Do you build plamo of shows you like or do you watch shows because you like the kits?

I need to see the mobile suit doing cool shit first before I buy it, unless the design is cool enough (hi nu, schwarzette, etc)
>>
I go:
SRW > watch the show > buy the kit
>>
>>23736066
I buy most of my kits without even watching the shows. As long as I find it cool then I buy it.

Why are /v/ermin like this?

I watch the show and then maybe buy figures. The only model kits I buy are the Mobile Suit Ensemble ones cause they're simpler to build and take up less space than full size figures/kits while still looking nice.

This, I like the way the Ensemble figures look. The Converge figures are ass, whoever decided the entire fucking lineup of Converge needed a "hips forward, arched back" stance needs to be permanently made to wear a body brace that contorts their spine the same way

just buy them for the design, watching the show or not makes no difference

It almost seems like it's cooler to buy gunpla from stuff you haven't watched

I just buy stuff that looks cool.
Hexa Gear doesn't even have an anime that I know of, but they're badass.

I used to be the kind of guy that only bought kits from shows I liked and/or characters I liked. But then I realized that oftentimes it's not the MS's fault that the director and writer are incompetent, so those MS deserve some love too. And that's when I started buying Seed kits.

Both. But sometimes mecha being really cool in the fiction will make me want a kit I would otherwise probably skip (like the Dahack or n G-Reco).
On rare occasion a design I initially like becomes soured because of the context of the design In the fiction. For example I like Gundam Legilis' design but I subconsciously associate it with with the point in Gundam Age where it finally turns to shit. That and they just flat out don't use its freaky corefighter gimmick in the show, which I was really anticipating.

Cheaper therapy but with cool robits

Started buy building kits, figured I should see where the cool robot comes from, got hooked, now I watch every show even if I don't want the kits. I still buy too many kits

I used to like the Turn A, even bought the New Material toy way back when and also got the Master Grade on release, but when I finally managed to watch it when it was available on Youtube it was such boring dogshit show I put away all my Turn A merch and never want to look at them again.
