just "finished" another age, massive mt was the hardest fight by far but desu i went for a karasawa + moonlight combo so that makes short work of most opponetns.reviews said it has 100+ missions but i hit the credits on 89 sorties.i saw the ng+ mission on the unexplored region but there cant be that many, right?maybe if you count the coop missions but im not so sure.still, i loved it, gen 2 gameplay is always fun. dont need much more than "shoot everyone until they die" missions in mostly varied environments.im starting to understand how letting acs fire more than one gun at once has been a major balance shift for armored core as a series.and how gen 3 maps cant be designed assuming everyone has overboost.anyways, what do you think about anothe rage, fellow ravens?i do admit i wished fromsoft would release an expansion to ac6 which was just a #merc_lyfe simulator with 100+ missions.
>>23768657>i do admit i wished fromsoft would release an expansion to ac6 which was just a #merc_lyfe simulator with 100+ missions.I too would like a MercWarrior but with Armored Core gameplay and aesthetic. I've tried playing through MW5M again after the Clan DLC dropped and I just couldn't get into it. I just couldn't go back to plowing through what's basically a walking sim but with a giant turret on legs. The music was still good though.
Just finished AC6. Is it just me or is the difficulty of the same sorta weird? Like it can be real hard to go in with a generic build but putting together a build for a specific enemy/level almost feels cheesy.

>>23768785>>23768780Oh, also I surprisingly barely have to even use my missiles. My gun combo has proven really deadly so far.
>>23768788yea if you go with two of that machinegun you will rarely need any additional firepowernexus balance is fuckt up, last raven shifts it towards a different direction but its not much "fairer" accross weapons classeswhats impressive is how accross all gen3 and gen3.5 games the burst rifles have universally sucked, they never bothered to make them useable
Are we ever going to get weapon arms back?
>>23769085Sure, right after optional parts, inside parts, extensions, radiators, back mounted radars, directional boosters and stabilizers. They'll be bundled with shoulder weapons, two slot back weapons and overed weapons in a weapon pack dlc.
>>23769096And after all that, we'll get back mounted boosters too. Trust the plan.
>>23769085Maybe in 2036

>>23769096 >stabilizers before weapon arms
>>23769292I rarely, if ever used weapon arms so I don't care about them nearly as much as about the mostly cosmetic parts that I always used. So, yeah.
>>23769096Radiators can stay in whatever pit they've been left to rot in. And back mounted radars would need a complete overhaul to come back.
I think weapon arms SUCKS
>>23769371They're a cool enough concept to warrant coming back, but yeah, they always kind of sucked.
>>23769379Yeah, I don't recall having a build of mine in any game that involved them.
>What's your buildtype?>Me: KARASAWA
>>23769496I dress like this whenever I go outside.
It's over
Weapon arms were decent.Grenade launcher weapons have always been usable for big damage.gen 1-2-3 machine gun arms had low ammo but great DPS energy weapon arms were good with EN weapon boosting optional parts.missile launcher weapon arms were pretty good.In gen 3 the spread bazooka weapon arms had INSANE burst DPS (you can kill the ultimate pulverizer in SECONDS). CETUS arms are just fucking great. In gen 4 kojima cannon weapon arms one-shot enemy ACs, bazooka weapon arms hit like a fucking truck after removing PA with something else (kamal in your left back weapon slot is pretty good), and machine gun arms are honestly just all around great. In VD you could use weapon arms as a way to swap to another weapon type if you had equipped cannons (I used CE cannon arms on my KE autocannons tank)They also look cool on RJ legs
>>23769379weapon arms would be a lot more interesting to me if we could build mobile armors, right now with the torso and legs it looks goofy. They're still cool on tank legs ACs
>>23769096>radiatorsDoes anyone unironically want the heat mechanic to come back? The only reason I ever liked it was so I could cheese the fuck out of Arena battles.>>23769379I think fifth gen had the right idea for making weapon arms better.
>>23769673>Does anyone unironically want the heat mechanic to come back?yes, meI like feeling under pressure when overheating and it feels appropriate when hit with a powerful explosive weapon or fire, or when overboosting.I like heat weapons (napalm missiles, napalm rockets, napalm howitzer, flamethrower, any weapon that is good at generating heat)I like missions with environmental hazard (heat/fire/lava in particular)and I think it's a cooler concept than the retarded stagger of AC6 and you can build your AC to mitigate it.Heat > primal armor > third defense type (gen 5) > stagger bar
>yearly playthrough of 4 and FA>messing around with a bunch of different builds>land on one that I think is pretty good, performs really well on the harder AC focused missions>get to occupation of arteria carpals >get curbstompednevermind my AC sucks
>>23769673i liked it
>>23769692It would make flametrhowers and the like have a more interesting niche than they do in 6. Also no arguments on the stagger system though, I think it's the weakest part of 6's gameplay design. A more gradual state instead of a binary staggered/unstaggered state would be way more interesting.>>23769695I personally don't, I view it the same way I do the old radar and biosensor mechanics, just an annoying thing to keep in mind rather than something I thought made builds more interesting.
>>23769714>I view it the same way I do the old radar and biosensor mechanics, just an annoying thing to keep in mind rather than somethingholy shit you have shit taste
>>23769723I'd rather have two shoulder weapons over saving one for a radar. It always makes me go for heads with both a radar and a biosensor which to me limits my build variety. Speaking of 4, my thumb fucking hurts playing it. Is it just me and I have no idea about building my AC or is that just how it goes with gen 4?Or should I just get better controller?I'm using the ol' reliable pic related. The trigger kinda stiff so that's probably why my thumb gotten hurt.Any recommendation?
>>23772853I'm this anon >>23772403 btw
>>23772853>my thumb fucking hurts playing itWhat in the game exactly makes your thumb (singular) hurt? It's not like AC4 has such an innovative control scheme with never before seen way of using the sticks. Unless you keep mashing the face buttons for whatever reason or something. And the controller seems fine to me, I never used anything special.
>>23772894my left thumb actually. It seems I always have to strangle the camera controls otherwise it won't look the way I want it to. Also the regular boosting (LB) since it always feels heavy to use the boost despite using light build AC.
After playing AC6 then going back to old gen all the lightweight legs look aesthetically displeasing
>>23772919schneider does that to you
>>23772915>It seems I always have to strangle the camera controls otherwise it won't look the way I want it to.That's just part of the charm of gen 4. Half the time you fight the camera more than you do anything else. Just wait until you'll get to the stuff like Spirit of the Motherwill, where you have to quickly prioritize certain targets but the lock on just won't not only snap onto them, it'll stubbornly choose literary anything else but what you want to shoot at. Two pieces of advice, one, be mindful of what your fcs range is because the auto locking is heavily dependent on it and two, learn to use dumbfire weapons.>Also the regular boosting (LB) since it always feels heavy to use the boost despite using light build AC.Only the reverse joints have a decent kickstart to climb and only from the ground. The rest of the frames feel really heavy if you try to move vertically. Check the main booster vertical thrust, that's the only thing that propels you up.

>>23773859There's cut dialogue that has Allmind explain that angry human brainwaves can be a substitute for Coral as a power source. In that regard, Iguazu is ahead of all the AC pilots on Rubicon combined.

plasma missiles are pretty dope
>>23783571I always interpreted it as, and we have pseudo confirmation of this as the trailers depict what OG Raven was up to before the events of the game in the trailer, as depicting the major companies moving onto Rubicon initially. What's interesting in the game is that both companies buy third party locally produced MTs, which leads me to think they have very finite resources on Rubicon. Perhaps the initial wave before the PCC really clamped down on importing stuff in had Arquebus dropping in an entire team of standard ACs but they were all eventually trashed in the conflicts on the planet. Hell the first mission had several downed ACs already. While Balam and Arquebus have their A teams on the planet, they don't have much else and have to rely on local manufacturers to actually support real militaristic pushes on the planet. This could also explain why there is a very finite amount of parts in the game. Are there probably more hover legs out there? Probably, but you can't get them on Rubicon, so they only exist as a heavy tank leg style set. Does Balam have a super lightweight AC frame to keep up with Sneider frames? Probably, but you can't get it on Rubicon during the duration of the gameplay.

>>23784961It's like Nier in that you've only finished 1/3rd of the game's story if you stop after the first time you reach the first ending. Each playthrough unlocks a new path through the story that leads to different ending.
>>23784961You won't understand anything on NG, you may think you do, but you don't. NG+ unlock more mission and new arena. NG++ is the complete game. The point is, NG is only 1/3 of the full story playthrough of AC6.

You know, in hindsight, it's actually really funny how much you can tell Miyazaki's political leanings from the setting in Armored Core 4>Israel is ultimately the biggest evil corporation in the world. It's not the strongest or most advanced force in the story but it uses underhanded methods and promotes infighting with its allies while also using them as shields in prolonged conflicts>Africa has been divided into "White Africa" and everywhere else that's Africa, with explicit mentions of ethnic cleansing wars >Japan is America's subservient dog bitch
