He keeps on going about how Bellri must die for Manny's sake (whatever the FUCK that means) which manipulates Manny as well. There is nothing for him to be jealous here apart from the fact that Bellri has access to a good MS (which btw he has been handed PWOERFUL suits by the Army) and the only thing he justifiably can be jealous of Bellri is the fact Bellri was smart enough to skip grades and that's literally it

Seeing his former peer stumble into greatness with guts and luck while Mask himself has to discard his former identity and feel that he must carry the pride of his people while doing the dirty work of the capital army to achieve the same and repeatedly losing to Bellri creates a huge inferiority complex in him and gets Mask to call Bellri "someone that could be a dictator" because to him Bellri acts like he has a natural right to power while Mask has to grasp and claw for it.

Finishing 0079 after Zambot 3, it's clear to me that Tomino doesn't know how to end a show or handle a show for that matter. I don't even want to watch anything else he did after these 2 anime. The jealousy and petty behavior arises from the narrative that mask trapped himself in.
