This intro does suggest he's from a rich family, and that might be why they chose him, but the same scene also shows that he's a mama's boy attached to his parents, the later obviously never comes up later. And like I said, he also genuinely praises "Haman-sama" in internal monologue. Everything is clearly just off for they role they picked for him.
