I guess you guys know that the late Albert Penello's dream project came true today. Hia final project was to get that cancled Mighty Orbots toy made, which was a retool of the old god mars toy. He passed a few days ago from Cancer. The kick starter funded.

So, Mighty Orbots thread. Rest in peace Albert Penello.

>9500 goal

Well if they wanted it that badly I'm glad they got it but based on those pictures I think someone's getting screwed. Yes I know not everyone pledged that amount of money.

Cool that it managed to go through.
Orbots is a fun show.

Neat.

>orbots had enough cels for most of Japn's tv robot animation from 1980-1990
>toys have to scrounge the couch for drug muoney

>Albert Penello.
I have absolutely no idea who this is
>>
What's the highest quality rip of this show? I remember it having pretty good animation.

>God Mars with the stiffest super robot animation of the 80s gets the high articulation posable action figure
>Mighty Orbots and its the lavishly animated dynamic American budget gets the five point of articulation brick.

I dont know about rip, but the guy who bank rolled this, purchased the rights and put the entire show on youtube
>>

That's kind of crazy since I thought Warner Bros had the rights.
>>

The main reason Orbots never got a toy back in the day was because Tonka went full retard and tried to sue them because they thought "Mighty Orbots" was infringing on Gobots tagline of "Mighty Robots! Mighty Vehicles!"
>>
>>23704435
That was the reason? That’s fucking hilarious

neat
there seems to be an increase in nerds just buying old IPs, like that Robo Force/Biker Mice From Mars/ Moo Mesa / Great Garloo (!) / etc shared universe
I'd joked in the past about seeing how much Disney wants for Mister Boogity but now I'm wondering maybe that's a viable idea

Maybe he just purchased the toy and streaming rights.

But he put up an offical YouTube and the video is at least as good as the DVD set it appears.

I dont know what the guy was like. But buying a show and giving it away for free was pretty nice of him
>>

I assume he had some form of metal fever and is thus alright in my books.
>>
>>23704779

I imagine everyone that likes orbots did

This was designed to replicate the older 80s toys like Godaikin. He really wanted to replicate that Mattel prototype that went nowhere.

Ramen Toys was on a stream with the other KS creators. The question came up if they’d try to make a SOC modern version and the answer was no. He just wanted to focus on making this retro Prototype version. Someone else could jump in and do it but this is it for them.
