I found everything from Juspion to Jiban to be weak in quality, not necessarily bad but they're mixed bags, the only one from that period that is close to being great is Metalder. Now Winspector to BF Kabuto are all 8~9/10 toku, they really didn't miss with any of these and I totally get why Kobayashi was so enamored with these that she joined Toei. I know nothing of the last two since they aren't fully subbed so I prefer to wait until their translations are finished. Overall I'd say either Solbrain or Janperson are the best in the franchise personally while Jiban is the worst one but even then Jiban is just average not really bad nor mediocre, also Solbrain's vidya is damn awesome too.Also I haven't watched Space Squad or the Super Hero Taisen movies with Gavan but out of the anniversary Space Sheriff trilogy movies I'd say the Gavan one sucked ass whole while the Sharivan and Shaider were really great, also the crossover Gavan movie with Gokaiger was awesome and I recommend it to every Gokaiger fan even if they haven't watched Gavan.

Bros I'm around halfway into watching Timeranger for the first time and it's so fucking good. The artistry on display in this series is so beautiful that I've been brought to tears twice. I absolutely love the cast of Rangers and I love the Londerz family too, everything about this series is perfect. What other Sentai shows are comparable to this? The only other one I've watched is King Ohger.

I disagree, not so much because I'm a third worlder (I'm too young for Juspion and other series), but because they are a step up in overall plotting and characterization from earlier shows. Which were much more stodgy. They don't compare to 90s shows, which are more character-driven and have better pacing and plotting, but they are a substantial improvement. The action was great, with steadycam shots and fast cutting, and the performers were much more athletic than in earlier shows. Much better performance and costumes from the Kaijuus. The level of detail in the destruction of the mechs and monsters was on par with Ultraman shows.

The funny thing is, Gavan could easily have been a Sentai.
