Sex with Kureha
>it took nearly half the series for shit to start happening Zeztz may not be the worst Reiwa Rider, but it is the most boring.
>>23744639Second worst is still poopy
>>23744639started watching yesterday and holy fuck are the episodes boring, watching the episode with the two people who subconsciously want to be Nem's parents right now and it's boring the fucking hole off me
CODE cheapens out
>>23744646Pilot pens are high quality though!
Please don't kill Kureha, Takahashi...
>>23744648>even kids don't give a shit about ZeztzThis is what happens when you appeal to westoids
This is Zeztz's first Q2 upgrade, Catastorm. Say anything about this form.
>>23744652Can't say much without seeing it in action, I quite like the design and I like that isn't like Zeztz's previous forms which retain the same silhouette or change very little like with the add onsHowever just like every suit in Zeztz it's still too abstract to discern a motif making it not as memorable as previous shows despite being competently made
>>23744570You know we're getting CrossHopper and TenLiner as a set, right? What I'm scared about is that CrossHopper could have extending limbs that can bend in really tiny hinges.
>>23744661Can't wait for Nox to get his ass kicked AGAIN.
>>23744639It almost feels like it's written by a different person from the guy who wrote Ex-Aid. Ex-Aid moved at a fucking crazy high speed with a a bunch of likeable characters, this is just so slow and boring. Rider had been a monster of the fortnite franchise from Den-O to Wizard there's no reason why they can't do that here. >>23744648>>23744651Beyblade gaining momentum is so bizarre. Though I don't blame the kid for getting over Rider at this point. >>23744652Its still so boring. I like that they got rid of the mouth gradient but it's still so nothing. It almost feels like a callback to Maximum Mighty X for being a big buff guy but it's nowhere near as charming.
>>23744666>666Damn, even Satan wants to see Nox get his ass kicked.
https://twitter.com/GaidenKarun/status/2020172187282600373Episode 19 preview.
>>23744667>Its still so boringIt's impossible to tell what they're even going for, he's built like a brick shithouse in this form and that's it. It's so bad.
>>23744667>BeybladeIt is kind of crazy because Beyblade has been around for over 20 years but it's only been recently that it feels like it's gained actual pop culture traction. I was the right age (I know) when it first started and it never really moved out of that niche corner probably because Pokemon was still huge and anything even remotely similar was seen as a ripoff.
Newfag to Kamen Rider and Toku in general reporting in. I've finished Geats and Gavv and decided to start Faiz as my third and man this early 2000s J-Drama story is way more compelling. Episode 8 with Faiz and the Horse orphenach fighting with the guitar in the background was peak. I really enjoyed the two shows I've seen so far but going from those to this and season 1 of Garo ,is jarring to see how much has changed.

>>23744681Cute and funny

>>23744681silly little things :)
>>23744674Gonna be honest, beyblade toys is getting traction because Takara Tomy combines the best aspect of previous 2 series + adding new gimmicks that somehow don't get stale after 4 years. Also nobody really cares about the anime, except the western.
>>23744693mommy world ender
>>23744675Reminds me, could this be the reason why they failed to stop the Desaster Nightmare this time?

>>23744667>>23744674>>23744692Takara did invest itself into making it into some sort of global e-sport, and I am surprised that they actually took it seriously. I wouldn't be too surprised that it ended up reaching yu-gi-oh level of competitiveness, if it's not at that point already.Beside, bayblade is already a fun toy with meta few generation ago to begin with.

>Let's use those kids childhood trauma's to create a powerful Nightmare> It's Ok, they would have grown to CODE agents anyway
>>23744684>his body's an amalgamation of the disasters those kids went throughNeat.
>>23744693Maybe Baku should let them fuse the world with the dream world..... Maybe code really is bad....
>>23744646What if it was designed to look like that to fool Nox?
>>23744667>with a a bunch of likeable charactersNo, just one likeable character and the rest are just assholes.
>Zeztz, Nox: Eyes unobstructed, independent agents with little or no loyalty to CODE>Nox Knight, Lord 5 & 6: Colored eyes obstructed by the crown, normal CODE agents with enough loyalty to the org>Lord 3: Blackened eyes obstructed by the crown, completely loyal servant of CODE
Such a shame Kureha is dying. Baku has absolutely no one useful in his corner right now.
>>23744650This show is seriously lacking in deaths, 21 episodes in and there are no confirmed civilian nor named character deaths, someone has to die.
>>23744790It wouldn't matter. This is a Takahashi show. Deaths don't stick
https://twitter.com/KamenRiderStore/status/2018852212190163037
>>23744677As someone who recently finished Faiz and loves the shit out of Kuuga, Agito and Blade, do it. It's a great show that left me miffed I didn't watch sooner. I'm also going to rewatch all of Ryuki because I remember hating it and I don't want to because it has great suits and characters (I also never watched the 13 Rider special so it's a good excuse).
>>23744884Reminds me of my plastic sword play fights as a kid.
>>23744720>10 episodes later>lol sorry for being the fucking devil, but now there's an even bigger asshole that just got introduced, guess we have to set our differences aside and pretend the first half of the show didn't happen, right?

>Zeztz is boring!!!!/krg/ once again cannot into police procedurals.
>>23745057Yes even though people enjoy seasons like W, Kuuga, Drive, surely it's the structure of Zeztz that is making it have such a lukewarm reception and not its actual content.
>>23745075ADHD Sea detected.
>>23745057>>23745097>!!!!>SeaGoddamn ESLs
>>23744650There is likely a reset button of some sort coming so I doubt she stays dead. Like, have they ever shown a character's death on the preview and made it stick? Maybe the people speculating that the waking world isn't real either will be right. That'd probably justify Nox too because it'd turn out he wasn't actually killing people.
>>23745057Kuuga and Drive were police procedurals, Zeztz is just a bunch of dull monster of the week 2-parters.
>>23745147>In the CODE system, the dreamers are represented by two separate, and unequally important, groups: the police, who futilely investigate black cases; and the agents, who do everythin. These are their stories.
>>23745145>have they ever shown a character's death on the preview and made it stick?Chase's and Tassel's.
>>23745145Even if Kureha did die for real, Nox already made the perfect excuse to put the blame on her and CODE instead of himself when he claimed Kureha didn't deserve to get killed unless she was willingly working for CODE, Three reminded her of the risks and she still decided to come back willingly.
I wanted to see a Buff girl in a Kamen rider tight bodysuit since the serie started, i feel so good right now, lord six has such a cute butt

>>23744741NOX! was already a retard.>Somehow, the bullet Rita shot 2 weeks ago put that tracker onto NOX!.>even tho the events of this story occur in around 2-3 days, NOX! NEVER checked the obvious glowing pencapim sure you could give him the tracker in his hand, write on the thing 'THIS IS A TRACKER' in red letters, and STILL NOX! wont be able to put 2 and 2 together.
>>23745277That's kind of what the beginning of the original series was trying to do too, so once in a while you see new staff attempting to go in that direction, although generally it fades out pretty quickly, like the first few episodes of Black. The first few Heisei series was probably when they kept that kind of atmosphere the longest, but even by Ryuki things were much "cleaner" already in spite of all the deaths.
>>23744915yeah, this is gonna be frustrating as all hell, and i still on the 'Dirty Dan and Azuma are less evil than him' hill..Dirty Dan wanted eternal life for everyone and the ultimate game. Azuma was just a retarded thug who never knew better. NOX! has no qualms with complete and total genocide. and is well aware he IS commiting complete and total genocide despite the fact that, well... you still need a planet to exist or else your goal is pointless!

God I hate that they have this faggot every single episode come in like "haha, but wait rider I'm going to stop you from saving kids being murdered!!!" And then just fucking loses anyways and just goes "grrr until next time rider!!" It just makes the episodes drag on for no reason
>>23745387It feels like they're just shoehorning him in for plot's sake.>This Nightmare will wipe out all of humanity if it succeeds>BETTER MAKE SURE CODE DOESN'T STOP IT
>>23745382Excuse you, ADHD AMERICAN.
>>23745393Agreed and show writers have basically said as much that they didn't want the early half of the show to not have a definite antagonist but it's so obvious he's going to end up becoming the secondary so when he does his little schtick of trying to stop Baku and failing and running away it makes it feel so pointless and meandering I think they were afraid of it being too slow and noir esque but I would have preferred that to NOX popping up like an mid roll ad just to take away from the plot and not really add anything to the stakes whatsoever
>>23745401Well stop it. Shut up and enjoy things.
Also it's painfully obvious that NOX is brainwashed by the lady, in the same way she tried to brainwash Baku and failed Putting all my chips on something like Baku is innocent and only wants to save people and that's why he couldn't be manipulated but NOX was filled with his hatred and spite for CODE and that's why he was able to get brainwashed by her abilitiesAnd when Baku defeats the lady he will be freed of his brainwashing and realize his mistakes and join Baku as the secondary

>>23745403I was going to say this was a rare instance of good choreography in Zeztz, but then I noticed this was generated by A.I.
Hayo~! Any updates of Chart Anon yet?
>>23745416NOX is well aware of LA SEÑORAs powers. he is not brainwashed.no matter how you slice it, he IS 100% ok with the things he is doing. and it doesnt make sense at all. the fact that they are gonna ignore all his crimes, specially the meteor thing, wanting to kill Rita to 'avenge' her, and what just happened with the kids just makes him becoming a hero more frustrating.i really would love for him to NEVER become an ally in any way, but he is gonna do it sooner or later. and no, him just going 'we are sharing a common enemy, but i still hate you and CODE' doesnt count, that is still becoming a hero. and it is still disgusting.
Inazuma Booster might as well be a one-off movie or direct-to-video special form at this point.
>>23745527Why, it already happened.
>>23745527If they still did Winter Movie it would have been.
>>23745546Honestly, I really wish we got a Zeztz and Gavv winter movie. I miss them.
>>23745416No he's definitely not brainwashed, their goals just align and he's very conscious of his actions. You can tell he's not brainwashed too considering his attitude towards The Lady being conserving and even confused himself about what she's talking about sometimes. He also shows disgust with the way The Lady talks about killing Baku and he's shown some level of concern for Baku and Kureha from the transformation special. Even from what we see if The Lady, she kinda just eggs him on because she doesn't really need to push him to do anything so far since their interests align. But if she was brainwashing him, she wouldn't have been annoyed with Nox destroying Zero or leaving Baku alive.
>>23745454zeztz in general feels like it was generated by AI lmaoalso unrelated but seeing so many main riders using swords and now guns over the past few years makes me want a main rider who fights with their bare hands again. I get the need for a weapon toy so something like the Meteor Galaxy would be cool.

https://x.com/i/status/2021127392518189096A fan idea for Hikawa's own Agito. As for me, I won't expect a new form.>>23745057You fucking know there's wanton hate against everything Reiwa, of course they'll complain about literally every season and how Zi-O killed the franchise. It's becoming tiresome.
>>23745828The issue is the one on the left is a physical PNG and the one on the right is a clanker. Maybe it's best not to touch the one on the left.
>>23745627The only one of these guys I can't hate is Hiiro. He's kinda boring but he gets the job done.Fuwa's entire character throughout the series makes no sense.Keiwa doesn't even feel like the 4th most important character in the show let alone a secondary rider. Nox has no likeable characteristics. He's not even like a hilariously terrible person like Kusaka.
>>23745831>hikawa agitofuck off that's lame
>>23745246Wdym?
>>23745845They're literally pulling off what Decade did with Agito, but with Hikawa as the MC. And like you, I hate that idea.
>>23745608I mean he really has to be, otherwise like you said him turning hero would probably just undermine everything The only logical plot move would have to be that he's under control or doing these things for reasons out of his control otherwise he's just a psychopath and making him a hero would make zero fucking sense even less than in Fourze where Gentaro forgives RyuseiI just can't imagine they would write such a dumb fucking plotline like that

>OG writer>OG director (didn't direct all the eps but directed some of the best)>OG producer>OG composerThis can't possibly fail in any way, right? Lack of Ashihara kind of blows, but still.
>>23746782The 555 movie had all of that and while fun that movie was a messThe biggest difference this Agito movie has over previous anniversary movies is that it has more budget, a longer runtime and the producer of W/Fourze helping on top of the original producer
>>23746794True, 555 20th was fun but flawed in a bunch of different ways. I do like how it gave Takumi the happy ending he deserved but it still left me unsatisfied. I wish we saw more OG actors, too (rip Izumi).Agito's feels a lot more promising. Also Jun Kaname is a HUGE actor so no wonder they're making him the primary focus of the movie. I'd eager they wouldn't want to fuck that up.>and the producer of W/Fourze helping on top of the original producerNo shit? That sounds even more promising.
>>23746782Producer Shirakura, head writer Inoue and director Tasaki are sort of an "anything goes" trio, I like every show the trio headed together (Agito, 555, Donbrothers) but they're still inconsistent and the 555 anniversary was... weird to say the leastYou ultimately never know what to expect with this team
The original director of Kabuto has been hinting since april that we're getting a Kabuto movie, but with Kabuto's producer handling the Agito movie I wonder if they'll leave the movie to another producer? At least Kabuto's head director is awesome and for better or for worse they should be able to get Kabuto's original writer easily.
>>23746815Shirakura and Takebe will probably multi-task and work on both Kabuto and Agito, while Tsukada only helps with Agito to have enough manpower to do both. Unless Kabuto's anniversary is a TTFC project rather than a proper feature length movie, if so they'll probably pass it off to Takijima, the newbie who handled the Kakuranger anniversary film.
>>23746782>>23746794Inoue can't write serious stories well anymore, Donbrothers worked because it was a comedy that didn't take itself seriously.
>>23746815>At least Kabuto's head director is awesomeEven now?
>>23746883He did the epic duel between Saber and Slash and Live and Evil, so I'd say he still got itShane that his direction cannot save the scripts of Revice
Huh, I expected him to last longer than this. Also what's up with Yuka's Orphnoch form? It's so different from the one in the show.
>>23746989>Also what's up with Yuka's Orphnoch form? It's so different from the one in the showThey gave Yuka, Kiba and Takumi new Orphnoch forms for the movie. Kiba's was later used in the show's endgame.
>>23747008I recognized Kiba's from the finale, wondering what Takumi's new form is. And they left out Kaido again?
I never expected them to die this way, that's kinda hardcore.
>>23746917The way they did Evil's broken helmet here was probably the only actually creative thing Revice ever did.
>>23744677I don’t want to dunk on Zoomers who glaze ex aid because it’s literally not made for me but yeah, the early stuff is miles better. The direction isn’t ADD, the characters are soap opera stereotypes instead of anime stereotypes, and the plot structure isn’t forcibly derailed by form changes every second episode.
>>23745627There hasn’t been a worthwhile second since Birth in ooo.
Amazing, been a long time since I watched a Kamen Rider movie especially the first Heisei ones that usually took place in alternate continuities. It does so many similar things to the Ryuki movie, mostly introducing ideas that later came up in the show itself. I'm still puzzled as to why Blaster took so long to show up after this movie released. Now all that remains is Paradise Regained before I can close Faiz for good.

Oronamin C commercial will redeem Nox.
>>23744666I don't understand the decisions they made with Zeztz. They make a whole suit for Nox as a rival only for it to be used like 2-3 times before becoming a Rider with no fanfare and still be a villain for half the show. But Five and Six who are allies that transform exactly like the Riders but aren't called Kamen Riders. Then the descriptions for the tertiary make it look like a straight forward villain, but is a Kamen Rider. It's genuinely so fucking stupid.
>>23747220It would be kinda funny if Nox is still an enemy and the tertiary is also an enemy by the time the Oronamin C commercial comes out
>>23747189This. Mach and Cross-Z dab on them.
>>23747222Becoming Riders in Zeztz mean they can operate somewhat independently from CODE and has their eyes wide open in transformed state. The Lords still have the crown obstructing their vision, so no Rider.
>>23747226No shot. Haven’t seen build but Mach is 2 separate characters as the plot demands. Hes fun as the happy go lucky guy when the show is shit but as soon as it actually has a plot he’s an uninteresting moody prick to the end credits. Date, Gotou and more importantly their dynamic are scene stealers from start to finish
>>23745220I dunno why but asían girls now have better cake than white and latina girls
>>23747237>Becoming Riders in Zeztz mean they can operate somewhat independently from CODENox transformed into Nox Knight even after he betrayed CODE.
>>23747020>And they left out Kaido again?I don't know if it was mentioned before but Kaido never have new form because his Orphnoch self awakened by another Orphnoch killing, while Kiba, Yuka and Takumi are awakened by natural deaths.Ironically he's the only one between the trio who survived in the main timeline.
Another hiatus for Rider is something Toei is 100% planning for. The question is if Rider will last until it's 60th
>>23747359Unless Rider suddenly starts doing Sentai numbers, it's not going to get cancelled anytime soon.
>>23747359Kamen Rider is still making 20 billion+ yen each year, I don't think it's going on hiatus anytime soon.
>>23747171>I'm still puzzled as to why Blaster took so long to show up after this movie released.Inoue doesn't give a fuck about toy shilling.
>>23746879That's fine, because Agito was part comedy to begin with.
>>23747363I was never much of a Sentai watcher, what exactly happened with super Sentai did it lose viewership for any reason and how bad was it really doing? In America I see more Sentai fans (not including power rangers) than Kamen rider fans just out in the wild on the internet. I figured if anything super Sentai would outlast Kamen
>>23747432my gamers!
>>23747432Gamers (slur) rise up
>>23747433Its viewership/SNS talk was fine it's just that no one buys the toys as much as they do KR's toys because they aren't as fun to play with/collect.
Why is the opening song for kamen rider black RX such a banger
Finally got around to watching gavv I skipped it because people said it was trash This show was so fucking fun, and weirdly better writing than most of the reiwa era shows so far why was gavv so slept on?
>>23747440Don't believe any hyperbolic hater of any season in /krg/. Gavv is a quality season that kinda gets a bit wonky around the Bitter Gavv arc.

>>23747440My personal Reiwa favorite is Saber but I'll put Gavv at a close second. >>23747660They did, retarded shitposter.
>>23747593I think the most controversial and obvious idea would be trying a female red or not having a red at all, either way the purpose would be to create a female focused Sentai because lets be real here, Kamen Rider is already in the small niche of toku and it's basically the perfect boys franchise, Sentai can only cannibalize from KR and KR can only cannibalize from Sentai.I'm not saying wokeify Sentai because a sentai that focuses primarily on the girls or would exclusively be cute girls would also maybe appeal to the weebs that loved sailor moon/pretty cure so I think it'd be worth trying.
>>23747663Are you the femaleRedfag from /red/? Anyways, PreCure is already there as the designated girl roleplay franchise, so if Sentai swung the other way it would just be competing against it.
>>23747672idk who that is and so? They're already competing with themselves and instead of toku competeing with toku it's toku competing with animation.
>>23747674>They're already competing with themselves and instead of toku competeing with toku it's toku competing with animation. What a retarded way of thinking, it doesn't matter if it's Toku or not, PreCure is also a Toei & Bandai franchise and it airs right before Rider and Sentai. PreCure has more of a legacy than any female-driven Toku ever made, girls don't really care if it's an Anime instead of Toku, in fact Toku is seen as more of a male hobby in Japan because not as many girls are into it.PreCure is already the female equivalent of Rider, so Sentai would just be competing against it and its toyline instead of automatically becoming girls' favorite roleplay franchise. And girls will naturally pick PreCure's cute girly toys over Sentai's cool masculine robots, sword and guns.
>>23747663Not having a red at all is infinitely less likely than having a female red. It'll never happen.
>>23747685The creation process completely changes everything, anime can't replicate physicality while the physical side can try but not really get it right most of the time. That's already a massive difference because franchises try time and time again to make pikachu or goku show up somewhere 'real' but they cna't ever make it look right.Sentai airing next to rider is an already established part of the problem, legacy doesn't matter because Sentai isn't 'gone' but is basically gone now.Sentai was always the girlier side of toku, girls have been an established part of sentai since the beginning to where if there were no girls at all it would be a gimmick in the opposite direction or a one-off like sun vulcan.
>>23747663An anon from the previous thread or so had the idea that Toei should've made a season that combined both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai together but not Gorider style, basically have the next Kamen Rider and the next Super Sentai team after being baton passed from the previous Sentai be placed in the same show from start to finish. And honestly I'm somewhat surprised they never thought about it, a chance to have both toylines merged into one for that year alone preventing cannibalizing and competition and there wouldn't be that many Riders since the Super Sentai would fill in those extra slots. The only thing I can see stopping them from doing that is budget since Kamen Rider's have a lot of form changes so suit budget will be stretched hard.
>>23747694>The creation process completely changes everything, anime can't replicate physicality while the physical side can try but not really get it right most of the timeI already told you that PreCure is more popular than any girl-driven Toku ever made, that includes a rival copycat live-action franchise that only lasted a few shows before getting canned.Girls don't care about that sort of stuff nearly as much as you think.>Sentai airing next to rider is an already established part of the problemIt also airs next to Precure, so switching the focus to a female audience wouldn't change a damn thing.>Sentai was always the girlier side of toku, girls have been an established part of sentai since the beginning to where if there were no girls at all it would be a gimmick in the opposite direction or a one-off like sun vulcan. If you've ever watched any Sentai ever, you would know it is clearly more male-driven, it just has more female representation than Rider, but females have never been the main focus of any Sentai show. The kind of toys Sentai has appeal more to boys, which is why it's officially categorized as a boys franchise.
>>23747662dude, we got 2 rider coming 3 and 3 pseudo riders for the current show. geats wasn't long ago either.
>>23747696And what? Would they air an hour-long or two back-to-back episodes of the same show every week? I think kids would get tired of that really fast, even if they cut the episode count in half. And I don't think it would necessarily make them more money than Rider and Sentai already do separately, and it would fuck with the show's pacing since now they'd have to introduce multiple toys per episode and back to back instead of them being spaced out.Toei also benefits a little more from Sentai and Project R.E.D. than they do from Rider because Rider is co-owned by Ishimori Productions, so combining the two would just mean Toei has to give a cut to Ishimori Pro for the entirety of the Toku they're producing every year.
>>23747707They reduced the amount of Riders drastically after Geats, now you only get 3 recurring ones, 1 evil Rider that shows up once in a while, and 1 or 2 Riders that only appear once or twice in the whole show.
>>23747708Nah, not back to back. Just a standard single episode per week and occupying Kamen Rider's slot. So pacing would be relatively the same. Of course the question would lead to what show would then occupy the Sentai slot to which I say I don't know, maybe some other anime or something.Though in saying that, Project RED is coming out next week so theoretically you could have a Kamen Rider + Super Sentai show in the Kamen Rider slot and then Project RED afterwards.>inb4 why not just put Super Sentai alongside Project RED since that is somewhat the intention of Project REDI agree, but experimentation is experimentation.
>>23747703You wouldn't really be copying precure or whatever that is or other failed toku that try to target girls would do. It would really just be a normal sentai except more girl focused.I'm pretty sure the problem is the slots that are directly next to each other, isn't it precure then kr then sentai?Sentai is male-driven in a way that Kamen Rider definately isn't. Sentai essentially started with a more progressive premise from kamen rider through characters like Peggy in Goranger and Karen in JAKQ both being competent members of their teams instead of largely being sidelined like Ruriko or the rider girls. I'm saying sentai appealing to boys might be part of the problem because you're competing with another show that is much better at appealing to boys which is why I think it failed. Kamen Rider basically appeals to anything a boy could already be or want to be and Sentai just doesn't as much. the sixth ranger is cool but the anti hero rider is way cooler, the red lead is cool but the main lead in KR is way cooler, it's a losing game of playing catchup.
>>23747723>It would really just be a normal sentai except more girl focused. So you're asking for a Sentai that would do even worse than before. It makes no fucking sense to make a franchise that targets girls that is basically just a franchise that targets boys but with a female protag instead.PreCure is successful with girls because it leans very hard into their tastes. You think girls are going to prefer a Sentai that's basically the same but with a female lead? Sentai's toys appeal more to boys because they consist of cool masculine stuff like robots and swords. You would have to make the toyline more like PreCure's for it to appeal to girls more, but then Sentai would basically be competing against PreCure instead of Rider now, it'd still be competing against another big franchise from the same companies either way.>isn't it precure then kr then sentai?Yes, but what about it? Just because Precure ends half an hour before Sentai starts doesn't mean girls will suddenly forget all about it once Sentai starts airing.>Sentai is male-driven in a way that Kamen Rider definately isn't. Sentai essentially started with a more progressive premise from kamen rider through characters like Peggy in Goranger and Karen in JAKQ both being competent members of their teams None of those girls are the main focus of their shows. Sentai does throw girls a bone more than Rider does, but girls still have never been the main focus of Sentai.>Kamen Rider basically appeals to anything a boy could already be or want to beAnd PreCure appeals to anything a girl could already be or wants to be. Sentai wouldn't fill that niche because PreCure already does. And being live action instead of anime isn't going to be a selling point because girls don't care about that stuff nearly as much you think they do.
>>23747440You aren't fooling anyone ghostfag.
>>23747742I think it does because what makes sentai function are things that girls actually like more than boys.Girls do like cooperation, relationships, community, teamwork and belonging and boys like being, taking center stage or deciding.Think about the difference between sailor moon and Naruto. Naruto's goal in every episode is to make something of himself, it isn't about his team mostly even though he is part of a team the focus is largely on him or Sasuke, the typical conflict is if Naruto can beat Sasuke or does Sasuke get the upper hand yet again and how will Naruto go from a loser to hokage. Now think of Sailor Moon, she starts her day, goes to school, hangs out with her friends, a boy is involved, usually Mamoru, then a monster appears, they beat it the end. The difference between each sailor moon episode will place emphasis on each member of the team. All the girls are neccesary because they're an important part of this communal bond.>Yes, but what about it? Just because Precure ends half an hour before Sentai starts doesn't mean girls will suddenly forget all about it once Sentai starts airing.Sentai already lost their boy demograhpic by virtue of targeting boys and failing so all it would do was create a bridge where families with girls would maybe watch KR too.I think real stuff has an appeal that animation doesn't.
>>23747760>I think it does because what makes sentai function are things that girls actually like more than boys.>Girls do like cooperation, relationships, community, teamwork and belonging and boys like being>The difference between each sailor moon episode will place emphasis on each member of the team. All the girls are neccesary because they're an important part of this communal bond.Have you ever watched PreCure? It's basically what you just described. It's essentially an all-female Sentai, but with aesthetics and toys that actually appeal to girls.>Sentai already lost their boy demograhpic by virtue of targeting boysWell it's not going to win over the girl demographic by being exactly the same as when it targeted boys but with a female protagonist instead. And it's just going to be competing with PreCure instead.>all it would do was create a bridge where families with girls would maybe watch KR tooFamilies already watch Kamen Rider, Rider already has things that appeal to adult females and males. A show aimed at little girls isn't going to get more people interested in the franchise that is already popular.>I think real stuff has an appeal that animation doesn'tYou think, but girls don't. They already made a show that was basically live action Precure and it wasn't nearly as successful as the real deal. Live action doesn't have have that kind of appeal to girls.
>>23747770I just know precure is a super powered girls show, but basically it makes sense if it took inspiration from sailor moon.Actually, I think the male protagonist and focus on the male lead actually does give the impression it's only for boys. I think more women would like sentai if they actually gave it a chance and by having a female lead or a female lead and more female characters they likely would. The competition is fine because there's the real aspect of it that changes it enough. Stuff like being able to meet the actors as they appeared in the show (not just voice actors) and seeing the suits in person, the merchandise being real tangible things in the show is pretty huge.
>>23747440It isn't slept on, there's a Geatsfag here who spams pretending that Gavv dropped off anywhere as hard as that show did. Q1 itself is the best Rider content we've gotten in the last decade.Wrong on both accounts.
>>23747798>>23747774Also, one big element you seem to be overlooking is how Bandai treats PreCure. I really get the impression that after the first few seasons, Bandai doesn't care about the idea of PreCure being an action show for girls at all. Toy commercials even for weapons never actually show any action/special attack footage, unlike Toei's trailers for the shows and movies. So, yeah, I don't think Bandai would see any future into making something like Sentai chase a female audience, since they don't seem to believe action is a selling point for them at all.
>>23747810>Bandai doesn't care about the idea of PreCure being an action show for girls at allBecause girls don't really care about action, they care more about the characters and their relationships.
>>23747810It makes sense that they'd never do it considering you guys are making it sound like the same show with extra steps and they did everything but that.>>23747811Girls like action, they just don't like the type of action boys usually exclusively like, like military stuff, graphically violent stuff(unless it's written for some reason), stuff that's real technical or focuses on realism. The type of action that's in KR and Sentai is usually the kind of stuff they like, where it's stylish, not too serious, character focuses or has emotional stakes like a character proving themselves or a lover involved.
>>23747759Shut the fuck up already, Schizoid.
Anon was right, Alisa really could have pulled off Rine.
>>23747818>considering you guys are making it sound like the same show with extra stepsBecause you literally described PreCure but with less appeal to girls despite your idea being for this new versión of Sentai to be aimed towards girls. And you somehow think girls wouldn't pick Precure over it just like boys picked Rider over it. Again, live action is not an actual selling point as proven many times before.>Girls like actionStop projecting, you're not a little girl. They'd rather watch their heroines do idol dances and other cute things.
>>23747222And Six is dying so her suit is going to waste too.
>>23747852I don't think most girls have even considered sentai, I'm saying give them a reason to consider it. but what would you do?>Stop projecting, you're not a little girl. They'd rather watch their heroines do idol dances and other cute things.thats very obviously stupid. action has always had universal appeal. Adrenaline, tension and release engage with the fundamentals of how our brains are wired. Being male or female doesn't change that, what matters for either is the context and what is being portrayed.
>>23747222Probably because of release dates of the belts clashing with the overall development of the story.>Then the descriptions for the tertiary make it look like a straight forward villain, but is a Kamen Rider. It's genuinely so fucking stupid..It's clear Yanaka needs to learn more how to work with the merchandising and toy aspect of the show. He wants a simpler stripped down the show with only one or two riders and yet we are in era of as many riders as Bandai can get away with.
>>23747873From those demographic surveys don't they find a lot of girls like Sentai as it is? Or at least adult women...Something like Sentai's ending dance sequences are probably the best direction to take it. It's something that boys and girls can enjoy regardless but is something I think the female audience is more receptive to.The thing about branching out to a separate demographic is that it's always foolish to try and completely reinvent a franchise for it. More often than not that indicates that the showrunner takes the existing audience for granted, thinks they're locked in no matter what. But if they change the series away from what the existing audience likes to try and get a new audience, usually they end up not getting that new audience and pushing out the old one so they're just worse off.
You hear him
>>23747873>but what would you do?Not target Sentai to little girls because it already has serious competition in that demographic just like it does in the boys one. Sentai's problem isn't the actual shows' ratings and popularity, it's the toy sales. Literally the only thing that can fix its situation is getting well-designed toys that are attractive to kids and can actually compete with other toylines.Shirakura's a retard who's been trying and failing to revive Sentai using multiple strategies that don't address the real issue that affects it. Your ideas sound like his stupid misguided experiments that only sunk the franchise even deeper.
>>23747885Personally I think Kyuranger, Lupat and even King Ohger were pretty big shakeups and those bled viewers too to where I don't think something that isn't a major shake up would do much.I think for the most part that's true and would be more applicable to a thriving franchise but when everything's going wrong you kind of gotta do something or viewers just keep bleeding. An element to this is I think streaming and ease of access to old episodes creating less demand for new episodes of shows that are doing what they've already done before. Also, personally I don't think it's that big of a leap or you need to do that much because the format is essentially already there.>>23747905The toys and the show rely on each other so what would you do on the show side is what I'm asking.Obviously idealy the toys would be perfect.
Finally got to evol true reveal in build and as much as i like his suit, i have to say it one of the weaker main antagonists reveals from the series i watched so far.
>>23747909>The toys and the show rely on each other so what would you do on the show side is what I'm asking. You can't do anything, most of the Reiwa Sentai shows are critically acclaimed and had decent ratings for modern Toku but their toy sales were still shit. It's entirely a toy problem. You can make a 10/10 show that everybody loves, but if the toys are shit and there are far better ones elsewhere, people won't buy them no matter how much they like the show they're attached to.
>>23747912The show drags on a lot once Evolto reveals himself. The second half is mostly carried by the cast and their interactions rather than the plot.
Yo.
>>23747909Kyuranger was a modest success that went overbudget to accomplish it.Lupinranger vs Patranger has fans and interest except nobody bought the toys. The same with Kingohger, but then again Omori probably had zero interest in toy shilling by the half way point because he probably was going to leave Toei by then.>an element to this is I think streaming and ease of access to old episodes creating less demand for new episodes of shows that are doing what they've already done before.Shirakura has basically said this that with streaming newer shows are basically competing with their more successful predecessors. But the root of the problem is the toys and they are just unattractive in terms of quality and price. Tegasword was considered a success this year and even then the toys sales for Gozyuger still wasn't nearly as hot as Bandai/Toei/Matsuure would like to claim. The problem is the entire revenue model of super sentai and rider rides on merch sales because ratings are dead and for sentai, bandai has fumbled the toy line so badly for years causing the cancellation of super sentai.

I find it interesting how Kamen Rider's endings are all about "the war is finally over, even if battles continue" while Sentai's last endings were about "the battle is never ending, but that's okay actually". They ended the same way they began, but the overall point is that it's good. Lacks the finality rider shows get.
>>23747951The Wärring Driver thing was even more embarrassing, especially when we find out a few episodes into the series that Ryoma named it after himself. Their solution wasn't to just start using Sengoku as a proper noun from that point, but rather to start translating Ryoma's full name as "Ryoma Wärring."

>>23747477>Losing the Winter crossovers is a big red flagIt's probably because the crossover toys weren't doing great and to be fair the movie toys are kinda shit so kids don't really have a reason to want them. I also assume that TTFC and other V-cinema stuff are eating into the whole point of the crossover movies, that being crossovers.Aren't they making anniversary movies to make up for the loss of the winter movie?
>>23748307Beat Runners is chief directed by Sakamoto as well
>>23748307Look, I'm not gonna pretend Zeztz is high art or something, but Beat Runners is literally no different than any of the Utlra Galaxy Fight series that Sakamoto directed. It's all just very awkward fights in front of a green screen with no really relevant set design and the same three camera angles (Two different 3/4 angles and a 180 degree shot, the only time they seem different is from variable levels of zoom).Frankly Sakamoto's work only really works when he has the budget to have stuntmen in a physical location and moving around, and even then he seems to make a bad habit of trying to get open flat areas for more generic choreo. It's been a while since he's done anything on par with this scene that was just a gag for a bit character.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AOFgZ-w-tQ
>>23747477But Rider is still getting other theatrical releases though, like the W Fuuto Pi movie and now the Agito movie. Sentai had to give up on the "post-series V-Cinema" movie slot to keep the Vs movies going after they lost the theatrical releases.>>23748308The box office wasn't doing well, not toys. They had a big drop between Heisei Generations Forever and Reiwa First Generation and just dropped more for Beyond Generations and never recovered from there. I really think dropping the structure of the Heisei Generations, where you always had guests from several shows appearing not just the two current ones, was a big mistake. The gimmick of the Saber/Revice Riders in past suits in the Beyond Generations movie also clearly didn't work to attract audiences even compared to standard suit-only appearances.
>>23747588I know Den-O is the turning point, but frankly even Kabuto doesn't feel all that different from it
>>23748345Kabuto didn't start getting goofy until the last third or so. >>23747883>He wants a simpler stripped down the show with only one or two riders and yet we are in era of as many riders as Bandai can get away with.Well he's certainly going about it all wrong if the only additional riders are all antagonistic while the "rivals" are actual allies even if it's just for now. It kinda makes having the Kamen Rider title kinda pointless, especially with Nox who is still the main antagonist of the first half. You'd also have to give off a certain aura to just even look like you would be a villain which is the case for the tertiary. I'm not saying that it's bad to have Riders and Rival types to emphasize the title not. But having rivals while making the only other Riders antagonists is just down right stupid. Especially more so with Zeztz since Nox Knight and the Lords are aesthetically the closest to Kamen Riders down to the belt than any previous rivals have been. Like I doubt anyone would've batted an eye if the Nox Knight's was simply Kamen Rider Nox from the get go.
is this the reason Toei stopped sentai production? toy sales?

lol
>>23748691Yes, where have you been? It's stated a lotAlso I don't know why you're asking us rather than the other generalBut yes the main reason Sentai is dying is because the toys suck, so every season since Ninninger has been a financial failure, the seasons since Kiramager have actually been fairly popular in Japan but that doesn't matter if the toys are bad, for reference Zeztz's first quarter earned 6.3 billion, making it the worst selling first quarter of Reiwa so far yet it managed to earn more than Donbrothers as a whole which is the best selling Reiwa Sentai season
>>23748750Decade made about the same amount of toy money in its 31 episode run that Shinkenger did in its whole year.
>>23748768I am surprised Ryuki did so well it practically beat out every single Sentai toyline with the exception of Kyoryuger.
>>23748782Kids liked the designs a lot even if tokusatsu otaku didn't initially and cards are not only cheap to produce but sell a lot and this was in the very midst of the Yu-Gi-Oh boom in Japan

Ace with us...
I just noticed I was posting in the wrong thread my bad
>>23748967Foxes are cool and good it's fine anon
>>23748691The toyline is the main reason that Super Sentai exists now: to shill the toys. The problem is nobody wants the toys because they are not good and they are too expensive. And thus Super Sentai has been considered an expensive failure for the last decade. Tegasword is considered a "success" this year, but the numbers for Gozyuger weren't good and only if you compare it relatifvely to the truly terrible numbers from Kiramager/Zenkaiger/Kingohger. It's no surprise that the top 3 producers at Toei turned in three of the worst performing Reiwa shows which demonstrates how detached reception by fans has to do with the toys. You can create a good show, but it'll flounder if the toyline sucks. Likewise we have Gozyuger over there with a minor success with Tegasword and it had all sorts of problems bts.

Shinichiro Shirakura Interview: Past Experiences Working with Shotaro IshinomoriShinichiro Shirakura, known as the father of the Heisei Kamen Rider series (Senior Executive Director at Toei Company, Head of Character Strategy Department, and Chief Producer of the Visual Planning Department), created Kamen Rider works with themes distinct from previous ones, incorporating experimental elements in each series. In Kamen Rider Agito, he added mythological elements to the theme of "human evolution"; in Kamen Rider Ryuki, he redefined "what is a hero?" through a battle royale among the Riders. This time, we invited Naohiro Nanata (Professor at the Graduate School of Social Data Science, Hitotsubashi University) to discuss Shirakura's view of heroes and his memories of Shotaro Ishinomori, the origin of that vision.Birth of Heisei Kamen Rider Aiming for New TV Dramas>Shirakura: At the time, rather than making "Kamen Rider", I felt like I was creating a new type of TV drama. In the mid-90s, I also served as a producer for hero works, and all I thought about was how to revamp previous heroes to give them a modern feel and freshness. But when it came to making Kamen Rider, I realized that thinking in terms of enemy vs. ally or Kamen Rider vs. Shocker wouldn't produce anything new. So I changed my approach, redefining it as human vs. human to reconstruct relationships. This way, we could create conflict patterns never depicted in previous dramas. I wasn't making a new Kamen Rider; I was using Kamen Rider as material for a new TV drama. I thought this might open a gap in Japan's stale TV drama scene. It might be too risky for prime time, but with Kamen Rider, some boldness might be allowed.(1/?)
>>23748990>Nanata: Sentai heroes were hugely popular then, with the series continuing, so differentiation was essential.>Shirakura: If starting a new Rider series, we absolutely couldn't interfere with Sentai. The pyramid structure—enemy organization with a boss, executives below, monsters further down, and grunts at the bottom—originated with Kamen Rider but was taken by Sentai, so we couldn't touch it. We had to go against Sentai in every way, but conversely, it meant we didn't have to follow traditions. We could create Kamen Rider unbound by past styles.>Nanata: The target age group was set higher, reflected in the story.>Shirakura: Since we aimed to change TV dramas, it had to be fun, interesting, and meaningful for adults too. But making kids fully understand was tough, so we used a dual-layer structure: adults see one thing, kids another. We never shook the baseline for kids—a cool Rider punishes bad monsters. Close inspection reveals it's not so simple, but we didn't intend kids to grasp that layer. Even if the story got complex, we couldn't let kids feel confused. Even if forced, we stuck to "cool Rider defeats bad monster". A common pitfall in adult-appealing works is fighting what seems a bad monster, only to find it's a good-hearted one—producers love heartwarming twists, but I firmly avoided them because kids can't understand. "We beat last week's monster, but save this week's because it's good? Why?" So no such stories: monsters, good or bad, must be defeated. Adults feel the tragedy of downing a good one; kids cheer "Yay! Rider wins big!" I committed to the "monsters always lose" pattern.(2/?)
>>23748989NTA but I hope you and your lil foxy friend are doing well
>>23748989Then what do you think about gotchard, gavv and current series?
>>23748991Heroes on the Boundary of Good and Evil>Nanata: Were these stories and themes something you originally had?>Shirakura: When doing Rider, I intensively studied mythology, cultural anthropology, and folklore. Modern adults seek logical consistency and reason everything, but stories are fundamentally lies. Except for kids, most know stories are fake yet accept them. Why like these lies? The human brain craves stories, but not logic, reason, or settings. Even consistent lies are just "well-crafted lies" or "preachy lies". The essence of craved stories lies in folklore, fairy tales, and myths—especially myths, born from urgent needs. Myths explain "why gods created the world", not logic, yet they've been loved and passed down for millennia. Basing on this creates stories closer to the essence, hitting hearts—simply put, hits that sell.>Nanata: Hero images from those myths and fairy tales are reflected in Heisei Kamen Rider, right?>Shirakura: Fairy tales and myths often feature everything—good or bad—coming from the boundary, the "in-between this shore and that shore". In Judaism and Christianity, Moses floats from the river; same with Momotaro. Originally, humans aren't purely good or evil but ambiguous wanderers between. But that's hard to grasp or convincing, so people rationally or scientifically "snap" it apart, creating contradictions. No one knows or cares where Momotaro came from, but reality demands boundaries for clarity.(3/?)
>>23748998>Nanata: In your Kamen Rider Ryuki, the "justice messengers fighting each other" structure re-questions the boundary of "what is justice?" Also, in 555, it depicted blurred human-monster lines, shattering "monster = evil". You rejected cheap labeling, presenting ambiguity as is.>Shirakura: Humans desperately crave boundaries—witch hunts, religious wars, Protestant vs. Catholic. History repeats it. But that urge for lines is the source of misfortunes. For a kids' show like Rider, I wondered if infusing this was okay. It's not propaganda for ideologies—just entertainment. But I shouldn't reproduce values I deem bad."What Do You Think?">Nanata: I heard the trigger for you taking Kamen Rider was your youthful work with Shotaro Ishinomori.>Shirakura: Less a trigger, more a burden: when handling Rider, I felt a mission to treat it seriously, even desperately. Fresh at Toei at 25, I joined the 20th anniversary planning. Before Ishinomori, I outright rejected his proposed script: "That won't be popular". >Nanata: To the creator of Kamen Rider himself, a 25-year-old newbie says no.>Shirakura: Ishinomori's story: A youth raised on Kamen Rider cosplays nightly in the suit, roaring on a modified bike. One day, he saves a girl from thugs as "Rider", gets cocky, and spirals into bigger events. I blurted: "No, sir, this isn't Kamen Rider—it's Kamen Rider make-believe".>Nanata: Ishinomori's reaction?>Shirakura: He asked, "What do you think?" We scrapped and replanned, birthing Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue. A V-Cinema with a Rider not heroic but gooey-popular style—more eerie SFX makeup than transformation. Shin succeeded commercially, showed something new, but deviated from the Rider image fans wanted. Ishinomori added "Prologue", implying "This is the prelude; real story follows".(4/?)
>>23749000>Nanata: What was Ishinomori thinking accepting your proposal?>Shirakura: I realized his true intent sometime after Shin's completion. Back then, I got cocky—"My opinion won; Ishinomori approved me, withdrew his". As a first-year producer, great start. Years later, I pondered why he approved, if my idea was right, his original intent. Gradually, it dawned: This was the 20th anniversary. His pitch was a fan-viewer becoming true Rider. I dismissed it as play-pretend, but he embedded: "20 years on, now you become Rider". So when a punk like me opposed and pitched my Rider, he greenlit. "What do you think?" then "Let's do that"—content didn't matter. To him, I was that kid from 20 years ago watching Rider. Now, as grown viewer-turned-insider saying "This is Rider" or "Make it this way," embodying that passion was the perfect 20th anniversary.>Nanata: So the process mattered more than content.>Shirakura: Just whether manifesting "20th anniversary" as Ishinomori's message or as grown-kid-joining-production. Both equally from his love for TV viewers 20 years prior. Experience taught me this, revealing Ishinomori's vastness vs. my smallness. I wanted to apologize: "Couldn't grasp your intent then; now I get a bit". But he passed before I could. Even post-passing, "Original work: Shotaro Ishinomori" abounds. Without him, anything goes—many push "my Kamen Rider", claiming creator status. But true creator is only him. He'd smile-forgive, but absence is tougher—no convincing him. Alive, I'd query "This Rider off?" He'd counter: "What do you think?". His absence demands stricter self-scrutiny: Does this fit his worldview/theme? I must find the answer.>Nanata: You've carried this, questioning society via Heisei Riders, greeting heavenly Ishinomori by releasing works—answering his "What do you think?"(5/5)

He came back at the beginning of last year after he lost a fight for a mate and spent a few months recovering in my garden. He then remembered me and became extremely friendly and has been popping in and out during 2025 until beginning of November when horny season kicked in and he went out looking for a mate again. This time he didn't leave and probably insisted his mate start a litter nearby. He's hasn't introduced me to his vixen, but his cubs have been born close by and quite recently. He calls for me right outside my door at night at around Midnight - 3am and digs up my strawberries in frustration because they aren't bearing any fruit anymore in winter.>>23748995Gotchard: Stopped watching after episode 5, I didn't like it, can't have an opinion on what happened afterwards.Gavv: Outside of Valen I highly dislike the colour vomit designs. However probably the best trio of protagonists we've had in a while despite Vram's rushed villain arc. The villains were a rushed nothingburger that were either stretched out with little to no development or rushed into a two parter conclusion in which they get unceremoniously offed. I enjoyed the season but like Geats there were major flaws I had to ignore to enjoy (which I was able to ignore as they weren't egregious enough to impact my enjoyment of the series).Zeztz: Enjoying it, it's beginning to pick up, but like many others in the thread Nox comes off as the annoying asshole who keeps saying "Oh the CODE you work for is big scary and bad I am the righteous but I won't elaborate any further kthxbai" while simultaneously having the charisma of a rock with a unhappy face on it.My prediction is ZA LADY is not even human and a creation of CODE in an attempt to turn dreams into some kindof renewable energy or weapon, and now they have to stop her from fucking the world up now she's escaped out into the wild.

>>23749415>Gavv technically made the least money since GhostOh good more shitposter fuel
Very late and useless by now, but here's the updated chart.Bandai's expectations for the full year didn't change, so they seemingly expected this result.
>>23748768what was up with Blade? I keep wondering how it fell so badly from Faiz.
>>23749428The toys themselves just seemingly didn't connect with kids + Blade had a 20% drop on ratings average compared to Faiz which is a huge loss in audience year on year. 9.3% was Faiz's average tv ratings, while Blade fell to a 7.9% average, which means a LOT of people dropped Blade right after the first few episodes. Blade's first two episodes actually had a 10% average, so people tuned in for the beginning (about the same as Faiz's first two), but from there it was in free fall until the writer change in the 30s, which stopped the bleeding but didn't recover the people who had dropped the show.
>>23749421The Gavvfag shitposter actually stopped spamming the sales chart because of that. It was karmic justice.
>>23749440I see, I thought there was something else about the toys themselves, but yeah the drop in audience would explain most of it.
