Many different kinds of models are built here, ranging from mecha to planes, cars, musume, you name it! If you're new, you're gonna screw up. Don't worry! If you're seasoned, don't make the newbies worry! And don't forget to report shitposting and spam. They keep trying to push Tallgeese III and GQ RX-78-1 onto us. I'm starting to take this personally.Though on the flip side, this is the first time I've seen G-Defensor in like two years, so at least there's a positive.
>>23674282>Flag back in stockSweet. Also I'd buy that goog cannon if I didn't own one already.
>>23674282>Goog and Zak Cannon. Why yes I'll buy these two.

Back on the girlpla grind
>>23673809interesting. after battlefleet gothica was discontinued i thought there was no more tt space games
>>23674510For Dropfleet Commander, I only know it exists as I saw Eons of Battle painting some cool looking ships up. No idea how it plays.
>>23674530but no real ship models, right? kinda sad tbqh
>>23674539They looked decent size, like about the Star Wars Armada sized.
>>23674474Don't worry, i got you covered. New 1/144 from the Changs.

X-Pack got listed on P-Bandai US. Was expecting $35-40 not $46.
>>23674592considering how cheap the other mission packs I've bought are this is kind of disgusting>>23674575Absolutely worth getting imo, one of the best Zeon MGs
>>23674599I mean it seems to basically be a G-Fighter in the amount of plastic, hence why I was thinking 30+ already
>>23674605It's definitely among the most plastic heavy packs, no question there
>>23674592>>23674599Without tariffs it would probably be in the $35 range.I'm more irritated that there isn't anything else good in the May catalog. I don't have a Hashmal, or a RG Gundam Mk-II, and $62 for a Trombe is a bit out of my price range.
>>23674320iirc the turtle wasn't that long ago
>>23674617Isn't the RG MK2 retail? Why pay the Pbandai tax?
>>23674320their silence is deafening
>>23674620I meant, I don't own a RG Mk-II so buying the G-Defenser would be kind of a waste. And my box fort is big enough that I'm not looking to unnecessarily expand it just to spread the shipping charges around on a P-Bandai purchase.I guess I can afford to wait for a better catalog selection, and/or for the tariffs to blow over. After all, Cluster Gundam has been regularly available ever since it was released, same with N-Type. No reason to expect this not to be the case with X-Type. I could also just wait and see if anything else shows up in the May catalog, moreso since they removed the consolidation feature.
>>23674624Oh is the G-Defenser compatible with the RG and not just the HGUC? Flying armor obviously is, but if you can make an RG Super Gundam it would be neat.
>>23674625The P-Bandai G-Defenser is just the add-on from the old 2002 HGUC kit, except with waterslides and an adapter part so that it can fit onto the RG (by default it can attach to the 2015 Revive with no extra parts). Apparently it's still a good kit despite being so old.I do have the 2015 Revive (bought it as a pair with the Titans version), so technically I could still benefit from buying this alongside the X-Type mission pack, but apparently it's explicitly molded in colors that are the same as the RG kit. So if I do end up buying it, I would either need to acquire a RG Mk-II in the future (along with more third-party waterslides), or turn the Titans version into kitbash fodder (shock!). Boy do I hate first-world problems.
>g-difenser & flying armer sethow did they fuck it up that bad
>>23674643I think they feel obligated to list the products based on the actual name on the box, despite it being blatantly wrong. For instance, Tallgeese Flugel is always listed under Fluegel, and the pre-Decade Kamen Riders are all listed as Masked Rider.
>>23674639Huh might pick it up then even though I have the old HGUC MK2+Flying Armor kit.
The Eva VTOL kit looks pretty detailed
>>23674664oh shit I always wondered why the cockpit looks like that. Never realized it was a 2 seater
>>23674667It's a very pragmatic design, very different from the Eva units. I like the internal chain gun, would make for a great loadout diorama
>>23674282>i could've waited 20 days and got the garma zaku without paying a scalperi might be stupidat least i held on the zaku cannon
>>23672869Is the Tamiya primer sprayable at least?
>>23674704yes, it's lacquer. about equivalent to mr surfacer 1000 grit-wise.it adheres better to non-styrenes than mr surfacer does too, resin builders often opt for it over mr surfacer because it sticks to resin better
Is the p-bandai rg eva 01 night combat colors version worth the higher price?
>Hazel with an Icarus unitI did not expect this to get a kit but I'm always happy to see more AoZ stuff.$55 is fucking sttep though, this thing better come with a coupon for a free blowjob from one of those gunpla sluts Bandai has on their payroll.
Whenever I decide to try posing my gunpla I end up sweating profoundly, is there a scientific explanation for this? I just finished posing my PG Astray and now I need a bath
What the fuck is HiPlay and how are they selling these for under $20?I couldn’t even feel scammed for that little money.
>>23674821the actual price is like $15
>>23674625>>23674639good news, HGUC Super Gundam was recently reprinted too, so they might be fairly easy to find today.

I don't get the appeal of HG
>>23674831really makes you think
>>23674832MG gets jack shit for kits, RG gets even less. 40 years since Zeta and still no asshimar, no gabthley, no hambrabi, no gaplant, no baund doc, no fucking byarlant. Zero rep for some of the coolest suits in the series. HG delivers.
>>23674821It is 1/144 scaled. 20 dollars make sense.
>>23674850As you said, HG is a line for desperate people, in exchange to have almost everything, they are generally low quality and cheap.
>>23674831>all high gradesLame
It's a shame there aren't a lot of poses you can do with the PG Unicorn, just cause it's so goddamn big. Thankfully it looks really badass even in a standing pose
>>23674552Thats the coolest 'Zak, bar none. RG when? FATCAT RG 1/100 when? MG when? Metal Build when? PGU when?
>>23674854>>23674850HGs are slop
>>23674832they're cheap and abundant
I'm starting to think regular stickers aren't THAT bad. They're at least quicker to apply than slides, and the edges aren't super visible if you top coat.
>>23674832I like HG kits. They don't cost so much, are fun to build, and don't have too many greeble so they are fun to paint.
>>23674936>and don't have too many greeble
>>23674936What the fuck does greeble have anything to do with paint?
>>23674926i use them for masking sometimes
>>23674926once you make a mistake (misposition it), it's all over. water slides are the best because it gives you infinity margin of error.
>>23674939flat surfaces are a lot easier than needing to mask and panel line lots of surface details. Even when brush painting, too much fine detail is a pain in the ass.
>>23674948>Even when brush painting, too much fine detail is a pain in the ass. This is the equavilent of saying "being a retard is good because intelligence can be a pain in the ass sometimes". I cannot comprehend you Bandaitards.
>>23674955I actually do wish a was a retard sometimes, it would make life a lot easier.
Broke>I can only paint smooth kits can because greebles are challenging and scaryWoke>Give your kits more greebles in order to have a more challenging test to hone your skill and use it as a learning opportunity
>gunpla is freedom... freedom to like only greebled up master grades!
HGs take more skill.
>>23674832>>23674964HGs are broke, MGs are woke

>>23674979But but anon, it is impossible to snapshit Nanago's masterpiece stick figures?!! I thought his designs transcend the boundary of modelkit engineering?!
>>23674832More often than not, they're literally the only option you have if you want a kit of something that isn't a hero or main antagonist MS. Especially in recent years, where MG releases have slowed down to a trickle, RG still have yet to do anything that isn't a primarily featured MS, and 1/100 HG / RE/100 / Full Mechanics releases are either once in a blue moon or outright extinct. Also, the wide abundance of kits and parts makes them excellent for kitbashing/customization projects.
>>23674926The borders on transparent stickers are still super visible under topcoat.
>>23674985yeah, they're also really thick compared to good waterslides, so it's a lot harder to make a convincing transition
>>23674989>it's a lot harder to make a convincing transitionHeh
>>23674989>You will never be a decal
>>23674827Yes, I saw it at my local brick and mortar last week. But if I bought it, then I would also have to buy a non-Revive Gundam Mk-II alongside it, and that kit is so old and crappy that I'd hesitate to even use it for kitbashing fodder.
>Puke greenYikes.
>>23674979A plastic Yen Xing will make me cum
>>23674550Damn they are just cranking out kits left and right. I dig the design, bit more reserved on the spikey bits then usual
>>23674964Plain or "iconic" kits are far harder to paint than highly detailed ones imo

>>23675021>Plain or "iconic" kits are far harder to paint than highly detailed ones imoSaid no one ever
>>23675035Large smooth surfaces are harder to make interesting or realistic since you have to add detail by freehand rather than relying on the detail in the geometry
>>23675037See>>23675038
are there any good acrylic options for weathering effects and grime or is it all enamels and oils and such?i really dislike fumy solvent based workflows
>>23675038That's just you being a greeble faggot and have to cope with the lack of it. You can just spray the basic kit with rattlecans and call it a day.
>>23674977i always thought it was funny how wings shoulder pads are just blue shoes
>>23675038>Large smooth surfaces are harder to make interesting or realisticMatte topcoat
>>23675047>That's just you being a greeble faggotVolumetric highlighting and realistic surface wear and unevenness are not greeble>>23675050Looks like shit
>>23675055
>>23675055>Volumetric highlighting and realistic surface wear and unevenness are not greebleYou literally don't need to do all of those. Smearing the kit with bunch of rust and feces is not mandatory.
next group build theme: No HG kits allowed
>>23675061It is if you don't want your kit to look like a toy
>>23675063They are toys lmao. Unless you paint boomer stuff like human soldiers, these robots are just toys.
>>23675065What separates a robot model from a tank model in terms of whether they are toys or not?
>>23675067Those are toys as well.
>>23675068So they should only be painted to look like toys, with no regard to verisimilitude?
>try a new matte spray>comes out pleasantly matte>try it again>hi glosswhat the fuck did I do wrong?
>>23675062BRB going to scrounge the internet for old 1/144 NG kits to use in the next groupbuild.
I've noticed that the captchas are different today than they were yesterday, I think they've dumbed them down for all the midwits that were whining about them. They weren't hard to begin with, but still feel noticeably easier.>>23675072probably didn't shake it enough, or applied a coat that was too thick
>>23674832They're the most common grade and with the relative lack of detail (compared to RG or MG), they make for good canvases if you want to scribe and stuff.
>>23674282Reprint when?
>>23675080>and with their relative anime accuracy (compared to RG or MG) they make for good material if you want to ruin themInsane logic
>>23675088Well if you're just starting out, wouldn't you rather ruin a cheap kit than an expensive one?
>>23675075there are historical scale models in 1/144 too
>>23675046I like this rust one made by Vallejo. Ammo acrylic washes and filters are also good, particularly their Starship Wash if you want your mechs to look nice and dirty.
>>23675096Scribing at all is ruining the kit unless you have to rescribe existing recesses that are too shallow
