It's not the Union Group that's Anti Earth, it's the Group that's Anti the Earth Union (the Federation)

Anti Union Anti Anti Zeon Group
>>
>how do we get across that our group only takes issue with the Titans, and has no quarrel with the regular Earth Federation government? Our ideals of reform and change must be at the forefront, we can't look like some rebel group
>hmm... how about "Anti Earth United Government"?
>THAT'S BRILLIANT! THANKS CHAR

>has no quarrel with the regular Earth Federation government
But they do? The EF enabled the Titans in the first place. There's a whole episode where Char breaks into the EF just to condemn them on live TV.

>>23715673
You should’ve said EUREKA!
>>
>>23715673
Also the AEUG regularly took part in battles against EFF forces like Lila's unit in space, and the Act Zakus that attack the AEUG's stolen Audhumla after they left Jaburo

Earth-Union. Hyphens are important for more things than Spider-man.

AEUG should've been called "Olympians" since they opposed the titans.

Or rebrand to Anti Earth Federation Group

No it is anti-earth. It's literally the spacenoid branch of the Federation trying to take control of the Federation. Gryps was basically a civil war between the spacenoids and earthnoids of the Federation forces.

If you are going to be pedantic then you should know it's "Anti-Earth Union Group". The hyphen is between Anti and Earth.

We're they anti earthnoid elite group, and yes we are funded by the biggest arms dealer in the world. Yes, we do see nothing wrong with this.

I never fully understood what happened to AEUG after Zeta.

How is bright into the federation again in CCA?

Largely absorbed into the EF

ZZ shows the AEUG under Federation command. Bright takes orders from the Feds in ZZ.

>I never fully understood what happened to AEUG after Zeta.
>How is bright into the federation again in CCA?

All the major political leaders of the AEUG were killed or missing in action during the end of Zeta. The Titans killed most of them. People like Blex and Char were gone. These people were pushing for the Federation to change their ways and make laws that would welcome Spacenoids, and give them representation in the Federation Senate. The Federation promised to change their ways.

With their leaders dead, Leadership of the AEUG fell to Bright. And unfortunately Bright is not a political leader. He's a military man and hates politics. Bright only knows how to command troops and fight battles.

Bright was too much of a coward (or inept) to keep the AEUG fighting as rebel militia force. So Bright negotiated to have the AEUG join the Federation military as a "special unit" called Londo Bell under his command.

The Federation Politicians realized how crappy of a political leader Bright actually was and realized he was a total push over. That the Federation didn't need to uphold any of the promises they made to the AEUG (like making new laws that didn't discriminate against Spacenoids). So once Bright made the AEUG joined the Federation, all the politicians treated Londo Bell as a total joke. They underfunded them, and gave them harsh restrictions like only having 4 ships and no Gundams.

(Keep in mind the AEUG had like 4 dozen ships at their peak. Possibly more.)

Londo Bell had a leash and became a "controllable dog" of the Federation. Not like the wild wolf the AEUG was. This is is why the Federation President laughed at Bright (during Unicorn) when Bright threatened to rebel if they fired the Colony Laser. He knew Bright was bluffing.

It's always why Char was enraged at Bright during CCA. Because he saw how Bright ruined the AEUG. The AEUG was meant as a tool to change the Federation for the better. NOT join it. Bright killed the AEUG Dream.

Zeta Novels goes more into details about the shady parts of the AEUG and basically yeah they were useful idiots of Anaheim industries that were dropped like a ragged cloth the moments Titans were gone.
>>
>>23724545
You would think Anaheim would like to keep the Titans around. War is great for business. Just keep both sides weakened so neither side can decisively win. That way the war drags on.
>>
>>23724411
That's so funny, where was Char?
>>
>>23721576
That implies they're an Anti-Earth [beat] Union Group. You'd want Anti-Earth-Union Group.
>>
>>23724634
AE can try to prolong the war, but they can't ask Bask to not be a dumbass or order Bright to not kill the Titans. Neither of them would listen to AE. Besides, Axis\Neo Zeon is there to fill in for the missing Titans anyway.
>>
>>23724796
During Zeta Gundam, The Federation Titans represent Earth Dominance and Earth Supremacy over all Spacenoids. So yes, the AEUG were Anti-Earth because they were fighting the Titans.
>>
>>23724377
Split between Londo Bell and Char's Neo Zeon
>>
>>23725095
The Titans would have eliminated AE once they are done with AEUG. It's even in the name
>>
>>23725373
>once they are done with AEUG
they were like 4 times the size of the AEUG at the height of their power and pissed it all away on incompetence
>>

>they were like 4 times the size of the AEUG at the height of their power and pissed it all away on incompetence
The problem was that the Titans needed to spread their forces out to station and guard all their bases (Earth, Colonies, Solomon, Gate of Zedan, several smaller asteroids, etc). So the actual forces the Titans could mobilize to chase the AEUG all over space was about equal to the AEUG's total forces. Maybe slightly bigger than the AEUG but enough to decisively win.

Meanwhile the AEUG had no base to protect. They were a mobile force constantly on the move using guerilla tactics to attack the Titans. They never needed to defend a stationary base against Titans. It made the AEUG very hard to pin down.

Another issue is that the Titans couldn't recruit more troops easily. When they tried to recruit from the regularly military, the AEUG would send in spies and sympathizers to try and infiltrate and sabotage the Titans.

The Gryps War was basically like different branches of the US military fighting eachother. Imagine the US Army (Titans) fighting the US Marines (AEUG). And both sides using trying to ask other branches like US Air Force or US National Guard for help. But the other branches doesn't know which side to support. Some Airforce pilots want to help the army while others want to support the Marines. Total disaster.
>>
>>23725386
The Titans could not dedicate their entire force to hunting the AEUG. They had other responsibilities like investigation, being the military police, guarding important bases, and counter spy operations.

>>
Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard AEUG have a lot of guys from OYW Zeon remnants, is it true?
>>
>>23725531
In the anime there a few. It's implied to be a mix Former Federation and Spacenoids who hate the Titans.

If you include novels, Manga, and video games, then there's a lot more former Zeon joining the AEUG.
>>
>>23724384
It looks like they're taking orders from Anaheim though
>>
>>23725531
Yes, both Roberto and Apolly are from Axis.
