
>>
>>23668573
Dude consistently gets the most memeable scenes in the show

What a trainwreck of an episode. The Ribbon storyline just sucked. There is no real pathos here because not only wasn't Ribbon around for long enough to make Bouquet's attachment to her feel organic, Rikuo was also 100% justified in taking her down since she was wrecking the city for the pettiest reason possible. The entire conflict felt contrived for Akiko to have her own version of the secret enemies trope with no regard for how well it came across.

The Kuon storyline also suffers a lot but it's really because of how little Kuon showed up in the show. It also makes Tega June look like a massive idiot because every time Kuon shows up he's betraying someone. Which to be fair is acknowledged, but she also tortured him for letting Sweet Cake die not too many episides ago. And they'd better have a good reason as to why he became such an asshole from his time on No One World.

Tega June's scenes with Goodeburn were cute though. Would have enjoyed more if Goodeburn had been a character for longer.

Kuon just sucks.
He was absent too much when he shouldn't have been, he just feels to disconnected from everything and they keep trying to act like they are bait and switching him actually being a bigger asshole than we realized, when we've never really had any reason to believe otherwise.

Japan loves to make light/fun of scandals. See MatsuraaP calling the whole thing the Calamity in his first blog back.
>>
>>23668699
I doubt it. We seem to have lost just the original episode 38 so far. Note they kept some scenes from OG 38 in the 38 we got because it led directly to OG 39 with Dekared (which ended up as 38 here). So, when they moved ahead 39 to skip the Sumino focused OG 38 they still needed those scenes for OG 39 moved to 38. So, there can't have been anything else between them.
>>
This show feels like it's missing like five episodes. Ribbon appeared and died before she left much of an impression, both in and out of universe. And Kuon only participated in like one episode since we saw him being tortured for his last betrayal. Neither of these characters are properly set up for the role they are given.
>>
>>23668699
>Did that get lost in the scandal damage control reshoots?
No, it was like that prior to any scandal. Inoue's just bad at writing.
>>
>>23668753
To be fair Ribbon's appearance was likely highly affected by the scandal reshoots. The recap episode where she fought GozyuUnicorn should be a focus episode on her (and sumino)
>>
>>23668770
I really don't feel like one more episode would have been enough, specially if they are doing the
>She secretly hates Bouquet
angle at the same time.
>>
This is retarded, Tega June has been aware of Koun testing his boundaries since like he first showed up, and it was presented like she was intentionally giving him special treatment and autonomy. Tega June torturing him for for not doing anything to help Sweet Cake is literally the only time it seemed like she expressed authority over him, and that was like Koun's second to last appearance.
Before that it felt like she already knowingly gave him the keys to the castle and was letting him do whatever he wanted, even bullying the other Bridan members. She literally let him pilot her. It seems fully unnecessary to present this was a big betrayal, before the Cladis drama, I would have assumed this was Tega June's intent in the first place.
>>
>>23668733
Nah kuon is just written like a normal showa prince to an evil empire.
Now Kumade is the one who sucks
>>
>>23668957
The only thing he sucks is his delicious honey, he's a fun guy.
>>
>>23669176
NTA but I think Kumade is a fun character in paper but neither the actor nor the writing pull out how crazy awesome this guy should be. He's aping to become a god, he should be a larger-than-life character but most of the time he's stuck on the background
>>
>>23668744
I don't think he was making fun of it given the tone of the overall text, he just made a really poorly thought out comparison.
>>
>>23669196
I think the actor does a good job personally, the biggest issue is his writing and how he's out of the 6 rangers the one with the least focus episodes
