some temp worker guy from Minnesota? good fucking luck with that loland don't even get me started on Tom Servo's new voice, I got a banner printinghttps://preservetube.com/watch?v=et8yvu8Q-rQ
I always wondered how they eat and breath.
>>23736610or other science facts
>>23736620>>23736610Somebody didn't repeat to themselves "its just a show, I should really just relax"
>>23736693FOR MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER THREE THOUSAND *Guitar riff*
>>23736610I was never confused by this, obvious it's all from the Umbilicus.
>>23736890iirc one of the S1 eps Joel requests you get a snack during the break that is delicious and nutritious because he'll be eating vicariously through youalso various stores of food and food-like substances are mentioned repeatedly
>>23736890they didn't get that until later on
>>23736595Good test.
Would you rather be able to control where the movies begin or end, or be around your robot friends?
>>23736890The Umbilicus wasn't installed until Season 6.
>>23741797Easy, they had food and oxygen stores until then. The Umbilicus resupplied them. Then they nanities helped grow an ecosystem, then Brain Guy gave them food.
I never got why they even kept going with the IP with so much of the original cast going off to do the same thing on their own.
>>23745003You know none of the original cast were still there by season 8, rightBecause they still had good shit to make, you dumbass
>>23745003iirc it wasn't so much like Netflix just woke up one day and said "hrm, let's make a really shitty season or two of MST3k with some schmucks" a big part of the Rifftrax/Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic origins were MST Producer Jim Mallon was sitting on his chunk of the MST rights and being a dick about everything while making crap like "The Bots Are Back!", like I recall a legend he squashed Film Crew, telling Rhino they could pick selling MST or Film Crew, then Film Crew getting canned eventually led to RiffTraxeventually something horrible happened to Mallon like a daughter died/paralyzed so he rethought the whole "being a dick producer" thing and sold his chuck of the rights to Joelthen Joel dropped CT basically immediately and started work on the heavily flawed reboot, and in the process missed the "do the show week after week for three years straight" part of getting the show firing on all cylinders originally
>>23745090But at least we got some celebrities to embarrass themselves for scale.
>>23745090It's such a shame too, because the actual movie riffing in the netflix series is just as good as ever, but nearly EVERYTHING ELSE is either soulless or just plain bad.Legitimately the only good non-riff parts are two skit songs.
>>23736595Is it bad that I have no idea what this is about?
>>23745154Joel was also kind of weird about how he approached the movies. Like they got ATOR: THE FIGHTING EAGLE yet forbid the writers from doing even a single incest joke and overhyped the lamest movies as being the next Manos.
>>23745154Yeah, Yongary in particular stands out as one of the strongest episodes ever. The stretch of jokes until the monster actually appears is nothing but bangers, and while the latter half isn’t as strong, it’s still got some great riffs.
>>23745154yeah I thought the Jonah crew had potential if they had stuck with the weekly production style>>23745164>they got ATOR: THE FIGHTING EAGLE yet forbid the writers from doing even a single incest jokewhat in the literal shitI get that the RT sorta beat that into the ground (gasp) but it's really odd to do a movie where the lead wants to marry his (adopted) sister and not do a single joke
>>23745162You don't know MST3K?Mad scientists force a guy and two robots to watch bad movies, which they crack jokes at throughout. Interspersed are skits that usually related to the movie they're watching. Sometimes they watch old shorts beforehand if the movie is too short.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SEKyjMxlKQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa42pxJyq64
