He runs away to space and is replaced by Lord Butcho.SRWY skips this part with Redlone being replaced by other commanders and just has him returning immediately afterwards as a cyborg (since Redlone is the most popular and long running villain in the series). Note he should only return to the frontlines AFTER Great Da-Garn GX has already debuted, but Y adapts that (although skipping the part with Da-Garn's death and such) with Redlone as the active antagonist.
Da Garn would have fit the base game so well that I will be forever salty about it getting wasted as DLC
