well the complaints about the story going nowhere were corrected with one episodenext arc will be doing some funny business to revive the dead though
I have no idea what's going on in this show anymore, shit's too confusing.
YOU COUNT THE CAPSEMS ONE TWO AND THREE
What are your praises and criticisms on the 23rd episode?
Wow that was a lot.I don't know why I didn't even consider Lady being Nem's mother but it makes sense.
>they're in the real world>shot blew up multiple buildingsWell Baku just unintentionally blew Nox's kill count out of the water, huh?
>>23759878I mean, that whole area had been hit by explosions for a while. There shouldn't be many people left.
>>23759878<<What I was thinking at the end of the episode>>23759864The only thing that is taking away from this episode is that yeah, you know those people that are 'dead' aren't actually staying that way. But it does make good drama
>>23759877I suspected it but wasn't sure if they'd go for it
I expected NOX to get folded I did not expect him to actually die though even though I think it's only temporary
>>23759864It's probably dream within a dream bullshit. Inception had the "dream purgatory" too, where you fall into if you die while dream hopping.>>23759878Arguably worse than what the Demon Lord Nightmare was doing. He was at least targetting small groups of people at a time.
https://mega.nz/folder/2QFTFKxJ#1qRPjOjMZjIrEAKt8NR2ig
>>23759882and he died just like he lived, like a cryptic bitch.hopefully he never revives, or at least he lets himself be spanked every ep. onward because he doesnt deserve any kind of love. HELL! fucker was the one who created the world destroying monster we are dealing with now!
I think Baku had an interesting reaction to "killing" a dude compared to when previous Riders have done that accidentally. He just decided to lock in forever.
>>23759890in all fairness Nox was a gigantic gigabitch it's understandable he wasn't that phased
>>23759890If Nox had given any actual substance beyond "dude, just trust me", maybe things would've been different. This bad ending is on him.
>>23759890he might have some misunderstandings with 5 and 6, but he knew they were good people all things considered, and he realized their deaths were his fault.him killing his humanity was the only thing he could do.>>23759894good riddance, to say his cryptic bass-ackwards crap was getting annoying would be an understatement. and since now more than ever, its obvious NOX was never against CODE and was still on Zero's side, the moment he revives and joins the heroes is gonna be jarring as all hell.
Unfortunately Nox will come back because leaving him dead would mean the show would have to be good
I thought it was amusing that they were playing the triumphant hero OP song as Baku decided to become 7 despite that this was actually kind of bad.
>>23759899They could always give him the ol' Gentoku treatment and completely rewrite the character on the fly.
The thing I've been liking about CODE is, on paper they're the good guys. They're the ones trying to save the world through any means necessary. But they're just so callous in regards to this, treating their agents as merely a number and the whole child soldier thing, that at the end it actually causes things to get worse. They created their own villain in Nox, those kids from a couple of episodes are now dead because Nox believed in his own form of "the greater good" by taking down CODE by any means, and now Baku's broken and has a form that has a lot of collateral damage. CODE is supposed to protect the world, but their protection has only created more enemies and problems..I know there are guys out there that will always try to defend characters who operate on CODE's logic, but this feels refreshing.
>>23759890I mean he's spiraling fucking hard, likely just trying to justify him killing another person by throwing his identity away to become Seven completely.
>>23759901
>>23759902>They created their own villain in Nox>Nox believed in his own form of "the greater good" by taking down CODE by any meansif only... ONLY that were the idea, i do wonder tho how Zero is gonna deal with Baku and the fact that his stellar double-triple-quadruple agent, Numbuh 4, was killed by him.its so obvious those are not his motives its not funny at all.
It was satisfying beyond belief to see Baku curbstomp Nox and that demon king nightmare so soundly. Goddamn, is Nox a personality repellant.
>>23759902CODE is cool because they're very much a government agency dealing with a supernatural threat. They take a strict zero-policy tolerance on nightmare threats while ignoring the fact that they had to use the same power to fight back. It's classic science fantasy, down to the scientists ultimately betraying the agency in pursuit of the supernatural.
>>23759901There's only like 2 months left before they wrap up filming.
Imagine the oyakodon.
>>23759913The Lady is not a scientist, she was an Agent.
>>23759888He has an upgrade coming up.
>I have the perfect plan to keep the world safe>We're going to traumatize the shit out of every person that ever works for us so they either turn into bad actors or die like dogs
>>23759913>>23759902It's kind of interesting this episode also revealed that CODE apparently isn't really a counter-Nightmare organization, but something that acts against any kind of threat to humanity. I wonder if that will be plot relevant...
I don't think I'll ever understand the Nox hate.
What are your temporarily parting words on Nox?
>>23759954I didn't like the Kuro fit. Now stop being a cryptic asshole if/when you comeback
>>23759941Well, at least CODE has the erase capsem. US Military does the same thing but without the magical memory wipes.
Wonder how long Baku will stay in the Seven persona/gey his humanity back
>>23759960for a recent example, two National Guardsmen were shot by a guy that turned out to be a former child soldier trained by the CIA. This is probably one of the most accurate and down to earth aspects of the show
I don't hate Nox like a lot of people seem to, but I did find it really funny that after all the hate he got, after his death, Baku went as far as to say he should have killed him sooner. I can only imagine how that line felt to the people basically saying the same thing the past few weeks.
>>23759953He wants Baku to give up being part of CODE for what he says is his own good but he's also summoning monsters into the real world to kill people for reasons he has never elaborated on purely to fuck with a shadow organization.>>23759966Only for the next episode, anon. Previews shows he snaps out of it pretty fast.
>>23759953look, we get that he was 'disposed of by CODE, or Zero more exactly'. but....>he was the one reigning the nightmares so far, using Nemu as their beacon.>he at is responsible for the Bomb nightmare's bombings.>when the bomb was unleashed in the human world, he released tons of nightmare butterflies>he destroyed the space center during the Meteor arc (and dont tell me the nightmare did, because he was the one who led the nightmare in, it IS still his fault, and THERE Must have been people there. i call bullshit no one was there, same with Bomb)>again, and i know its annoying to harp on it, but he was way too ok with letting the meteor strike to happen, by destroying the only method to stop it quickly. (and theres no way his erase capsem would have stopped it, not to mention he was never gonna apologize for that or explain his reasonings).>murdered 5 and 6, while they were so loyal to CODE they would never tell Baku their big dark secret, they were still good people.>and from that, he essentially turned Baku INSANE and now he became a worse threat than him.>and worst of all, ALL HE CAN TALK ABOUT IS IN FUCKING RIDDLES, he NEVER said Baku any good reason why he should have stopped, of course he was never gonna listen, you fuck!maybe i sound douchey, but i dont think i'll ever understand why people defend him either!
>>23759991its good to know that there is a reason as to why Baku was cursed to never be able to help people in the waking world, that being the Catastrom nightmare inside him.but now theres the issue of why Baku's deep subconcious was an apocalyptic wasteland, why he as a babby was in the middle of it. and why does he had that nightmare living inside him all this time. theres the implication from NOX!s riddles that Catastrom and possibly Orderom was created by CODE and implanted into Baku since birth, if that is even remotely true, then yeah that could be the most assholish thing CODE could have ever done. i mean, why would any secret organization want to weaponize the power of raw destruction and implant it into a fucking baby, and then groom said fucking baby into a weapon for later use/disposal?
>>23759945>It's kind of interesting this episode also revealed that CODE apparently isn't really a counter-Nightmare organization, but something that acts against any kind of threat to humanityThis was actually revealed in magazines back when the show was starting out, alongside them fact that CODE is a real life organization which was supposed to be a twist in the show itself:https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/23555389/#23557892
>>23759954You could have won if you had actually used this capsem, why didn't he?
Nem sock feets
>>23759954would have killed you to talk straight to ANYONE?... guess it doesnt matter, hopefully the devil rapes you as hard as possible for your bullshitspeak.
No way Nox stays dead.I'd laugh so hard if he was though.
>>23760000The Lady seemed to have expected Baku to eventually break and release Catastrom, and it seemed part of her plans. I wouldn't be surprised if her mind control shit was used to get kids to have their internal nightmares to let them transform, but Baku is the main/initial experiment of making something more destructive while being a baby to try and make something more powerful. That's probably why Lords are weaker and need alternate drivers.
>>23760029>Nox planned his death>somehow becomes a dream spirit and appears in the dream world >continues to show up in each episode and talk cryptically and do nothing before poofing away
>>23760038i mean, we saw his dream self in Baku's subconcious... i dont think he could be able to make more cryptic speeches in the condition he was, much less now that Baku nuked the shit out of said subconcious.
Nox is alive.Fujimi is hiding him in his house.
>>23760038>starts using a "Ghost" Capsem>Baku starts asking if he's really dead>"Hmph. You don't know anything" *leaves*
>>23759876Best episode since episode 3, Baku is quickly becoming my favorite Takahashi protagonistMy only complaint with the episode is that this is the first time I didn't like the action of an episode, I know people complain about Zeztz's action choreography and while I sort of agree usually the direction is so top-notch that the fights still end up being visually appealing to me but this episode the action felt really offBut other than that I really like the way the story is progressing, I'm still afraid that the justifications of 3 not doing anything and Nox being cryptic will be weak but hopefully everything else will manage to pull through so that the rest of the show continues to be great now that the story will be the focus
>>23760063>the action felt really offBecause he's not "fighting" he's just "breaking" it's just pure brute force without a care for the consequences so long as the Mission is completed.
>>23760043Fujimi will loot the belt off Nox's corpse and take over as the secondary and become Kamen Rider Nox Fuji
My nigga committed to vagueposting till his last breath
How did you react to Nox getting Crushermogged by CODE agent Zeztz Catastrom after Nox was done riddlegooning with Baku on the rooftop and got Rider spiked?
>>23759687>>23759876This is the episode I've liked the most since the first three, but it's not without its fair share of caveats. There were a few reveals, but not that many. I really enjoyed seeing Catastrom utterly destroy Nox, and I was even happier when it was revealed Baku had killed Nox. I'm not too happy though because I know Nox will come back soon, since he needs to shill that Wolf form we haven't seen in the show yet.I was already expecting it, but it's basically confirmed that CODE is behind Baku's "bad luck" now since The Lady seemed surprised at some of the stuff Minami told her about him. Curious that they specifically brought up the incident with the car in episode 1 though since that one looked it was Nox actively fucking with Baku, so I wonder if this could be considered a retcon.Speaking of Nox, he really can't drop the cryptic bullshit even when he's fucking dying, can he? Also, from what we've seen so far, he's suffered even worse under The Lady than he did under CODE, he should be madder at her than he is at them. Unless this "death" was actually part of his plan, but given all the times he told Baku to fuck off as well as his surprise at Catastrom, I really doubt it.I actually laughed out loud when Three fucking punched Baku in the gut while he was in his sleep coma. Three also had no business telling outsiders what CODE is when they don't even wanna tell their current Agent what it is, none of the members of this secret organization we've seen so far are very good at keeping things secret, they really like spilling things out. Also Three should've told Nasuka that Kureha willingly rejoined CODE despite knowing the risks, if he really wanted to shut her up.(1/2)
>>23760230I also liked that Nem did her job as a Heroine and provided some moral support for Baku, though ultimately Baku ended up helping her more than she helped him, like always. The twist about The Lady being her mother (though in what sense, we don't know yet) makes sense since they both have psychic powers, but I didn't really expect it because The Lady had never talked about her in a way that made it seem like she genuinely cared about her as a person before this, she just sounded like a generic villain hyping up her key tool. While I like the fact that Baku said he should've killed Nox sooner, that's clearly not framed as a good thing and he still shed a tear over this faggot who, as far as he knows, has zero redeemable qualities. I would've complained that him being stuck in a sleep coma again was a bit repetitive, but this had a very different resolution compared to the Plasma arc. While this whole thing about Baku becoming ruthless and fully dedicating himself to the Agent persona/job is interesting, I doubt it's going to last long since everyone's worried about him and CODE's already firing him next week. At most, I think he'll stay like this until the Orderm debut.I don't like how they completely ignored that there was a Super Nightmare out there in the real world basically causing the motherfucking apocalypse, until the last few minutes of the episode. We saw nothing about the kids and nothing was said about them even though they should be safe now, and they didn't bring up the fact that the Disaster Nightmare's butterfly put everybody to sleep either, though I feel like this last event might be connected to the twist that will bring all the "dead" characters back to life (I have the theory that everyone's possibly been trapped in a dream world ever since the Disaster Nightmares got summoned, so nobody got killed for real).(2/3)
>>23760233I like how destructive and aggressive Catastrom is. It's also surprisingly not a berserk form, Baku was just that fucking pissed at Nox and the form's sheer power just causes a ton of collateral damage. Next episode looks really good, though the overall progression of the plot in these last few episodes has felt kinda off, this episode felt like it was supposed to be a climax but it wasn't really one since it just introduced the issue of Baku becoming edgy and having to deal with Catastrom's destructiveness.(3/3)
I think I got a handle what Nox's actual motivations were - he hated that guys like him were treated as expendables despite the things they've done. He found similar kinship in the lady for being burned by CODE and for taking away her daughter. This still doesn't exactly justify his insane methods but he doesn't seem to accept what CODE does is ultimately for the greater good even if it means trampling down on their own "heroes". To him CODE is the greater Satan and people would be better off if heroes like Baku would be left to sort out their own local shit.As for Baku getting burned next episode, I can see CODE's case for it. The dude just pulled out a literal catastrophe for a power-up and he really did show how much damage it could bring even when used for good intentions. Baku's a threat with the belt in his control and could be an even bigger threat with that nightmare in him. Despite what he's done, he's too much of a wild card to be left alone to his own devices. Seven needs to be put down before he becomes an even worse Four.
>>23760252>He found similar kinship in the lady for being burned by CODE and for taking away her daughterDid CODE really take her away though? The did nothing to her in all those years she was working as Japan's most famous idol, and the only member of CODE who has expressed any intent on retrieving her after her kidnapping is Baku.
>>23760261What else would be stopping her from taking her from one of their orphanages? Also, Nemu is clearly an industry CODE plant. How else does she keep getting jobs without doing a thing?
It'll be nice if the Baku's character shift will last for a long time and we get to watch his mind just deteriorate more and more each week.Shame he's probably just going to revert back when he unlocks Ordem in a few eps.
>>23760283Yeah, I would've preferred having 7 around for a few episodes. Maybe even have him cooperate with 5 and 6 on a mission, only to realize that he doesn't quite belong with CODE, either. Then have Catastrom be responsible for 5 and 6's "deaths" to give 3 a proper reason to eliminate 7.
How strong is Three?
>>23759878Unless specified by the show, it’s just a cool effect. How many explosions have OOOs and Den-O made in their years and everyone is fine. Kuuga’s nuclear blast were twice as deadly and he’s a certified hero. Not to mention the Nightmare was already destroying the city and people evacuated.
>>23759890Nox genuinely deserved to die, and while he should not lose his humanity over it, it is absolutely true that if he had killed him all the way back in the nightmare episode, everything would have been better. I understand the show is criticizing the whole "achieving peace at all cost" mentality, but at least with Nox it was absolutely true.
>>23759900It’s bad for him as a person. However, in this episode he achieved:>waking up Nem>killing Nox>save the kids from the NightmareHe was fundamentally heroic
>>23759956>being an assholeHe won't. But his redemption will suck ass.
>>23760015He used it in this episode, speedwatcher-kun
Do you think Zeztz will reach Xross Saber/Geats IX level by endgame
>>23759687>>23759876I still find it dumb how they just treated the Nightmare destroying the world as a side inconvenience compared to CODE’s shadiness. Baku’s sister meeting with The Lady like the Nightmare isn’t currently on the loose blowing up the city is hilarious. They want to sell CODE so bad that they undermine the end of the world. Sure, people may be dying by the hundreds, but Baku is losing his humanity! Clearly that’s more important right now! Nobody even talked about the Nightmare outside of Baku and Three, like it didn’t exist. They almost justify CODE’s bullshit mentality when they’re the only ones taking this threat seriously. That said, now that Nox is dead (good) and Nem is waking up, it seems now CODE is changing from morally dubious to straight up villain status. Which is a good spot to do it in frankly. No matter what they do I’ll never say Nox was "right", but I can believe they’re not good for the world either. It’s just Nox and the lady were worse.
>>23759876I have to agree it's the best episode plot wise so far, my only issue is that they let Baku transform IRL too early on, this reveal that Seven can take over Baku is not as impactful because Baku was already doing his agent work and tranforming IRL, he was just forced to in order to break his coma
>>23759954There is no possible twist that can redeem him because either his actions aren’t justified or his crypticness isn’t. Even if he ends up being right about everything, the universal response will be "why didn’t you tell Baku that earlier?". And there will never be a good answer for that after 20+ episodes.
>>23760411He'll have full-on "It's a Good Life" powers
NOX WILL BE BACK
>>23760411Only in dreams
The most unbelievable thing about this episode was the Nem was able to get up and walk from being comatose for however long. Her muscles have atrophied from lack of use, put her in a wheelchair.
>>23760423Unfortunately.
>>23760423..as a soulless reinstated agent of CODE
>>23760435Nem standing on her little socks was integral to the plot, you monster
>>23760439You wish, Three.
>>23760233>I don't like how they completely ignored that there was a Super Nightmare out there in the real world basically causing the motherfucking apocalypseBecause they are gearing up for the reveal that this world is a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream so there really isn't a point to care about a world that doesn't exist.
>>23760435It's a dream, you can do anything.
>>23760488>CODE doesn't want you to know the ducks at the park are free.
>>23759876Like: -Baku shattering his own dream world to free Nem and himself.-Catastrom. I know he's just a guy in a padded suit but it's so cool. I hope he doesn't job for a while.Dislike:-They did the Mao Nightmare dirty to make Catastrom the true embodiment of destruction. That would be ok if it wasn't for the fact that the first Nightmare that escaped seemed to be an even greater problem. The show tells you that even a shitty Nightmare escaping for a bit is a big deal, but a Superdupergiganighthmare left alone for at least a day and a half wasn't that much of a threat.Mao was pretty poorly managed in general desu.
>>23759876Baku is a fantastic protagonist so far and these past few episodes are really rising him further in my list of favorite primaries. Really hope he keeps up the momentum because it's not often that I enjoy a Takahashi protag, though I think that he definitely should not have transformed outside of his dreams since it kind of takes away from the impact Catastrom and him casting aside the name of Baku Yorozu so he can be CODE Agent #7 fulltime. Not too much, but it would've been an incredible decision if him henshining into Catastrom was his first henshin as Baku. Oh well. Also the brainwashed kids are still gone...
>>23760503I really hope this doesn't lead to a Parad-like reveal. Emu still had good moments, but I think he'd have stood out much more overall if "M" continued being just part of his personality, rather than splitting into someone else.So far, it all seems like just Baku's own choices though, since he even commented on why he was changing, rather than it just being something that happened, which gives me hope the show won't pull that.
>>23760509Thankfully I don't think that's the case because it would be bizarre at this point in time for #7 to become his own thing rather than being Baku's dream persona. It looks like Baku will eventually snap out of his current mindbreak, too, it makes me wonder how he's going to shape himself as both Baku Yorozu and as CODE Agent No.7 since we know that's obviously going to be the conclusion.I also like how he's only transforming into Catastrom and just brutally destroying anything in his path without any regard to the environment. He truly has become his own nightmare.
>>23760030i would still like an explanation outside of toy scheduling as to why Nox was a Knight while 3, 5, and 6 are Lords. Also why Erase just seemed to be a generic Capsem they use.
>>23760503>Also the brainwashed kids are still gone...I imagine there will be some kind of reset button in the very near future. Kind of wish it didn't and the kids and Nox and 5 and 6 were really dead, but this is not that kind fo show.
>>23759954You died as you lived: vagueposting.
>>23760409He used the gun not the sword you retard
Paradigm still feels stronger
Did Baku just kill all of the kids that were inside of the Disaster Nightmare
>>23760576Nah, this world is only a dream so they are fine.
how many people did Baku kill, finishing through those buildings?
>>23760598None.
>>23760598The whole area had been bombed to hell for a while. If people were still there they just wanted to die.
>>23760503>Also the brainwashed kids are still gone...I'm pretty sure it'll be like when Fujimi had his Nightmare released in the real world. After it was defeated, he woke up
>>23760598low double digits tops since it looked like the maou nightmare was still hunting people down in that area so good odds some where hiding indoors. which is probably what earns him the kill order from CODE next episode
>>23760786when was the last time a main rider ''accidentally'' killed a lot of innocents?i'm talking an attack. not activating some end of the world device.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCe4EN1aW54The 23rd episode.
