The only thing I didn't like about him is Tsutsumi randomly giving him the ring offscreen seemingly because Taiya's actor wasn't available, granted it will probably be aknowledged in the VS movie but that's still one of the sloppiest way to resolve a dropped plot point I've seen in Sentai.

So the Universe War wasn't actually fought with the previous Sentai? It's just an "incarnation" of their mechas? That's one way to resolve that plot I guess, kinda lame that the "titans" in Gozyu's World are just manifestations of the Original Sentais, and not that they actively gave up their powers like in Gokaiger.
Kind of weird that they disrupted the Origaranger plot near the end for these weird mary sue OCs that can just use the powers of other Sentai. Gokaiger did it better.

I get that Fire Candle's a dumbass, but there's really nothing saying the No Ones can't just live normal lives now. Obviously they can't go kidnapping people anymore, though. This left me wondering why we didn't ever see a No One that actually cooperated with its host.

Aside from Rikuo the characters have remained the same and they've stated several times how selfish they are, like yeah it's like Gokaiger where they're tsundere about it and they're actual heroes that care about protecting people but unlike that show the Gozyugers aren't a bunch of accomplished baddasess but rather a bunch of literal losers.You're that doing all of these plot points simultaneously doesn't bode well for the show but that has been Gozyuger's MO throughout the whole show sadly, I don't think this is necessarily Arakawa's fault though since I feel like something like this would have happened regardless of the writer. I still like the show weirdly enough despite half-assing all of its ideas, I guess it's because I like all of its ideas and while they've been done poorly I don't feel like they've been done as terrible for me to hate them but goddamn is this show a mess.

What you say also doesn't make sense because a Tsutsumi episode would naturally be a Hoeru focus episode meaning that Maya would be have been easy to edit out like they've done so far. Another reason why what you say can't be is that why would Maya be heavily featured on an episode focused on Origami Red trying to replace Hoeru.The only way what you said could have made sense is if for some god forsaken reason the Sumino VS Ribbon episode that got turned into a recap was somehow about Tsutsumi but that's extremely unlikely because again, why would a character with heavy ties to Hoeru and no ties with anyone else but Hoeru have an episode where most of his scenes are interacting with Sumino making it hard to edit out.
