The problem is that this shit doesnt work in any war situation, and its not a metaphor for any kind of solution or philosophy or anything. Its a completely made up cop-out solution only possible in the setting of a mecha anime and says nothing meaningful about how we must reconcile war and peace in the real world, its a thematic deus ex machina. Yeah, the world would be better if the good guys had weapons so strong they could win without killing anyone.
