I've been wageslaving for a month so I just had the time to catch up on episodes. Man I love this series, buying the figures with my wagiedollars when they come out so they make more.The mix of music and fights works well, and I'm surprised how they've managed to subvert some expected plot beats. Stuff like Jun locking in after getting slapped, the orphanage guy not giving any final message before passing on, lots of the deaths too. It feels earnest so far, hope they don't time loop and ruin it.
Looking back at the leaks, it's interesting to see now which of the Ten braves got to keep their functions. We haven't seen Kakei act as a bodyguard or Kamanosuke leading attack squadrons yet. Maybe in the second cour?

Regarding the Rock Hara idol group, I honestly think their story should be explored in the second half... and they turn out to be the surviving Dark Warlords. Rajura is the manager who uses the Armor of Illusion to mask the others' identities, and the other three went along with it because their help towards the original Troopers in defeating Arago is considered high treason in the irredeemably evil Demon World. Kayura is actually the one in red, Naaza in green and Anubis in blue, and it would turn out to be Ryo who recorded one of their concerts at their behest because the DST are their allies now, and maybe Kayura would create a crush on Kaito over the course of the short arc. It would even be hilarious for Kaito to learn only one of the idols is a legit girl, and she happens to also be the most serious in becoming an idol.

Nevertheless, their function is the protection of that world just as the Samurai Troopers are for Earth.Having them decide to abandon the Yoja World, especially after Arago had perverted it and heavily disrupted the order of the universe for 1000 years, entirely goes against their in-universe function and the cultural themes of which they are representative of. Which is stupid since all four of them have since gained their free will after four centuries. If that girl idol trio turns out to be anything, it's probably the other warrior beasts or some bullshit.

Otherwise they would've corrected Arago's 1000 year long fuckery.I'm still of the mind that it's Yashima no Sagume as the big bad of the show and that she probably aided Ramaga's rise and provided him the means to get a one up on the protectors of the Yoja World to get where we are now in the show. I like to think they're either on the down low or held in some kind of stasis like Arago had Seiji, Shin and Xiu before they were all finally freed towards the end of Yoroiden.

This is the problem with trying to bring in another realm. They really should've just left at at youja realm and human realm and explore the relationship between these places first. Now we have a whole mess of things to deal with in the second cour. The writers actually thought they were smart enough to write Game of Thrones level political intrigue.
