Not at all, Zero isn't nearly as relatable as Kiriya and it's not like half the episode was a happy funny wacky holiday special that suddenly pivoted into character death.
>>
If ZERO is remotely controlled why is he constantly grunting in pain?

They should have showed Nox's capsule things being opened into his driver, having it just suddenly be opened was confusing.

This week's episode was pretty good, probably helped by the fact that it's more of a plot episode than a weekly 2-parter. Although I feel Minami isn't hesitant enough about Baku being caught up in this whole secret agent thing, I like that she's seemingly going to help out more with the cases from here on out, though she barely interacted with the cops so I can't really tell what her dynamic with them is going to be like. I liked the scene where Fujimi finally apologized to Baku fot acting like an asshole these last few episodes, though I don't think Baku really needed to apologize since everything he said about Nox was true.

The case itself seems pretty straightforward, though there could a twist or two like the Nightmare actually being the comedian's or him being The Lady's actual target. Speaking of The Lady, she's very obviously evil and crazy, and the fact that her faction's Rider Gear isn't safe to use either makes wonder why the fuck Nox is on her side, is he really that butthurt over the Agents being treated like pawns by CODE that he's willing to become the pawn of an even more evil faction just because they also want to eliminate CODE? Really hope his backstory makes sense in the long run. Also, with the way The Lady spoke about the Nightmare and the trap they laid for Zero, I wonder just how much control her faction has over the Nightmares' actions.

I can safely say that Nox Knight was complete disappointment, but at least KR Nox had a good debut, I hope it doesn't job too soon. The action in this episode was really good, better than usual, and I really liked that bike sequence (thanks, Minato).

I also liked the fact that Baku is being smart about all the CODE reveals and that he made a deal with Zero to learn about its secrets. The way Zero reacted really makes me think he's not evil, unless he backs out on the deal and sends the Lords after Baku.

>that crystal thing
more fuel to add to the 'theres no real ZERO' theory.

the mission LA SEÑORA asked NOX! was to retrieve him, and NOX! did that by retrieving the crystal. so yeah, ZERO is indeed the robot and there never was a human dude controlling it.
possiblyy the shadowy guy from Ep. 1 was just a dropped plotpoint/after thought. or a hologram to deceive Baku while CODE decides if he was fit to be an agent or not... same with the woman made of light that dragged Baku into the CODE HQ room.

I'm still not sold on Nem as a Heroine, and next episode seems like another repeat of Baku reaffirming his vow to find and save her after she gets in trouble because the dreamer was someone who cared about her. But with the teased plot reveals, the episode will probably be more than okay. Also, with the reveal that Baku was seemingly one of Nem's first fans, I wonder if he was groomed by CODE into having a strong attachment towards her, similarly to the theory that he was groomed into liking Secret Agent stuff to facilitate his recruitment into CODE.

Overall, a pretty solid start for Zeztz's Q2.
>>
>>23695828
Really cool bike fight, but the lack of dream powers is quite notable. Nox only using a shitty shadow sword and smoke is also worrying of the lack of creative powers they’ll use from now on. Not a big fan of the suit, but it’s not awful either.

they are still using dream effects, like Baku suddenly falling from nowhere at the beginning of the episode.

they obviously are gonna save the big dream manipulation stuff for important fights. there was no way for Toei to always use dream effects for every single ep.

Nox is rather awful, but I think it can work as they set it on the preview where both CODE and Nox are evil. CODE seems to want complete order at the cost of agents lives while Nox and Lady want pure chaos. And then Zeztz role is bringing balance to both before they bring the whole world down with their fighting.
>>
>>23696106
I would say a bike fight is a pretty big moment to use dream powers, especially since it doesn’t seem to happen next episode, and previous shows pattern mean we won’t get many like it.
>>
>>23696114
it makes sense, and yeah, what the nightmares have been doing can be considered 'chaos'. the problem here is them going way too far since how they said over and over again how the earth would be utterly destroyed had the meteor nightmare managed to crash.

if Every Villain Is Lemons (yeah, im calling them EVIL for the time being) plan is to let nightmares loose and cause chaos, then i have to ask: dont you assholes think that maybe, MAYBE, you NEED for a planet to exist to be able to cause said chaos?
>>
>>23696114
>And then Zeztz role is bringing balance to both before they bring the whole world down with their fighting.
Makes sense with the day and might duality of the OP. The problem is Nox thinking he's doing good by working for someone so obviously evil, and him being butthurt about people being treated like pawns only to join a faction that's clearly not treating him and civilians any better.
>>
>>23696124
The meteor thing is just gonna be one of those awful crimes Takahashi undermines like he does with every redeemed villain. That or they reveal “the whole world is a dream” and nobody who would have died would really be dead. But that could also be dumb as fuck and make everything pointless.
>>
>>23696132
Yeah that’s dumb
>I hate CODE disposing of agents so carelessly
>so I will work for someone who sees me as even more disposable and attacks innocents
It would make more sense if she was shown to be kind or even motherly to Nox, even if it was just an act.
>>
>>23696138
>The meteor thing is just gonna be one of those awful crimes Takahashi undermines like he does with every redeemed villain

i pray beyond any sort of hope that NOX! stays a villain until the end and if its needed for him to help in the last stretch of the story, at least he dies as a villain with no remorse for his actions.

Azuma/Buffa murdered half an entire city but thanks to the whole 'world remaking' thing it got undone. same with Nadge's tree, but the meteor definitely seems like something it just couldnt be undone, and NOX! definitely doesnt deserve forgiveness.
>>
>>23696144
I call bullshit for the Buffa situation as the arc involving it implied the Jyamato would be revived, not humans. But then they realized it would be too fucked up, so the episode afterwards just pretends all humans are revived off screen. We never actually see those people return, and those Jyamato revived disappear and are never mentioned again. It was a fix up, not an intentional writing choice.
So just like that, I can imagine Takahashi writing the rest of the story with no regard to a world ending meteor, or how exploiting the dreams of a kid to commit genocide is foul.
>>
so is the dream world zero a separate entity from the real world version?
half the convos he has with baku seem to be ignored/completely forgotten when the setting changes from dream to world and vice versa
>>
I guess Zero's acting by himself now and sends in the the hit squad?
>>
>>23696063
>The case itself seems pretty straightforward, though there could a twist or two like the Nightmare actually being the comedian's or him being The Lady's actual target.

Funny, I was so invested with Nox's plot I didn't even stop to consider it. Would be interesting.

>>23696138
>But that could also be dumb as fuck and make everything pointless.

I mean, the "dream within a dream" aspect was been teased since Takahashi spoke about his inspiration for the story. It's even referenced with The Lady's speech in her first appearance. Might as well make peace with it now.

>>23696165
That's actually a pretty good question. I always chalked it up to Baku not recalling every aspect of their dream convos, but I do hope there's some elaboration on it.
>>
Sex with Nem.
>>
>>23696156
>the episode afterwards just pretends all humans are revived off screen
It doesn't, Keiwa and Sara later discuss reviving those people if they win the Desire Royale. Those people are all dead and Michinaga is a willing literal mass murderer, but Keiwa never brings it up to him even when he absolutely should, like when Michinaga cockblocked him from winning the Desire Royale "for the greater good", or when Keiwa turns edgy and calls Michinaga a piece of shit for killing the people that turned into Jyamato.

What's worse is that they were implicitly revived when Keiwa got his wish from Tsumuri, but then some if not all of them died again when the DGP tricked Keiwa, and in the end Ace only uses his powers to restore Daichi's victims so that Keiwa can stop his temper tantrum and Daichi can have his forced redemption, but every other victim gets fucked.

I really liked the character interactions this episode, way more than usual like Baku making up with Fujimi and Minami helping Baku on his tailing mission, I guess I just like Minami more than Nem which makes the fact that her mini-series is shit due to it being written by a literalwho writer sting more.
I don't like how little time Nox Knight got to shine in the show overall, I guess the staff doesn't care because the other 3 agents are basically palette swaps but it's still the quickest transition from Rival to Rider I've seen. That said I like that Nox managed to maintain his erasure powers and that they're still finding new ways to use them, I also really liked the two fights in this episode. It's nice to see bike action again even though I can notice that they're using the same location as episode 2 and early Zero-One because of Japanese laws limiting where they can film, the staff did a good job making the action feel really different from the other bike fight so that one doesn't notice. I'm also glad that although Zero is dead Baku has kept his bike, hopefully Nox gets to summon Wolf's bike later on, I think Drive was the last time every Kamen Rider had their own rider machine, at least that is if you use that technicality where Toei for some reason doesn't treat Gold Drive as a Rider.

>>
>>23697733
Yeah, I don't really get the whole "CODE might be evil??" thing they were going for in the last few episodes.
You have Nox helping nightmares, warning Baku about CODE and Zero dodging questions/being cryptic. So you think maybe there's more to it, maybe what Nox is doing is for the greater good, but nah Noxhe's just a dick and Zero was just being a drama queen.
>>
>>23696138
Was Nox even actually responsible for the nightmare attacks? Considerung how he was getting attacked by one himself and they also existed while he was an agent? Maybe he was standing around earlier on because he needed to force Zeztz's growth to repair his gear but he isn't actually creating the nightmares, just following them. In that case, you can't really say he was trying to kill humanity during the meteor situation or something.
>>
>>23698459
NOX! released thousands of nightmare butterflies that infected people back in Ep.3.

He is definitely behind the attacks, At least to some degree. And again, if Baku didnt tried to stop the meteor, what would EVIL do? Just let the meteor kill everyone? Cuz so far thats the only possible thing they could do here...

I know I'm harping a lot on the whole meteor thing, but the problem is that we know NOX!, or rather Odaka, is gonna join the crew later down the road and be considered an hero, but in this case everyone, specially those in the show demographic, should be smart enough to know that yeah, he is not, he doesn't deserve it. And one would think Takahashi would have learned his lesson from the Buffa debacle. The only way his character arc could work is if he stays a villain until the end, or at least does some sacrifice, recognizing his mistake.

Did he release them or was he just standing there and saying cryptic stuff while the events happened? We see the purple energy and butterfly sound effects happening when Fujimi gets taken over by the nightmare. The shot with Nox is the first time we see all the butterflies, but they're visible before Nox actually does or says anything. It can really be closer to a natural phenomenon that he knew would happen after Fujimi was taken over rather than something he controls directly.

At the very least, nothing we've seen suggests Nox can actually control the nightmares like people thought at the start.
>>
>>23698757
As for what would he do if Zeztz's failed? He clearly considered himself above Zeztz there, even if he might have been wrong.
>>
>>23698757
>It can really be closer to a natural phenomenon that he knew would happen after Fujimi was taken over rather than something he controls directly.
That doesn't change a thing, Nox still wanted it to happen, that's why he intervened during Zeztz's first fight against the Bomb Nightmare.
>>
>>23698767
Yeah, because he was pushing for Zeztz growth to get his equipment repaired. My point is that he wasn't choosing the targets of the nightmares or controlling them directly, so it's not like he was specifically trying to blow up the planet with that one nightmare. He even stops the fight there rather than just trying to get in Zeztz's way to the end in the meteorite episode.
>>
>>23698804
Wrong thread.
>>
>>23698772
>Yeah, because he was pushing for Zeztz growth to get his equipment repaired.
Even if it was just for that (which it probably isn't, since we know The Lady keeps the escaped butterflies in her garden), that doesn't change the fact that he's actively letting the Nightmares run rampant and cause chaos in the real world. Him having no control over their actions makes him look just as bad or even worse than if he did, since that means he has no control over the destruction and casualties they may cause, the Bomb Nightmare blew up part of the police department thanks to his intervention. And let's not forget he goaded Nem's adoptive father into getting himself killed. And all that for Nox Knight? The form that accomplished nothing?

>so it's not like he was specifically trying to blow up the planet with that one nightmare
He still cockblocked Baku from stopping the previous two meteor strikes, and came to cockblock him from stopping the big one while being annoyed that he had still not given up yet. He was surprised that Baku actually had the powers to stop the meteor strike, and only relented because he gave up on convincing him to leave all the CODE stuff behind and just let him suffer the same fate he did, and it's not like he showed up to help Baku escape his endless nightmare world either.
>>
Was the nightmare supposed to be FAIZ?
>>
>>23698949
I doubt the Nightmares are actually based on past Riders, I feel like the staff would have already said so by now
>>
>>23698949
Yes, this one's Faiz.
