I don’t think it was just Hasbro that killed Sentia, but Hasbro did deal the killing blow. This is something that has been brewing for a long time now. Sentai has needed Power Rangers in order to compete with the money made by Kamen Rider despite Kamen Rider being almost entirely confined to Japan. A Sentai might underperform, but it’s adaptation might help mitigate or prevent it from being a complete loss.

They were thinking of killing Sentai with the failure of Fiveman, but then Jetman proved to be a success, and then Zyuranger was adapted for the first Power Rangers. Even then, there were rumors of cancellation around Carranger and led to Megaranger getting a new timeslot. So I think Sentai has been on shaky ground for a lot longer than people realize, Power Rangers stabilized it and it worked up until RPM, which Disney to bury and end the franchise. Saban bought it back, but took it to Nick which led to each series lasting two years. Suddenly, the synergy between Sentai and Power Rangers was gone, especially early on with Sentai demanding no team be skipped over. By Dino Charge, this proved to be workable, giving Power Rangers freedom to choose which teams they adapt. But this means that Bandai couldn’t use Power Rangers to bandage underperforming Sentai teams. Then Saban sells to Hasbro, cutting Bandai out entirely. Sentai tries to change things up over the last few years, like Lupinranger vs. Patranger having two teams in a single year, CGI members, different colors or how the Zenkaiger’s were robots rather than having tradition Sentai uniforms.LuPat was just an attempt to have the 50th anniversary on the actual anniversary if this was something they were considering back then.

Meanwhile, we now have them trying to build upon Rider’s success by making it more accessible internationally. Who knows, maybe in a few years Bandai will partner up with someone to begin adapting Rider again?
