Movies are weird. It’s a freakish chimera of edits and cuts where for the first three films they take maybe one second from every single scene (with 1 having worse pacing for it, 2 being generally the same, and 3 having one new couple minute scene but losing multiple important ones) to pay for adding an hour to Film 4 that blows your dick off and makes it by far the best of the bunch and worth the project. Then 5 is a big nothing.
They also “clean up” dialogue to make it “easier to follow” but mostly that just means characters sound dumber and entire conversations can be altered because of information they may or may not now have thanks to the cuts and changes. While it’s more complete than the 0079 trilogy, I really can’t say it replaces the show at all. Except movie 4. Movie 4 fucking rules
