Hello everyone, I am going to go see the gothicmade movie today. I don’t speak moon so I’m mostly just going for the cool robots but can someone give me a breakdown of the plot or story elements so I can try to follow along?
>>23676039You're not going to get any useful replies because no one here has read or cares about FSS outside of five Mortar Headd linearts and will only ask you to camrip the movie (enjoy jail btw).
>>23676039based, I've heard mixed opinions on it, so lets us know your thoughts
cool
>>23676039anon, this is a sneaking mission
>>23676046Damn ok well thanks for keeping it real. Honestly I’m still new to the FSS but I’ve been making progress on it. Well anyway if anyone is going to Japan soon there’s a really cool Nagano art exhibition with all his famous illustrations that the gothicmade screenings are coinciding with. I ended up getting the art book too.
Apparently there's barely any robot action.
>>23676090Sounds like it's a good adaptation of FSS then.
>>23676090that's FSS in an utshell. You read it for the femboys, the cool mecha are a nice plus.
>>23676039This might be what you're looking for:https://www.tsundokudiving.com/talking-movies-gothicmade/
They won't let you in because you're a gaijin sorry
>>23676039How do you get the ticket for the screening?
>>23676133It’s screening at toho cinema’s Ikebukuro. Go to their website and search for the movies and find gothicmade. I think they are only doing it through the 25th.
>>23676094>>23676095Is this a meme? There's mech fights in basically every chapter. My complaint with FSS would be that they do that thing where a new mech will enter the fight like two or three times in a row, so some fights wind up being more ENTER's than actual fighting. Still cool though.
>>23676206>There's mech fights in basically every chapter. If you consider an MH swinging its blade once before a fight ending, sure.
Tangentially, Airs Adventure, Nagano's first foray into video game character design got a English translation recently. It's a turbo kusoge in every aspect. But hey, Nagano fashion design. https://cdromance.org/sega_saturn_isos/airs-adventure-japan/
Welp I just watched it. There was literally only one mecha fight. It did seem a lot like a commercial for the manga because there was a lot of characters who got a cameo and then never did anything again, and also some plot threads left unfinished. AMA I guess
Also some old lady in the theatre was literally crying at the end LOL
>>23676709>there was a lot of characters who got a cameo and then never did anything again, and also some plot threads left unfinishedYup, it's FSS alright.
>>23676709Was it animated beautifully? Seriously, story doesn't have to make sense, but was it well made?Did you buy a program? How does it feel to be in a very exclusive club of people that have seen it?>>23676711She was coming to the realization that Nagano does everything on a whim, and that the Lachesis fighting in WWII arc was never going to be drawn or painted on celluloid.
>>23676709>there was a lot of characters who got a cameo and then never did anything againMauser and LDI were set up in Gothicmade to show up in FSS Vol 13-15. The other characters like Sieg, Christine, and Machi had already appeared in earlier volumes of FSS in prominent roles. This is what people mean when they say that you are totally unprepared for what you're getting into unless you read the manga.
>>23676732>Was it animated beautifully? Seriously, story doesn't have to make sense, but was it well made?Yeah it looked awesome. Animation quality was on par with a lot of high quality anime films you’ll see. Lots of panoramic shots showing the beautiful landscape in the background. The battle was also super cool to see the kaiserin just obliterate everyone.>Did you buy a program?Unfortunately I didn’t see one there. But in your picture I remember all those shots from the movie.>How does it feel to be in a very exclusive club of people that have seen it?It feels like I’ve completed my mecha pilgrimage. Like when you complete a rare achievement in a game. Although to me it really felt more like just seeing a cool animation rather than like a whole movie so I don’t think most people are missing out on much.

>>23676755What do gothicmades look like in motion? Mortarr Headds are supposed to move at the speed of light and other such DBZ-tier feats, but the original FSS movie shows them as pretty sluggish. Do the gothicmades move faster?
>>23676761Yeah, you can see a little bit of them in the various trailers.
>>23676709>and also some plot threads left unfinishedYeah that's FSS in a nutshell. Manga and movies. Nagano has no idea what to do with it, but he doesn't want to end it so he just meanders from sub-plot to sub-plot never truly finishing anything. It is his cash cow though, so why slaughter it?
>>23676039Nagano has staff pull gaijin from the growd and eject them at the screenings.
>>23676761In motion, you can really get a sense for the weight of the machines and how mechanical their movements are. There was really only one battle scene where you see them move and honestly for most of it they just stand there in one place and shoot out of their eyes. There was only one hand to hand combat between kaiserin and a blue armor? gtm. It’s a little of both between sluggish and DBZ tier feats. They go from 0 to 100 instantly from just standing there to moving at the speed of light. They move decisively in short explosive bursts. There isn’t a lot of back and forth in the battle once the kaeserin comes in, each strike is fatal. And just personal opinion but seeing them in motion makes me appreciate them more. Even though they move mechanically it seems to go well with the elegance of their designs.
>>23677034They have eye beams? But he specifically calls that out as stupid earlier in the manga!
Which arc does Gothicmade cover? Or is it an exclusive arc not in the manga? I remember getting pissed that Traffics stopped being translated right around when Christine was introduced.
